        Clinical Applications of CT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging

        With the continuous development of CT technology, myocardial CT perfusion imaging (CTP) has exhibited great advantages and been shown to have incremental value over coronary CT angiography, providing functional evaluation of coronary artery disease (CAD). Comprehensive assessment of CAD using cardiac CT has become feasible. This article introduces the preliminary clinical experience and advances with CTP and briefly reviews the feasibility verification, diagnostic performance, clinical strategy optimization and prognostic evaluation of CTP.

      • Research on the longitudinal stress distribution in steel box girder with large cantilever

        There are numerous structural details (Longitudinal beam, web plate, U-ribs and I-ribs) in the top and bottom plates of steel box girders, which have significant influences on the longitudinal stress (normal stress) distribution. Clarifying the influence of these structural details on the normal stress distribution is important. In this paper, the ultra-wide steel box girder with large cantilevers of the Jinhai Bridge in China, which is the widest cable-stayed bridge in the world, has been analyzed. A 1:4.5 scale laboratory model of the steel box girder has been manufactured, and the influence of structural details on the normal stress distribution in the top and bottom plates for four different load cases has been analyzed in detail. Furthermore, a threedimensional finite element model has been established to further investigate the influence regularity of structural details on the normal stress. The experimental and finite element analysis (FEA) results have shown that different structural details of the top and bottom plates have varying effects on the normal stress distribution. Notably, the U-ribs and I-ribs of the top and bottom plates introduce periodicity to the normal stress distribution. The period of the influence of U-ribs on the normal stress distribution is the sum of the single U-rib width and the U-rib spacing, and that of the influence of I-ribs on the normal stress distribution is equal to the spacing of the I-ribs. Furthermore, the same structural details but located at different positions, will have a different effect on the normal stress distribution.

        Biomimetic functional hydrogel particles with enhanced adhesion characteristics for applications in fracture conformance control

        Fracture conformance control in reservoir can effectively improve water channel to increase crude oil displacementefficiency of subsequent waterflooding. Inspired by the remarkable underwater wet adhesionof mussel byssus, hydrogel particles which can adhere stably on the fracture rock surface in reservoir conditionscould achieve long-lasting reservoir control effect. In this work, the size-controllable biomimeticfunctional hydrogel particles were prepared by mechanical shearing after bulk hydrogel was constructedby catechol-functionalized polyacrylamide and phenolic resin crosslinking agent. The influence of solutionsalinity on the aggregation and adhesion of hydrogel particles was investigated via scanning electronmicroscope (SEM), colloidal probe atomic force microscope (AFM) and quartz crystal microbalance withdissipation (QCM-D). The results showed that hydrogel particles maintained well-dispersed state in lowsalinitywater, while exhibited significant adhesion and adsorption capacity to the silica surface in simulatedreservoir salinity water. This is of great importance to the practical applications that the hydrogelparticles would not show enhanced adhesion to rock surfaces until the reservoir salinity water was met,which was beneficial to the in-depth migration of hydrogel particles to achieve effective deep reservoirprofile control. Furthermore, the visible micro-model was designed and applied to evaluate profile controleffect of hydrogel particles, and the results showed that hydrogel particles could withstand waterflushing and adhere stably to the fracture surface. The waterflooding sweep efficiency was increasedremarkably from 20.3% ± 2.0% to 38.8% ± 2.0%. This work would help better understand the functionmechanism of hydrogel particles in reservoir control and provide novel and efficient method for the practicalapplication in enhanced oil recovery.

        circSPG21 protects against intervertebral disc disease by targeting miR-1197/ATP1B3

        The abnormal expression of circular RNAs (circRNAs) is associated with numerous human diseases. This study investigated the mechanism by which circRNA acts as competitive endogenous RNA in the regulation of degenerative intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). Decreased expression of circSPG21 was detected in degenerated nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs), the function of circSPG21 in NPCs was explored and verified, and the downstream target of circSPG21 was investigated. The interaction between circSPG21 and miR-1197 and its target gene ( ATP1B3 ) was studied by online database prediction and molecular biological verification. Finally, the circSPG21/miR-1197/ATP1B3 axis was verified in the mouse tail-looping model. The expression of circSPG21 in the nucleus pulposus in IVDD was directly related to an imbalance of anabolic and catabolic factors, which affected cell senescence. circSPG21 was found to play a role in human NPCs by acting as a sponge of miR-1197 and thereby affecting ATP1B3 . The regulation of circSPG21 provides a potentially effective therapeutic strategy for IVDD.
