        6-(3.4-Dichlorophenyl)amino-7-chloro-5.8-quinolinedione (RCK50) was tested for antifungal activities in mice systemically infected with Candida albicans. The therapeutic potential of RCK50 was also assessed in comparison with ketoconazole. RCK50 had ED_50 0.22±0.01 ㎎/㎏. Ketoconazole as a positive control had ED_50 6.00±1.70 ㎎/㎏. Intraperitoneally administered RCK50 at the ED_50 for 7 days and 14 days reduced Candida albicans colony count in the kidneys and liver. And administered RCK50 at the ED_50 for 14 days improved survival rates. The genotoxicities of RCK50 had been evaluated. RCK50 was negative in Ames test with Salmonella typhimurium and chromosomal aberration test in CHL cells. RCK50 did not show any clastogenic effect in mouse peripheral blood and was negative in mouse micronucleus assay. These results indicate that RCK50 has no genotoxic potential under these experimental conditions. Acute oral toxicity studies of RCK50 were carried out in ICR mice of both sexes. RCK50 did not show acute oral toxicities and LD_50 values were over 2.850 ㎎/㎏ in ICR mice.

      • 지반의 진행성 파괴와 기초의 크기 효과를 고려한 지지력 특성에 관한 실험적 연구

        얕은 기초의 지지력을 산정하는데 있어서 기존 이론의 지지력계수(Nc,Nr,Nq)는 흙의 내부마찰 각 φ만의 함수로 표현되어져 있다. 그리고 조밀한 모래지반에서는 동시파괴(전반전단파괴)가 발생한다고 가정하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 주문지 표준사를 이용하여 중간·조밀한 모래지반을 제작하여, 재하폭 B를 변화시켜 실험하였다. 실험 결과, 조밀한 모래지반에서도 진행성파괴가 발생하며, 지지력계수 Nr의 평가에 있어서 내부마찰각 φ뿐만 아니라, 재하폭 B의 영향이 고려되어져야 함을 알 수 있었다. The bearing capacity factors(Nc,Nr,Nq) of an existing formulae are the function of only internal friction angle(φ) in calculating of ultimate bearing capacity of shallow foundations. And it is assumed that the simultaneous failure(general shear failure) occurs in the dense sand. In this study, the medium to dense sand grounds are formed by Joomunjin standard sand, and the laboratory medel tests are made with the change of load-width(B). By test it is known that the progressive failure is also occurred in the dense sand ground and so the bearing capacity factor(Nr) should be considered for not only internal friction angle(φ) but also the effect of load-width(B).

        Risk factors for early-onset lung cancer in Korea: analysis of a nationally representative population-based cohort

        OBJECTIVES: We examined the associations of socioeconomic factors, health behaviors, and comorbidities with early-onset lung cancer. METHODS: The study included 6,794,287 individuals aged 20-39 years who participated in a Korean national health check-up program from 2009 to 2012. During the follow-up period, 4,684 participants developed lung cancer. Multivariable Cox regression analysis was used to estimate the independent associations of potential risk factors with incident lung cancer. RESULTS: Older age (multivariable hazard ratio [mHR], 1.13; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.12 to 1.14) and female sex (mHR, 1.62; 95% CI, 1.49 to 1.75) were associated with increased lung cancer risk. Current smoking was also associated with elevated risk (<10 pack-years: mHR, 1.12; 95% CI, 1.01 to 1.24; ≥10 pack-years: mHR, 1.30; 95% CI, 1.18 to 1.45), but past smoking was not. Although mild alcohol consumption (<10 g/day) was associated with lower lung cancer risk (mHR, 0.92; 95% CI, 0.86 to 0.99), heavier alcohol consumption (≥10 g/day) was not. Higher income (highest vs. lowest quartile: mHR, 0.86; 95% CI, 0.78 to 0.94), physical activity for at least 1,500 metabolic equivalent of task-min/wk (vs. non-exercisers: mHR, 0.83; 95% CI, 0.69 to 0.99) and obesity (vs. normal weight: mHR, 0.89; 95% CI, 0.83 to 0.96) were associated with lower lung cancer risk, whereas metabolic syndrome was associated with increased risk (mHR, 1.13; 95% CI, 1.03 to 1.24). CONCLUSIONS: In young adults, age, female sex, smoking, and metabolic syndrome were risk factors for early-onset lung cancer, while high income, physical activity, and obesity displayed protective effects.

