Online Learning, Digital Platform and Higher Education in Vietnam :A Comparative Analysis

This paper examined the increasing demands of online education platform like MOOCs, the most famous open online courses, in the age of digital transformation in the context of developing countries. In case of Vietnam, the main case of this paper, the citizens’ desire for higher and technical education as well as disruptive innovation in information and communication technology pushed traditional colleges and education institutions to adjust to rapidly changing education market. Yet, the attempt has not been successful. What caused this supply and demand gap? Why are current measures inadequate to meet citizens’ need? Through the case study method with comparative reference to neighboring Southeast Asian countries, this paper argued that online education platform like MOOCs in Vietnam has not been successful mainly because of the lack of proper understanding of online education by traditional universities and systemic financial as well as legal support from the government. We argued that the removal of these obstacles will integrate the traditional and new online education and meet the growing demands of citizens.

Recently, the call for better accountability and social responsibility from corporations has been regularly voiced, both in the academic literature and in public discussions. This poses a challenge to the existing literature in understanding consumption behaviors to direct them toward sustainable development. This study investigates the purchase intention of Gen Z consumers in Vietnam with green packaging products. Data were collected from 914 respondents by online questionnaire and then analyzed using OLS. The results suggest the significant influence of customers’ income and packaging in driving customers’ intention to use environmentally-friendly products. Specifically, consumers in a higher income class participate more actively in green purchases. However, problems associated with inadequate packaging are also illustrated, resulting in the poor perception of green messages and poor practice of ecological actions. Besides, subjective norms and green trust are found to be adversely related to green consumer intention. In addition, gender disparity in green behavior is reported, where female consumers show a higher tendency to ecological consumption than their male counterparts. Other demographic factors are also included in the model as control variables, which are age, education, price, environmental literacy, environmental concern, and psychological awareness, but they do not have a significant impact on green purchase intention.
Synthesis of Epitaxial GaFeO3 Thin Films on Various Substrates

Gallium ferrite (GaFeO3 or GFO) not only exhibits magnetoelectric coupling but also possesses other interesting electrical and magnetic properties of a multiferroic material. We report the fabrication of GFO thin films on various substrates such as -Al2O3 (0001), STO (111), and YSZ (001). All films present a (0l0) b-axis orientation perpendicular to the substrates. An analysis of the X-ray diffraction results showed a variety of domain structure and different strain states. Due to the magnetic anisotropy in GaFeO3, we expected these epitaxial films with different domain structures to display variants that were induced by change in the magnetization caused by an applied electric field. This study may promote potential applications in spintronics and multifunctional devices.

Pd-incorporated Zr-based metal–organic framework containing sulfone groups, named Pd(II)BUT-11, wassuccessfully prepared by dispersing the sulfone-functionalized MOF in Pd(OAc)2 solution. X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy, N2 isotherm sorption, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and thermogravimetricanalysis were applied to determine the features of the Pd-incorporated MOF. In the catalyticstudies, Pd(II)@BUT-11 was shown to be an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for synthesizing various stilbenederivatives via the cross-coupling Heck reaction with DABCO-derived deep eutectic solvent (DES) asa green solvent. Notably, the catalyst and the solvent could be recovered and reused, with their activityand structure remaining stable throughout several trials. The method provides an alternative solution tothe conventional catalysts and solvents, resulting in a green and efficient stilbene synthesis process. Furthermore, the stilbenes were separated by extraction with ethyl acetate due to the low solubility ofDES with this solvent.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>TEMPO–oxidized cellulose nanofiber (TOCNF) is a natural material with many promising properties, including biocompatibility and degradability. In this study, we integrated TOCNF at different concentrations (0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8% w/v) with chitosan (CS) and created a thermosensitive injectable hydrogel intended for biomedical applications. These hydrogels can undergo sol-gel transition at body temperature through interactions between chitosan and β-glycerophosphate. The addition of TOCNF resulted in faster gelation time and increased porosity. These hydrogels with TOCNF showed improved biocompatibility both <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I> compared to CS hydrogel. Both MC3T3-E1 pre-osteoblast cells and L929 fibroblast cells showed biocompatibility towards CS/TOCNF 0.4. After 7days of implantation, initial inflammatory response to CS/TOCNF 0.4 was found. Such response was significantly subsided within 14days. Cell infiltration within the hydrogel was also prominent, showing anti-inflammatory or wound healing (M2) macrophage at 14days after implantation. Synthesis of Fe₂O₃Polymorph Thin Films via a Pulsed Laser Deposition Technique

The Fe₂O₃polymorph has diverse phase structures differing in physical properties, which need intensive studies. To investigate the possibility of stabilizing different Fe₂O₃ polymorphs, we synthesized Fe₂O₃ thin films on various substrates such as α-Al₂O₃(0001), MgO (001), and fused quartz, by using the pulsed laser deposition method. An analysis of the X-ray diffraction results provided the optimal conditions for the fabrication of a stable single phase on different substrates. The growth of particular single-phase polymorphous thin films depends greatly on the substrate's crystal structure. This opens up new directions in the synthesis and study of Fe₂O₃polymorphs by using physical methods.

<P>This paper reports a simple and robust route to stabilize metastable epsilon-Fe2O3 as an epitaxial thin film using a GaFeO3 (GFO) buffer in pulsed laser deposition. The use of an isostructural GFO buffer widens the range of film growth, allowing for stabilization on a range of substrates even with different surface symmetries, such as Al2O3 (0001), SrTiO3 (111), and Y:ZrO2 (100). All films grown on these substrates were c-axis oriented with the characteristic in-plane domain structures. Magnetization of these buffered thin films showed considerable magnetic anisotropy at 350 K. In particular, in-plane magnetization was found to be relatively larger in the films grown on the Y: ZrO2 (100) compared to the other cases. Heterostructuring epsilon-Fe2O3 on GFO is promising in the applications of epsilon-Fe2O3 for magnetic and multiferroic devices in that it provides a larger growth window and an effective means to optimize the film properties beyond the simple substitution of Fe with Ga. Au=Fe₂O₃(Au : Fe = 1 : 50) catalyst was prepared by the co-precipitation method. The co- precipitate was studied by using dierential thermal analysis (DTA) and dierential thermal gravi- metric analysis (DTGA). The structure of the sample was investigated by using X-ray diraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high-resolution transmission electron mi- croscopy (HRTEM). The particle size was determined to be within the range of 1.5 and 8 nm. Results of the study for catalytic properties showed that T1=2 for CO and H2 oxidation were 317 and 405 K respectively.
