加熱한 牛肉의 部位別 아미노酸 組成과 그 蛋白質의 品質評價

This study was conducted to analyze the amino acid composition and available lysine and to evaluate the protein quality of several parts of the cooked beef. The parts of beef used were foreshank, ox-tail and ox-stomach. Raw samples were prepared by Korean meat soup cooking method and freeze drying and amino acid composition and available lysine were measured. Protein quality was evaluated from chemical score, biological value and available lysine content of each sample. The main findings of this study will be summarized as follows: Overall distribution of amino acids in different parts of beef were almost the same. Generally, samples contained large amount of Glycine, Glutamic acid,Aspartic acid and small amount of Tryptophane, Methionine and Histidine. It was shown that foreshank part contained the highest amount of total essential amino acids and ox-tail part had the least. Especially it was interesting to note that ox-tail part had high amount of Glycine, the major component amino acids of incomplete protein, collagen. It also has been found that some amino acid such as Tryptophane were fairly reduced by boiling in foreshank part. On the other hand, Arginine, Proline, Glycine, Alanine were increased. Chemical score and biological value of boiled ox-tail part were remarkbly low compared with other parts. Availability of lysine was high in the order of ox-tail>raw foreshank>ox-stomach. Total lysine and available lysine contents were reduced by boiling.
고령환자의 대퇴전자간골절에 대한 감마정 수술후의 보행능력 회복

Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the ambulatory recovery after fixation of intertrochanteric fracture of elderly patients with Gamma nail and to analyze the factors to affect the recovery. Materials and Methods: we evaluated the ambulatory result of 64 cases of intertrochanteric fracure which were fixed with gamma nail and rehabilitated with early weight bearing protocol regardless of reduction state. We analysed the result with statisical method and tried to find the important factor for better ambulatory recovery. Results: Only 21 patients were able to recover to preinjured level of ambulation and mean loss of ambulation ability was 1.31 according to our evaluation protocol. Stastically the age and early weight bearing walking exercise was affecting factor for better recovery of ambulation and the rate of complication caused by early weight bearing was not significant. Conclusion: Fixation with Gamma nail and early weight bearing rehabilitation protocol was good choice for elderly intertrochanteric fracture without the risk of major complication.

The higher-order discretization for determining the parametric dependence in partial differential equations of diffusion-convection-reaction type is described. For approximation of space differential operators, the Stormer-Numerov formula with the O(h⁴) accuracy is used. This method turns out to be useful for investigating the parametric dependence in parabolic diffusion-convection-reaction equations representing the behavior of tubular flow reactors.

골수강내 정을 이용한 상완골 간부 골절의 치료(Seidel 정과 나사못 교합정의 비교)

Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the results of treatment of the humerus shaft fracture with interlocking IM nail. Materials & Methods: The result of IM nailing for 29 patients with humerus shaft fracture were evaluated radiologically and clinically. We tried to compare the result of Seidel nail and that of interlocking nail. Results: The results were as follows; 1. Nonunion rate was 50% in Seidel nail group and 27% in interlocking nail group(p=0.264). 2. Operation time was shorter in Seidel nail group(67.8min) than in interlocking nail group(115.4min)(p 0.002). 3. Fracture site distraction was present in 9 cases and resulted in nonunion in 8 cases. 4. Union time except the nonunion cases was 10.4weeks in Seidel nail group and 11.9weeks in interlocking nail group but was not considered to be significant due to many nonunion cases. 5. Proximal protrusion was present in 6 cases but resulted in shoulder LOM and pain in only 2 cases. Conclusion: Although the operation time in Seidel nail group was shorter than in interlocking nail group, we couldn' t find any other difference between the two nails. The results of treatment of humeral shaft fracture with interlocking nail was unsatisfactory in terms of union rate, complications, union time and functional result.
상완골 근위부 3분 및 4분 골절에 대한 수술적 치료와 보존적 치료의 결과 비교

Purpose: Majority of 3-part and 4-part fracture of proximal humerus had been treated by surgical methods. However, Surgical treatment might be inappropriate due to the medical status or combined injures of the patients. Therefore, we compared the operative treatment with the conservative treatment in 3-part and 4-part fracture of proximal humerus. Materials & Methods: Among the 39 cases of 3-part(30) and 4-part(9) fracture of proximal humerus, 22 cases(57%) were treated by conservative methods and 17 cases(43%) were treated by operative methods with T-plate, wire, arthroplasty and screw. Results: Among 30 cases of 3-part fracture of proximal humerus, according to the Neer's functional criteria, 12 cases(60%) had excellent or satisfactory result in conservative treatment and 7 cases(70%) had excellent or satisfactory result in operative treatment. In 9 cases of 4-part fracture of proximal humerus, 2 cases(100%) had poor result in conservative treatment, and 5 cases(71%) had excellent or satisfactory result in operative treatment. Conclusion: There was no difference in functional result according to the treatment modality in 3-part fracture (p$gt;0.05). but in 4-part fracture, we prefer to treat by operative methods due to avascular necrosis at humeral head and poor functional result with conservative treatment.

