Increasing interest in prognostics and health management has heightened the need for wireless sensor networks (WSN) with efficient power sources. Piezoelectric energy harvesters using Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) are one of the candidate power sources for WSNs as they efficiently convert mechanical vibration energy into electrical energy. These types of devices are resonated at a specific frequency, which has a significant impact on the amount of energy harvested, by external vibration. Hence, precise prediction of mechanical deformation including modal analysis of piezoelectric devices is crucial for estimating the energy generated under specific conditions. In this study, an experimental vibrational system capable of controlling a wide range of frequencies and accelerations was designed to generate mechanical vibration for piezoelectric energy harvesters. In conjunction with MATLAB, the system automatically finds the resonance frequency of harvesters. A small accelerometer and non-contact laser displacement sensor are employed to investigate the mechanical deformation of harvesters. Mechanical deformation under various frequencies and accelerations were investigated and analyzed based on data from two types of sensors. The results verify that the proposed system can be employed to carry out vibration experiments for piezoelectric harvesters and measurement of their mechanical deformation.

<P>The present study examined the analgesic effects of slow-releasing bupivacaine from hydrogel on chronic arthritic pain in rats. Osteoarthritis (OA) was induced by monosodium iodoacetate (MIA) injection into the right knee joint. Hydrogel (HG: 20, 30, and 50 <I>μ</I>L) and temperature-sensitive hydrogel containing bupivacaine (T-gel: 20, 30, and 50 <I>μ</I>L) were injected intra-articularly 14 days after MIA injection. Behavioral tests were conducted. The rats showed a significant decrease in weight load and paw withdrawal threshold (PWT). Intra-articular 0.5% bupivacaine (10 and 20 <I>μ</I>L) significantly reversed MIA-induced decreased PWT, with no effect on weight load. In normal rats, hydrogel did not produce significant changes in PWT but at 30 and 50 <I>μ</I>L slightly decreased weight bearing; T-gel did not cause any changes in both the weight load and PWT. In OA rats, T-gel at 20 <I>μ</I>L had a significant analgesic effect for 2 days, even though T-gel at 50 <I>μ</I>L further reduced the weight load, demonstrating that intra-articular T-gel (20 <I>μ</I>L) has long-lasting analgesic effects in OA rats. Thus, T-gel designed to deliver analgesics into the joint cavity could be an effective therapeutic tool in the clinical setting.</P>

선박용 3 차원 서라운드뷰 학습모델을 위한 사용자평가 기반의 학습 데이터 합성

Surround View Monitor (SVM) 시스템은 차량에 장착된 카메라 영상으로 차량 주변 영상을 재구성하는 시스템이다. SVM 은 차량 주차 시 필요한 영상 정보를 하나의 뷰로 제공하며, 이는 선박의 정박에도 유용하게 사용된다. 그러나, 기존 SVM 시스템은 고정된 수평면을 가정한 호모그래피에 기반하므로 지형 정보가 왜곡된 주변영상을 제공하는 한계가 있다. 본 연구는 선박의 정박상황에 특화된 SVM 을 목표로 하며, 기존 SVM 시스템의 한계를 극복하기 위해 장면재구성 (scene reconstruction) 및 영상완성 (image completion) 학습모델을 블록빌딩으로 하는 프레임워크를 제안한다. 제안 프레임워크를 구성하는 학습모델을 위한 효과적인 학습데이터 획득 및 학습모델 설계를 위해 정박 상황의 시뮬레이션 영상을 활용한다. 또한, 선박 정박 상황을 몰입형 가상현실로 구현하여 선박운항 전문가가 고난도 정박 상황을 경험하게 하고 제안한 시스템에서 생성한 SVM 을 경험하게 한다. 최종적으로 이를 통해 획득한 사용자 평가데이터를 제안한 SVM 시스템의 학습데이터 생성 및 학습모델 설계에 활용한다.
The Effect of Cross-Model's Product Demonstration and Product Involvement on Attitudes toward the Ad

Recently, the cross-model strategy of using male models in advertisements for women's cosmetics has been increasingly utilized. Academics have begun to discuss and study cross-model advertisements, but most of the studies have focused on the effects of the presence of a cross model. We investigated the effects of a crossmodel’s product demonstration as an advertising creative strategy on consumer's attitudes toward the ad. We examined the effects of a male model demonstrating the advertised products for women's cosmetics on female consumers' attitudes toward the ad. As a result, we found that when a male model demonstrated a product in a women's product advertisement, consumers' attitudes toward the ad were more positive the higher their product involvement. Therefore, product involvement was found to be a moderating variable in the effect of cross-model product demonstration on attitudes toward the ad. This study contributes to the line of research on the effect of cross-model and product demonstration advertising, providing practical implications for advertising practitioners.
