        To determine the effects of lime and phosphate on dry matter yield and mineral content in mixed sward in Cheju volcanic ash soil from October 1983 to the end of growing season in 1986 . The pH in soil was not affected by lime and phosphate applied, hut exchangeable Ca, Mg and available P were increased h y liming and phosphate levels. Average mean dry matter yield of lime plot was more increased 5% than that non-lime plot, and dry matter yield according to the phosphate (0, 20, 40, 60 kg/10a) applications were significantly increased 488.3kg. 1,024kg, 1,137.0 kg and 1,202.2 kg, respectively. Botanical composition in non-phosphate plot was dominated by Red top but Ladino clover was almost disappearanced However, phosphate applied plot were dominated by Orchard grass and lading clover 50-60 % and 15-20 %, respectively. Mineral (P, K, Ca, Mg) content in herbage were not different between lime and non-lime plot. But P, Ca and Mg were increased according to the phosphate levels.

        New Cholinesterase Inhibitor, Lipoic Acid-Nitrone Derivatives

        Lipoic acid (LA) is a multifunctional antioxidant against a variety of ROS. Nitrone acts as free radical spin trap and exhibits neuroprotective activity. Thus, LA-nitrone derivatives (6, 7, 8, and 9) were synthesized and screened as an antioxidant and inhibitors for cholinesterases. Even though the antioxidant effect of LA-nitrone derivatives was not improved, they turned out to be effective inhibitors of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE) in μM range.

      • Effect of Glycerol and DMA on Alanyl Glutamine Diluent for Semen in Ogye(Korea Native Black Chicken)

        Cryopreservation of avian semen is a useful tool to preserve genetic resource for aim of preventing extinction induced by infectious disease like avian influenza. Unlike those of mammals, data from chicken cryopreserved semen has not been showed feasible results. So, various cryoprotectants and diluents have been examined in many methods. In this report, as a major ingredient of avian seminal plasm, glutamine was substituted by alanyl glutamine to enhance physiological stability of chicken semen during freezing. We studied effect of glycerol and Dimethylacetamide(DMA) on motility and progressive motility of spermatozoa using glutamine diluent(EK-G) or alanyl glutamine diluent(EK-A) condition. The semen of Ogye was collected twice a week by the dorso-abdominimal massage method and diluted with same volume of EK-G or EK-A at 25℃ and stored for 10 min at 4℃ in cold chamber. Glycerol or DMA was added to diluted semen to reached 7% of final concentration at 4℃. After 3min of equilibration, the diluted semen was packed into 0.25ml straws and subjected to cryopreservation used freezing equipment. The packed straw were placed on height 5 cm above surface of liquid nitrogen(LN2) and held for 10min. After preserved for 2 weeks, the straw was thawed onto the 4℃ cooling bath. The images of motility and progressive motility spermatozoa were recorded by digital image recorder and analyzed by manual. The results showed 68.5% motility and 34.1% progressive motility in DMA/EKA diluent, 31.45% and 17.6% in glycerol/EKA, 45.4% and 8.6% in DMA/EKG, and 9.7% and 6.4% in glycerol/EKG. With these results, the alanyl glutamine and DMA could be used as a main composition of diluent and cryoprotectant for cryopreservation of chicken semen.

        Leaf mesophyll protoplasts isolated from A. wakegi were fused with protoplasts derived from young leaf sheath bases of A. fistulosum. The somatic hybrid cells were cultured in 8p-KM medium (4M glucose, 0.1M mannitol, 0.4 ㎎/ℓ 2,4-D, 2 ㎎/ℓ NAA and 1 ㎎/ℓ BAP). During subsequent addition of fresh medium, the nitrogen source was replaced with 1 gm/ℓ glutamine and NAA was reduced to 1 ㎎/ℓ and 0.1 ㎎/ℓ respectively, After 11 days, MS medium(30 gm/ℓ sucrose, 0.1 ㎎/ℓ NAA and 1 ㎎/ℓ BAP) was added in three days intervel upto 40-60 days till micro calli (3㎜) were obtained.

