        FRP로 보강된 원형 CFT기둥의 구속효과를 고려한 압축내력설계식 제안

        The purpose of this study is to propose the axial load capacity design formula for circular CFT column reinforced by FRP. To propose the equation, 11 specimens' results obtained from Xiao and Park's tests were used in this study. Steel tube and FRP confined concrete strengths were obtained from the Mander equation used in ACI committee 440. The confinement effectiveness coefficient for FRP confined circular CFT column are proposed and confined concrete strengths are also obtained by using the coefficient. Finally, from the obtained concrete strengths, the axial load capacity design formula for FRP reinforced circular CFT columns is proposed and the design equation results are in good agreement with the test results.

        The urban waterfront well created, could provide mental stability and comfort and also foster personality. In addition it could provide the calmness and rest of mind. Especially, recently the urban waterfronts are restored here and there and are created whenever developing a new town The purpose of this study is to develop a method of calculating the weight of each evaluation criterion for deciding the priority of restoration among for deciding the priority of restoration among the urban waterfronts. The method includes the analytic hierarchy process that can calculate the reasonable weight of each evaluation criterion, because the importance (weights) of evaluation criteria appears to be different among the evaluators; the results of this study can be summarized as that this method can be useful for calculating the weights of evaluation criteria, and also that the superiority of ecological resources is the most important factor (highest weight) in selecting the best waterfront, followed by accessibility, tourism vacation, and proximity to parks. And then the lowest factor in importance is the scale of reservoir.

        혈압점(血壓點)에 윤제(潤劑)의 주입이 고혈압에 미치는 영향

        Objective: This study was designed to evaluate the possibility of Hypertension by moistening Herbal-acupuncture at Blood Pressure Point(HN136). Methods: We reviewed 14 patients of Hypertension. They were hospitalized at oriental medical hospital of Sang-Ji university for 2002. 1. 2. - 2002. 5. 2. First, we divided into two groups; Group Ⅰ was administrated by moistening Herbal-acupuncture at Blood Pressure Point(HN136), and was not given any western medicine about Hypertension during the period of experiment. Group Ⅱ was administrated by moistening Herbal-acupuncture at Blood Pressure Point(HN136), and given western medicine about Hypertension during the period of experiment. we observed the change of systolic and diastolic for 2 weeks, and compared Group Ⅰ with Group Ⅱ . Results: The results obtained as follows: 1. The figure of systolic in Group Ⅰ was decreased, but there was no signification. There was a significant decrease in Group Ⅱ (p<0.05) 2. The figure of diastolic in Group Ⅰ was decreased, but there was no signification. There was a significant decrease in Group Ⅱ (p<0.05) 3. Group Ⅱ was more effective than Group Ⅰ in the results. Conclusion: The results suggest that moistening Herbal-acupuncture at Blood Pressure Point(HN136) was effective treatment of Hypertension. So further research is needed continuously.

      • Molecular composition of PM<sub>2.5</sub> organic aerosol measured at an urban site of Korea during the ACE-Asia campaign

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Daily fine particulate matter (PM<SUB>2.5</SUB>) samples were collected at Gwangju, Korea, during the ACE-Asia campaign between 26 March and 4 May 2001, to characterize individual organic compounds. Daily air volumes per sample (∼24m<SUP>3</SUP>) were too low for detailed organic analysis by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS), so were grouped based on their air mass trajectories. A total of 9 composites (Groups A–I), seven containing 4–6 daily samples and two containing 2 daily samples, were analyzed to determine the <I>n</I>-alkanes, <I>n</I>-alkanoic acids, dicarboxylic acids, aromatic acids, resin acids, PAHs, oxy-PAHs, and levoglucosan, etc. Two-day composite samples were formed during the Asian dust storm events (10–13 April) due to the high PM<SUB>2.5</SUB> mass concentration.</P><P>The concentrations of <I>n</I>-alkanes and <I>n</I>-alkanoic acids were highly elevated when air masses are transported through Korean peninsula (Group B), local anthropogenic pollution strongly impacted on the measurement site (Group C), or when a biomass burning event had occurred (Group H). Of the <I>n</I>-alkanoic acids, octadecanoic acid (C<SUB>18</SUB>) was the most abundant species in most of the composite samples, followed by hexadecanoic acid (C<SUB>16</SUB>), but with lower concentrations for the higher molecular weight acids (⩾C<SUB>20</SUB>), suggesting a greater contribution from petroleum-based emission sources, such as gasoline and diesel vehicles, fuel oil combustion, etc. Also, the concentrations of resin acids were enriched in Groups B and C. A high levoglucosan concentration was observed in the Group H, in which a biomass-burning plume passing through Korean peninsula was transported to the sampling region. For the periods with Asian dust events (Groups D and E), most of the organic species were less abundant than in the other composite sample groups.</P><P>Additionally, two 12-h PM<SUB>2.5</SUB> ambient samples, collected nearby an agricultural land during agricultural waste burning episode, were used to analyze individual organic species and examine the influence of agricultural burning on the ambient fine particulate matter concentrations. Very enhanced concentrations were observed for the PM<SUB>2.5</SUB> mass, organic carbon and levoglucosan during this episode. An elevated carbon preference index (CPI) value (2.8) of <I>n</I>-alkanes and high wax <I>n</I>-alkanes contribution (50.7%) indicate a greater influence from biogenic emissions. The concentration of hexadecanoic acid (C<SUB>16</SUB>) among those of the <I>n</I>-alkanoic acids was highest, following by octadecanoic acid (C<SUB>18</SUB>).</P>

        The single nucleus from nucleus transplanted two-cell mouse embryos were tranaplanted into encleated zygote and two-cell embryos by micromanipulation and electrofusion(2nd NT). The developmental potential of these reconstituted embryos by fusion was examined in vitro and in vivo. The fusion rate of 2nd NT of single nucleus to enucleated zygote and 2-cell embryos was 84.7 and 84.0%, respectively. However, the 2nd NT of single nucleus to enucleated zygote and two-cell embryos developed to full term in vivo after embyos transfer to recipient mice (in the rate of 23.0 and 25.0%), respectively.