<P><B>Background</B></P><P>Post-contrast T1 mapping by modified Look-Locker inversion recovery (MOLLI) sequence has been introduced as a promising means to assess an expansion of the extra-cellular space. However, T1 value in the myocardium can be affected by scanning time after bolus contrast injection. In this study, we investigated the changes of the T1 values according to multiple slicing over scanning time at 15 minutes after contrast injection and usefulness of blood T1 correction.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>Eighteen reperfused acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients, 13 cardiomyopathy patients and 8 healthy volunteers underwent cardiovascular magnetic resonance with 15 minute-post contrast MOLLI to generate T1 maps. In 10 cardiomyopathy cases, pre- and post-contrast MOLLI techniques were performed to generate extracellular volume fraction (Ve). Six slices of T1 maps according to the left ventricular (LV) short axis, from apex to base, were consecutively obtained. Each T1 value was measured in the whole myocardium, infarcted myocardium, non-infarcted myocardium and LV blood cavity.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>The mean T1 value of infarcted myocardium was significantly lower than that of non-infarcted myocardium (425.4±68.1 ms vs. 540.5±88.0 ms, respectively, p< 0.001). T1 values of non-infarcted myocardium increased significantly from apex to base (from 523.1±99.5 ms to 561.1±81.1 ms, p=0.001), and were accompanied by a similar increase in blood T1 value in LV cavity (from 442.1±120.7 ms to 456.8±97.5 ms, p<0.001) over time. This phenomenon was applied to both left anterior descending (LAD) territory (from 545.1±74.5 ms to 575.7±84.0 ms, p<0.001) and non-LAD territory AMI cases (from 501.2±124.5 ms to 549.5±81.3 ms, p<0.001). It was similarly applied to cardiomyopathy patients and healthy volunteers. After the myocardial T1 values, however, were adjusted by the blood T1 values, they were consistent throughout the slices from apex to base (from 1.17±0.18 to 1.25±0.13, p>0.05). The Ve did not show significant differences from apical to basal slices.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>Post-contrast myocardial T1 corrected by blood T1 or Ve, provide more stable measurement of degree of fibrosis in non-infarcted myocardium in short- axis multiple slicing.</P>

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Spirodelae Herba pharmacopuncture(SHP) on the adipogenesis in 3T3 cells, lipolysis in rat epididymal adipocytes and histological changes in porcine adipose tissue. Methods : Inhibition of preadipocyte differentiation and/or stimulation of lipolysis play important roles in reducing obesity. 3T3 preadipocytes were differentiated with adipogenic reagents by incubating for 3 days in the absence or presence of SHP ranging from 0.01 to $1.0mg/m{\ell}$. The effect of SHP on adipogenesis was examined by measuring glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase(GPDH) activity and by Oil Red O staining. Mature adipocytes from rat epididymal fat pad was incubated with SHP ranging from 0.01 to $1.0mg/m{\ell}$ for 3 days. The effect of SHP on lipolysis was examined by measuring free glycerol released. Fat tissue from porcine skin was injected with SHP ranging from 0.1 to $10.0mg/m{\ell}$ to examine the effect of SHP onhistological changes under light microscopy. Results : Following results were obtained from the preadipocyte proliferation and lipolysis adipocyte and histologic investigation of fat tissue 1. SHP showed the effect of decreased preadipocyte proliferation on the high dosage($1mg/m{\ell}$). 2. SHP showed the effect of decreased the activity of glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) on the high dosage($1mg/m{\ell}$). 3. Investigated the changes in lipolysis of differentiated adipocyte after treated SHP, we knew that these pharmacopuncture showed increasing the effect of lipolysis in all concentration significantly. 4. Investigated the histological changes in porcine fat tissue after treated SHP, we knew that these pharmacopuncture showed significant activity to the lysis of extensive cell membranes on high dosage($10.0mg/m{\ell}$). Conclusions : These results suggest that SHP efficiently induces diminishing proliferation of preadipocyte and lipolysis in adipose tissue.
