상악중절치 맹출시기의 Frankel Ⅲ를 이용한 전치부 반대교합의 치험례

        김영진,이상엽,김현정,남순현 大韓小兒齒科學會 1999 大韓小兒齒科學會誌 Vol.26 No.2

It is well recognized that a cross-bite tends to occur more frequently among Japanese, Chinese and Koreans more than among Europeans. A variety of functional appliances have already invented for the treatment of cross-bites. One of them is the FR Ⅲ(by Rolf Frankel) which applies a quite different philosophy based on the using vestibular region compared with other methods which utilize muscular forces applied directly on the teeth. The FR Ⅲ also increases both the lack of muscular tension against the dental arch and the dentition and muscular forces which can then influence the teeth indirectly. This mechanism can achieve favorable developments with the basal bone, teeth, and alveolar bone. After using FR Ⅲ to the anterior cross-bite patient with the eruption of a maxillary incisor, the results were as follows: 1. Forward growth of maxilla and proclination of the upper incisor 2. Downward and backward rotation of the mandible 3. Increase the facial height 4. The case which was normal mandible, underdevelopmental maxilla, deeper overbite and more nagative overjet exhibited good prognosis

Control Growth of Euphorbia pulcherrima Willd. ex Klotzsch ‘Sonora Jingle’ and ‘Sonora White’ Using Ethephon

        Youping Sun,Lois Berg Stack,Donglin Zhang,Zhanying Gu 한국원예학회 2011 Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology Vol.52 No.4

Ethephon was sprayed on Euphorbia pulcherrima Willd. ex Klotzsch (poinsettia) ‘Sonora Jingle’ and ‘Sonora White’ to control their height and produce more compact potted plants. The results showed that Ethephon could effectively control the growth of ‘Sonora Jingle’ and ‘Sonora White’ poinsettia. Height was reduced by was 33.4 ± 0.8% for ‘Sonora Jingle’ and 30.8 ± 1.3% for ‘Sonora White’ poinsettia, when 700 mg・L^(-1) Ethephon was sprayed three times on 29 August, 20September, and 13 October 2005, respectively. Similar to other plant growth retardants, side effects including phytotoxicity and delays to first bract color were also observed on Ethephon treated poinsettia. However, all plants produced were still of a marketable quality.

Development of a Reduction Algorithm of GEO Satellite Optical Observation Data for Optical Wide Field Patrol (OWL)

        Sun-youp Park,Jin Choi1,Jung Hyun Jo,Ju Young Son,Yung-Sik Park,Hong-Suh Yim,Hong-Suh Yim,Hong-Kyu Moon,Young-Ho Bae,Jang-Hyun Park 한국우주과학회 2015 Journal of Astronomy and Space Sciences Vol.32 No.3

An algorithm to automatically extract coordinate and time information from optical observation data of geostationary orbit satellites (GEO satellites) or geosynchronous orbit satellites (GOS satellites) is developed. The optical wide-field patrol system is capable of automatic observation using a pre-arranged schedule. Therefore, if this type of automatic analysis algorithm is available, daily unmanned monitoring of GEO satellites can be possible. For data acquisition for development, the COMS1 satellite was observed with 1-s exposure time and 1-m interval. The images were grouped and processed in terms of “action”, and each action was composed of six or nine successive images. First, a reference image with the best quality in one action was selected. Next, the rest of the images in the action were geometrically transformed to fit in the horizontal coordinate system (expressed in azimuthal angle and elevation) of the reference image. Then, these images were median-combined to retain only the possible non-moving GEO candidates. By reverting the coordinate transformation of the positions of these GEO satellite candidates, the final coordinates could be calculated.

Complete response of locally advanced left-sided pancreatic cancer after modified FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy followed by conversion surgery: A case report

        Sun Jung Kim,Jeong Youp Park,Hyeo Seong Hwang,Chang Moo Kang 한국간담췌외과학회 2021 Annals of hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery Vol.25 No.3

For years, neoadjuvant chemotherapy for locally advanced pancreatic cancer is being investigated and radical surgical resection with laparoscopic approach is getting up to speed. Pathological complete remission is known as a predictive marker for a good prognosis for various carcinomas. Although there are a few case reports about pathological complete remission, there has been no case report of pathological complete remission resulted from successful extensive resection by laparoscopic surgery after a neoadjuvant modified FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy. A 68-year-old male patient was admitted due to a palpable abdominal mass which turned out to be 16-cm-sized huge locally advanced left-sided pancreatic cancer with possible stomach, left adrenal gland, left kidney, and colon invasion. After administration of 10th modified FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy, the tumor had decreased and he underwent laparoscopic radical distal pancreatectomy with splenectomy, left adrenalectomy, wedge resection of stomach, and segmental resection of transverse colon. Although patient had a postoperative micro-abscess around the colon anastomosis site, he was successfully managed with conservative treatment and discharged on 12 days postoperatively. The final pathology reported complete tumor regression. We hereby emphasize the oncologic significance of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in huge left-sided pancreatic cancer and the potential role of laparoscopic conversion surgery.

