        Comparative Systematic Review of Korea Domestic and International Studies on Sensory Integration Therapy in Patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder

        This systematic review compared Korean and international researches on sensory integration therapy in patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We targeted studies on sensory integration therapy for patients with ASD published from January 2000 through July 2016. Specifically, we analyzed the papers that used the phrase ‘sensory integration, autism’ as keywords. There were fewer Korean studies of sensory integration therapy, and the diversity of research topics were limited, focusing mainly on case studies. There was no difference between the internal/external validity of Korean and those of international studies targeting the clinical environment and patients. Further study of a variety of aspects of sensory integration therapy is needed to gain high internal/external validity.

        치매안심센터 작업치료 관련 연구동향 분석

        본 연구는 치매안심센터 작업치료 관련 연구 동향을 분석함으로써 향후 연구방향을 제시하고 치매안심센터 작업치료 전문가로서의 역량강화 및 관련 정책 수립에 활용할 수 있는 기초자료 확립방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 관련 제도 시행 이후 치매안심센터가 설치되기 시작한 2018년부터 2020년8월까지 연구 선정기준에 따라 데이터베이스에 등록된 논문을 검색하여 최종적으로 선정된 총 5편의 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 최종 선정된 연구에 대해 질적 수준, 연구 방법론, 주요 변수, 주요 주제 및 결과 분석을 실시하였다. 모든 연구가 Level Ⅳ(조사연구)에 해당하였으며, 주요 주제는 치매안심센터에 대한 인식도, 치매안심센터 작업치료사의 역할, 치매안심센터 작업치료 비용편익으로 분석되었다. 본 연구는 치매안심센터 작업치료 관련 연구동향을 분석한 첫 번째 연구로써 현재 관련 연구가 미비함을 확인하고, 향후 국내 연구 방향을 제시하는데 중요한 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to present future research directions by analyzing research trends related to occupational therapy at the dementia care center, and suggest a plan to establish basic data that can be used to strengthen competency as an occupational therapy expert at the dementia care center and establish related policies. From 2018, when the dementia care center was established after the implementation of the related system, from 2018 to Aug. 2020, we searched the papers registered in the database according to the research selection criteria, and analyzed a total of five research trends finally selected. The quality level, research methodology, major variables, major topics, and results were analyzed for the final selected studies. All studies corresponded to Level IV (research study), and the main topics were analyzed as the degree of awareness of the dementia care center, the role of the occupational therapist at the dementia care center, and the cost and benefit of the occupational therapy at the dementia care center. This study is the first study to analyze the research trends related to occupational therapy at the dementia care center, and it can be said that it has important significance in confirming that the current research is insufficient and suggesting the future direction of domestic research.

      • 중학생을 대상으로 역사적 사실을 컨텍스트로 한 디자인 창의 프로젝트

        21세기에 주도적 인간상인 창의적 인간을 양성하기 위해서는 창의적 교육이 절대적으로 필요하다. 창의적 디자인 교육은 창조적 인재를 육성하는 중요한 의의를 가지고 있다. 현재 디자인 프로젝트 접근법의 교육은 결과물에서 과정의 중점까지 영역을 확장했지만 사고의 확장, 감성적 표현의 확장까지는 미흡한 교육 방식이다. 본 연구는 중학생들에게 창의적 사고와 표현능력의 배양을 위한 프로젝트 방법을 제안 하고자 한다. 먼저, 관련 학문과 관련 연구들을 검토하여 이론적 고찰을 하였다. Douglas의 여섯 가지 A 이론을 토대로 중학생들의 특성을 고려하고, 교육 내용과 방법을 통합적으로 접근한 프로젝트 접근법 수업방식을 작성하였다. 본 연구 결과 세계역사를 통해 여러 문화를 배우고 그 지식을 바탕으로 디자인의 다양한 영역을 접목하고 창의력을 통하여 프로젝트를 진행함으로써 모든 실생활에서도 프로젝트를 적용 할 수 있는 능력을 키울 수 있으며, 다양한 감성적 표현을 통하여 표현확장과 감성적 접근 방법을 터득 할 수 있다. A creative person that has a leading role in the 21st century should be cultivated by creative education. Creative design education is greatly meaningful to cultivate creativity. Although current design project approach has expanded the range from results to processes it is not enough to be an enlargement of thinking & power of expression. This study seeks to cultivate creative thinking and expressions of middle school students by various emotional activities on design. First, did theoretical ancient temple about related studies. Considering characteristics of middle school students on the basis of Douglas' Six A theories and explaining project approach schooling by integrating contents and skills. The results show that project is useful for middle school students to bring up the applicability to their daily life and understand expansional expression and emotional approach by raising originality from learning diverse cultures through world history and integrating various fields of design.