        KRAS targeting antibody synergizes anti-cancer activity of gemcitabine against pancreatic cancer

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Pancreatic cancer exhibits an oncogenic KRAS mutation rate of ∼90%. Despite research and drug development efforts focused on KRAS, no targeted therapy has been clinically approved for the treatment of pancreatic cancer with KRAS mutation. Also, the efficacy of gemcitabine is poor due to rapidly acquired resistance. We developed RT11-i antibody, which directly targets the intracellularly activated GTP-bound form of oncogenic RAS mutants. Here, we investigated the combined effects of RT11-i and gemcitabine <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I>, and the mechanism involved. RT11-i significantly sensitized pancreatic cancer cells to gemcitabine. Also, the co-treatment synergistically inhibited angiogenesis, migration, and invasion, and showed synergistic anticancer activity by inhibiting the RAF/MEK/ERK or PI3K/AKT pathways. Furthermore, co-treatment inhibited endothelial barrier disruption in tumor vessels, which is a critical step in vascular leakiness of metastasis, and improved vessel structural stability. Importantly, co-treatment significantly suppressed tumor growth in an orthotopic tumor model. Taken together, our findings show that RT11-i synergistically increased the antitumor activity of gemcitabine by inhibiting RAS downstream signaling, which suggests RT11-i and gemcitabine be viewed a potential combination treatment option for pancreatic cancer patients with KRAS mutation.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Pancreatic cancer exhibits an oncogenic KRAS mutation rate of ∼90%.       • In-depth considerations for better polyelectrolytes as interfacial materials in polymer solar cells

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We perform a comprehensive study to achieve better polyelectrolytes (PEs) as electron-transport layers (ETLs) in polymer solar cells (PSCs). Three well-known PEs – PFN, PEIE, and WPF – are chosen as model systems and investigated with variations in their backbone structures and the state of the amine functionalities on their side chains. Respectively optimized PSCs using the three PEs exhibit different cell-performances, mainly owing to the diode characteristics of built-in potential and recombination strength. To identify how such deviated device-performances correlate with the structural features of PEs, the modulated interfaces of ITO/PEs and PEs/active layer are studied in detail. It is found that conjugated backbones and larger counter-anions on side chains can promote the modulation of ITO work functions (WFs) and that a large amount of protonated amines on PEs is beneficial for junction properties with a subsequent active layer. Additionally, our results indicate that interfacial dipole and electrical doping between the PE and active layer, in addition to WF modulation of the ITO cathode, are important for device efficiency. Accordingly, with the aid of the molecular features of PEIE, PEIE-PSCs exhibit excellent device efficiency and stability compared with PFN- and WPF-PSCs. In the PTB7-th:PC<SUB>71</SUB>BM system, a remarkable power-conversion efficiency of 9.97% is achieved with a single PEIE ETL.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Chemical structure and performance of polyelectrolytes (PEs) in PSCs are correlated. </LI> <LI> Interfacial dipole and doping between PEs and active layer lead to efficient PSCs. </LI> <LI> PEIE-based PSCs have excellent device efficiency and high stability. </LI> <LI> Especially, in the PTB7-th system, encouraging efficiency of 9.97% is achieved. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        부동산 증권화의 감정평가제도 개선방안에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 부동산 증권화 시장의 안정성 확보를 위한 증권화 관련 법령과 감정평가분야 개선방안을 검토하였다. 부동산 증권화 관련 법률 검토결과 증권화의 각 단계별로 자산가치의 판정이 필요하며 증권화 과정에서 감정평가사가 부동산 시장 전문가로서의 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 제도적인 보완사항을 제시하였다. 또한, 국내에 비해 증권화 도입이 빠르면서 감정평가 제도가 유사한 일본의 증권화 시장과 감정평가 규정의 변화 과정을 검토 후 증권화 목적의 감정평가가 신뢰성과 객관성을 확보하기 위해서는 구체적인 감정평가기준이 필요함을 제안하였다. 감정평가기준의 내용에는 감정평가 결과가 다수의 이해관계인에게 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 감정평가 담당자가 인식하여야 한다는 윤리규정, 감정평가 방법은 할인현금흐름분석법이 원칙이어야 한다는 내용, 수익과 비용 항목 판단의 일관성을 위해 일본과 같이 항목에 대한 세부 정의 규정을 두어야 한다. 본 연구의 경우 재무적 관점에 초점을 맞춰 진행된 기존 연구와 달리 증권화 대상물인 부동산의 가치평가 관점에서 증권화 시장의 발전을 모색하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다. This research examines laws and ordinances to improve appraisal standards of real estate securitization. The examination of major laws related with real estate securitization proves that it is necessary to appraise asset values per stage of securitization. Since there are not enough institutional opportunities for appraiser to play the role of specialist of real estate market, related laws and ordinances need to be compensated for. We also investigate Japan's securitization market and changing process of rules on appraisers. Appraisal standards should include 1) ethics code, 2) discounted cash flow analysis, and 3) the consistency of income and expenditure item judgement as the case of Japan. Most of all, this paper contributes to developing securitization market in view of valuation of real estate unlike existing papers mainly rely on financial perspective.

        치과 임플란트 표면처리의 경향과 이해

        Objectives: Osseointegration is important to success of dental implants, it is influenced by dental implant surface treatment. Recently, it could be classified into the five generations. Methods: Data were collected using electronic journals and books. Results: Machined type surface belongs to the first generation, the second generation of surface treatment includes blasted, acid-etching and titanium plasma spraying type surfaces. The third generation consists of hydroxyapatite coating type surface, the fourth generation is developed anodizing oxidation the surface that using bioactive factors. Finally, the five generation uses recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2). Conclusions: It is thought that more innovative dental implant surface treatment will be developed according to the development of science technology