      • Effects of Galla chinensis extracts on UVB-irradiated MMP-1 production in hairless mice.

        Sun, Zheng-wang,Hwang, Eunson,Lee, Hyun Ji,Lee, Tae Youp,Song, Hyun Geun,Park, Sang-Yong,Shin, Heon-Sub,Lee, Don-Gil,Yi, Tae Hoo Springer-Verlag Tokyo 2015 Journal of Natural Medicines Vol.69 No.1

Galla chinensis (GAC) is a natural traditional Chinese medicine that has been widely used in folk medicine. Although GAC compounds (mainly gallic acid and methyl gallate) possess strong antiviral, antibacterial, anticancer, and antioxidant activities, there is no report regarding topical or oral administration of GAC compounds on UVB irradiation-induced photoaging in hairless mice (SKH: HR-1). In the present study, we examined cell viability, intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in skin fibroblasts and keratinocytes induced by UVB in vitro. We also studied skin damage by measuring skin thickness, elasticity, wrinkling and levels of protein MMP-1, elastin, procollagen type I, and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) in hairless mouse skin chronically irradiated by UVB in vivo. GAC treatment significantly prevented skin photoaging by reducing the levels of ROS, MMP-1, and IL-6 and promoting production of elastin, procollagen type I, and TGF-β1. According to the results of H&E staining and Masson's trichrome staining, GAC reduced skin thickness and wrinkle formation while it increased skin elasticity. The effects of GAC on UVB-induced skin photoaging may be due to suppressed MMP-1 expression. These findings could be referenced for the development of new agents that target UVB-induced photoaging.

      • QUOTIENTS OF REAL ALGEBRAIC G VARIETIES AND ALGEBRAIC REALIZATION PROBLEMS

SUN, DONG YOUP 경북대학교 위상수학 기하학연구센터 1995 硏究論文集 Vol.4 No.-

Let G be a compact Lie group and H an odd order group. We show that a real algebraic G×H variety X induces a real algebraic G variety structure on the quotient space X/H. We then apply the result to actions with one orbit type to solve algebraic realization problems for both G manifolds and G vector bundles.

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor (PAUF), a novel up-regulated secretory protein in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

        Kim, Sun A,Lee, Yangsoon,Jung, Dawoon E,Park, Kyung Hwa,Park, Jeong Youp,Gang, Jingu,Jeon, Sun Bok,Park, Eui Chul,Kim, Young-Gun,Lee, Bogman,Liu, Qing,Zeng, Wen,Yeramilli, Subramanyam,Lee, Soojin,Koh, Japanese Cancer Association 2009 CANCER SCIENCE Vol.100 No.5

The identification of novel tumor-specific proteins or antigens is of great importance for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in pancreatic cancer. Using oligonucleotide microarrays, we identified a broad spectrum of differentially expressed pancreatic cancer-related genes. Of these, we selected an overexpressed expressed sequence taq and cloned a 721-bp full-length cDNA with an open reading frame of 196 amino acids. This novel gene was localized on the Homo sapiens 16p13.3 chromosomal locus, and its nucleotide sequence matched the Homo sapiens similar to common salivary protein 1 (LOC124220). We named the gene pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor. The pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor was secreted into the culture medium of pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor-overexpressing Chinese hamster ovary cells, had an apparent molecular mass of approximately 25 kDa, and was N-glycosylated. The induction of pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor in Chinese hamster ovary cells increased cell proliferation, migration, and invasion ability in vitro. Subcutaneous injection of mice with Chinese hamster ovary/pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor cells resulted in 3.8-fold greater tumor sizes compared to Chinese hamster ovary/mock cells. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and western blotting with antirecombinant human pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor antibodies confirmed that pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor was highly expressed in six of eight pancreatic cancer cell lines. Immunohistochemical staining of human pancreatic cancer tissues also showed pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor overexpression in the cytoplasm of cancer cells. Transfection with pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor-specific small-interfering RNA reduced cancer cell migration and invasion in vitro. Treatment with antirecombinant human pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor in vitro and in vivo reduced proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumorigenic ability. Collectively, our results suggest that pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor is a novel secretory protein involved in pancreatic cancer progression and might be a potential target for the treatment of pancreatic cancer.