        Network Analysis Revealed the Role of Helplessness as a Central Feature Among Late-Life Depressive Symptoms in Patients With Mild Cognitive Impairment and Early Stage Dementia

        Objective It has been reported that depressive symptoms in older adults are different from those in younger adults, especially when accompanied by cognitive decline. However, few studies have investigated the network structure of depressive symptoms in this population.Methods The participants consisted of 627 older adults (>60 yr) who were diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early stage dementia. Among them, 36.7% were male and the mean age was 76.20±7.71 years. The Korean form of Geriatric Depression Scale (KGDS) was used to evaluate their depressive symptoms and network analyses were performed using bootnet R-package to identify the central features among depressive symptoms.Results Of all the KGDS items, we found that KGDS 2 (often feel helpless) had the highest node strength followed by KGDS 21 (in good spirits), KGDS 14 (not confident at all), and KGDS 15 (cheerful and happy). In terms of node betweenness, KGDS 2 also showed the highest value. The edge weights of edges connected to node KGDS 2 were strongest in KGDS 3 (restless and fidgety) and KGDS 28 (easily get tired).Conclusion In this study, we presented which symptoms are central among the elderly with MCI and early stage dementia. This result not only increases the understanding of depressive symptoms in this group but would also help determine target symptoms in the treatment program.

        The term of Green, from the viewpoint of various agreements and concerns at home and abroad, forms a certain paradigm. In building industry, many approaches such as energy-zero house have been evaluated to accomplish the greenhouse gas reduction goal. Many countries of Europe introduced the concept of the Passive House to reduce greenhouse gas emission in the construction sector. Passive House makes building more airtight and install lower U-value walls and windows. And most important purpose is to prevent the decline of indoor air quality. To improve indoor thermal comfort is the most important purpose. In this study, Europe’s Passive House design and ventilation standard is summarized.

        Nd-저감/대체 희토류 영구자석 개발 동향

        Nd-Fe-B 희토류 영구자석은 1983년 개발된 이후로 지금까지 상용자석 중 가장 높은 자기적 특성을 가지고 있어 수많은 산업 분야에서 핵심 소재로 적용되어 왔다. 특히 전기/하이브리드 자동차의 보급에 따른 전기모터의 소형화, 경량화, 고효율화에 대한 요구는 고특성 Nd-Fe-B 영구자석의 의존도를 더욱 증대시켰다. 하지만 2025년 네오디뮴(Nd)에 대한 수요가 공급을 넘어설 것으로 예측되고 있으며, 희토류 원소 보유국의 자원전략화 등으로 인한 희토류 공급/가격 리스크를 고려하였을 때 Nd-Fe-B 자석에 대한 의존도를 낮추는 방향으로 가야만 한다. 이에 대한 해결책으로 Nd 대신 세륨(Ce), 란타넘(La), 사마륨(Sm)과 같이 자원이 풍부하거나 시장에 과공급 되어있는 희토류 원소를 적극적으로 사용할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 글에서는 Nd를 Ce, La 등의 경희토류 원소로 대체하는 ‘Nd-저감형 희토류 영구자석’과 Nd를 완전히 배제하는 Sm-Co, Sm-Fe(-N) 등과 같은 ‘Nd-free 희토류 영구자석’ 소재의 제조 기술과 연구 동향에 대해 다루고, 이 소재들의 상용자석으로서의 가능성을 살펴보고자 한다. Since the development of Nd-Fe-B based rare-earth permanent magnet in 1983, it has become indispensable materials in various industries, owing to their unparalleled magnetic properties among commercial magnets. Especially, the proliferation of electric/hybrid vehicles and demands for downsizing, lightweighting, and high efficiency of electric motors have further increased the reliance on high-performance Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets. However, it is predicted that the demand for neodymium (Nd) will surpass the supply by 2025, and considering the risks of rare earth supply/price due to the resource strategies of rare earth-rich countries, it is necessary to reduce the dependence on Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets. As a viable solution, active utilization of rare earth elements such as cerium (Ce), lanthanum (La), and samarium (Sm), which are abundant or oversupplied in the market, instead of Nd, is needed. Therefore, we will discuss the manufacturing technology and research trends of ‘Nd-reduced rare earth permanent magnets’ replacing Nd with Ce, La, and ‘Nd-free rare earth permanent magnets’ such as Sm-Co, Sm-Fe(-N), and explores their potential as commercial magnets.