        Mirror Syndrome Resulting from Metastatic Congenital Neuroblastoma to Placenta

        Congenital neuroblastoma is a rare disease. Placental metastasis is extremely rare and poor prognosis has been reported in neonates. Mirror syndrome could occur in mother with placental metastasis with possibilities of hypertension and edema. We report a case of detection of left suprarenal mass in fetus at 31<sup>+5</sup> weeks’ gestation. Mother presented with palpitation, edema, headache, and hypertension. Maternal 24 hours urine vanillylmandelic acid (VMA) and normetanephrine (NME) level at 34 weeks’ gestation were elevated. Consequently, emergent cesarean section was done. Based on abdominal ultrasonography and whole body magnetic resonance imaging, left adrenal tumor with liver metastasis was suspected. Neuroblastoma was confirmed by liver and placenta biopsy. Chemotherapy was started with Pediatric Oncology Group 9243 at day 7 and changed into Children's Oncology Group 3961 due to cholestasis and poor response during 2nd cycle. Plasma exchange was done for aggravated direct hyperbilirubinemia. The baby expired at 73 days due to multi-organ failure. Maternal symptoms were completely resolved in 2 weeks after delivery along with normalization of the elevated level of VMA and NME. We report a first case of mirror syndrome in Korean mother and fetus resulting from metastatic congenital neuroblastoma to placenta.

      • Investigation of nitrous acid concentration in an indoor environment using an in-situ monitoring system

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>An in-situ measurement system for the determination of nitrous acid (HONO) was developed and used at an indoor residential environment. The system uses a diffusion scrubber to sample gaseous HONO and the peroxynitrite-induced luminol chemiluminescent method to quantify the amount of HONO. In this system, the detection limit of HONO, estimated as three times the noise level of the scrubbing solution blank, was 120pptv for a 2-min integrated sample. Indoor HONO and NO<I><SUB>x</SUB></I> concentrations were determined for 7 days in the living room of an apartment with a gas range for cooking in the kitchen. Close examination of the relationships among HONO, NO, and NO<SUB>2</SUB> concentrations during both the background and combustion periods confirm that the observed HONO was formed not only by direct emission from gas combustion, but also from heterogeneous reactions of NO<SUB>2</SUB> with H<SUB>2</SUB>O on indoor surfaces. The average ratio of HONO to NO<SUB>2</SUB> over the study period was 0.12±0.05. The HONO/NO<SUB>2</SUB> concentration ratio was 0.04–0.08 during the combustion period, whereas it was 0.10–0.25 after combustion had stopped. This suggests that HONO was generated through different production processes, both during combustion and after the completion of combustion. The controlled combustion experiments indicate that the burning rate is an important factor to determine the peak HONO concentration. In darkness, HONO had a nearly constant removal rate for all of the combustion experiments, whereas the removal rates of NO and NO<SUB>2</SUB> depended on the burning rates of the gas range. Combustion experiments conducted at the fixed burning rate setting show also that ventilation decreased HONO concentration. This indicates that the airflow rate of the range hood fan is an important factor to control the concentration of indoor air pollutants.</P>

        Government encourages small size learning circle activities as a part of ‘Learning Organizing Scheme’ to enhance the performances of the company through making SME employees develop themselves by giving them vision and hope who have poor working and learning conditions. Especially as the importance of learning circle (learning shift) activities is getting bigger, diversified studies on learning circles have been made. Accordingly, this study tried to verify the effects of activation of learning circle activities in SMEs on the quality performance of the organization and propose factors related to quality performance of the company.

        Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is now the therapeutic modality for biliary as well as pancreatic diseases.The risk of Post-ERCP pancreatitis, according to the types of PD was not elucidated. The aim of this study was to investigate risk factors for post-ERCP pancreatitis, including three types of PD. Methods: This study included a total of 306 ERCPs. 93 (30%) patients with PEP, and 213 (69%) patients without PEP were enrolled. The correlation between PEP and risk factors, including PD, angle of common bile duct (CBD), endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST), canulation time, procedure time, and three types of PD were investigated by univariate and multivariate analyses. PD were classifi ed into three types by the location of ampulla of Vater: type 1 (n= 6), inside the diverticulum; type 2 (n= 79), on the margin of diverticulum; type 3 (n= 44), outside the diverticulum Results: In univariate analysis, all types of PD, type 1 PD, type 2 PD, type 3 PD had variable results for PEP (Odd ratio= 1.539, 0.898, 4.866, 0.178; p= 0.096, 0.903, 0.001, 0.001, respectively). Canulation time and total procedure time were signifi cantly related with PEP (p= 0.003, and 0.001, respectively). Age-sex adjusted multivariate analysis showed age, type 2 PD, and canulation time as independent risk factors for PEP (OR= 0.987, 6.862, and 1.046; p-values= 0.451, 0.001, and 0.006, respectively). Type 2 PD and canulation time had meaning results (AUROC= 0.675 and 0.640; p=0.001 and 0.010, respectively), followed by all types of PD, type 1 PD, and type 3 PD (AUROC= 0.495, 0.498, and 0.336; p=, 0.895, 0.965, and 0.002, respectively). Conclusions: Type 2 PD and canulation time were more potent risk factors of PEP than other factors. Prospective randomized control study in multi-center was required.