        Recently, the bio-healthcare market is enlarging worldwide due to various reasons such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Among them, biometric measurement and analysis technology are expected to bring about future technological innovation and socio-economic ripple effect. Existing systems require a large-capacity battery to drive signal processing, wireless transmission part, and an operating system in the process. However, due to the limitation of the battery capacity, it causes a spatio-temporal limitation on the use of the device. This limitation can act as a cause for the disconnection of data required for the user's health care monitoring, so it is one of the major obstacles of the health care device. In this study, we report the concept of a standalone healthcare monitoring module, which is based on both triboelectric effects and electromagnetic effects, by converting biomechanical energy into suitable electric energy. The proposed system can be operated independently without an external power source. In particular, the wireless foot pressure measurement monitoring system, which is rationally designed triboelectric sensor (TES), can recognize the user’s walking habits through foot pressure measurement. By applying the triboelectric effects to the contact-separation behavior that occurs during walking, an effective foot pressure sensor was made, the performance of the sensor was verified through an electrical output signal according to the pressure, and its dynamic behavior is measured through a signal processing circuit using a capacitor. In addition, the biomechanical energy dissipated during walking is harvested as electrical energy by using the electromagnetic induction effect to be used as a power source for wireless transmission and signal processing. Therefore, the proposed system has a great potential to reduce the inconvenience of charging caused by limited battery capacity and to overcome the problem of data disconnection.

        Patient Anxiety and Communication Experience in the Emergency Department: A Mobile, Web-Based, Mixed-Methods Study on Patient Isolation During the COVID-19 Pandemic

        Background: Anxiety and communication difficulties in the emergency department (ED) may increase for various reasons, including isolation due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, little research on anxiety and communication in EDs exists. This study explored the isolation-related anxiety and communication experiences of ED patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A prospective mixed-methods study was conducted from May to August 2021 at the Samsung Medical Center ED, Seoul. There were two patient groups: isolation and control. Patients measured their anxiety using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI X1) at two time points, and we surveyed patients at two time points about factors contributing to their anxiety and communication experiences. These were measured through a mobile web-based survey. Researchers interviewed patients after their discharge. Results: ED patients were not anxious regardless of isolation, and there was no statistical significance between each group at the two time points. STAI X1 was 48.4 (standard deviation [SD], 8.0) and 47.3 (SD, 10.9) for early follow-up and 46.3 (SD, 13.0) and 46.2 (SD, 13.6) for late follow-up for the isolation and control groups, respectively. The clinical process was the greatest factor contributing to anxiety as opposed to the physical environment or communication. Communication was satisfactory in 71.4% of the isolation group and 66.7% of the control group. The most important aspects of communication were information about the clinical process and patient status. Conclusion: ED patients were not anxious and were generally satisfied with medical providers’ communication regardless of their isolation status. However, patients need clinical process information for anxiety reduction and better communication.

        Silica aerogels are intensively investigated since the past decade for a diverse range of application due to their high surface area, low density, open pore structure and excellent insulation properties. Silica aerogels with high thermal insulation performance mixed with acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives(PSA) applied between the window layers can reduce the coefficient of overall heat transmission of the window. A mixture of the adhesives and silica aerogels attached film can reduce thermal conductivity. Thermal conductivity was measured by a TCi thermal conductivity analyzer.