        Alteration of HMW Glutenin Subunits in Wheat Lines Possessing New 1BL.1RS Translocation

        High molecular weight glutenin subunits are the main components of wheat storage proteins. We previously obtained a wheat line, Yw62-11, which possesses the 1BL.1RS translocation in backcross F_6 progenies of the hybrid of wheat Olmil and rye Paldanghomil. In an SDS-sedimentation test, BC₁F_8 lines derived from Yw62-11 exhibited significantly elevated sedimentation volumes compared to the parent wheat Olmil. In an attempt to ascertain the cause of this disparity in sedimentation volume, we analyzed the endosperm proteins of the BC1F8 lines. SDS-PAGE revealed that the HMW glutenin subunits of the parent Olmil had been altered in the segregating lines. The subunits 2.2x + 12y at the Glu-ID locus in Olmil were transformed into subunits 5x + l0y in all BC1F8 lines, and the subunits 7x + 8y at the Glu-IB locus were segregated into 7x + 9y in some lines. In addition, some lines expressed subunit 1, which was silenced at the lAx gene in Olmil. These results constituted the first report that HMW glutenin subunits were altered in segregating wheat lines, even if the changes arose from the backcross of an intergeneric hybrid. Acid-PAGE showed that the secalin compositions of the new 1BL.1RS translocation lines could not be discriminated from the secalin compositions in IRS of rye Petkus, the main source of IRS in most contemporary wheat varieties.

        감산형 간섭제거기법을 적용한 DS-CDMA 다중사용자 검파기의 성능 분석

        본 논문에서는 비교적 구조가 간단하고 계산량이 적어 시스템에 적용하기가 쉬운 감산형 간섭제거 (subtractive interference cancellation) 기법의 대표적인 방식인 순차 간섭제거(SIC : Successive Interference Cancellation) 기법과 병렬 간섭제거(PIC : Parallel Interference Cancellation) 기법의 성능을 분석하고, 이들을 결합한 복합 간섭제거(HIC : Hybrid Interference Cancellation) 기법의 성능을 분석한다. 잡음과 MAI (Multiple Access Interference)가 존재하는 채널환경에서 간섭제거를 위해 데이터를 추정할 때 연판정(soft decision)을 수행하는 SIC 기법과 HIC 기법의 오율식을 각각 유도하고, 각 간섭제거 방식의 성능을 수치계산과 시뮬레이션을 통해 각각 구하여 비교, 분석하였다. 그 결과, HIC 기법은 전력제어의 완전성 여부에 관계없이 다른 방식들에 비해 MAI를 효과적으로 제거하여 BER(Bit Error Rate) 성능을 향상시키며 시스템의 용량도 증가시킴을 알 수 있었다. 그 이유는 HIC 기법에서 전단에 사용하는 SIC에 의해 불완전 전력제어 하에서 발생되는 원근문제 (near-far problem)가 해결되고, 후단에 사용하는 PIC에 의해 성능 개선이 이루어질 수 있기 때문이다. In this paper, we have analyzed the BER (Bit Error Rate) performance of multi-user detectors employing SIC(Successive Interference Cancellation) and PIC (Parallel Interference Cancellation) which are the representative schemes in the subtractive interference cancellation. We have considered the MUD structure employing HIC (Hybrid Interference Cancellation) which combines SIC with PIC scheme, and then analyzed the BER performance. We have evaluated the BER performance of SIC and HIC schemes which execute the soft decision to generate the tentative data bit for the purpose of the interference cancellation in MAI and decision to generate the tentative data bit for the purpose of the interference cancellation in MAI and noise environments. Through the numerical analysis and computer simulation, it is shown that HIC can remove the effect of MAI more efficiently than the others, that improve the BER performance and increase the capacity of DS-CDMA systems regardless of the power control conditions. The reason is that the SIC scheme in front of HIC can solve the near-far problem caused by the imperfect power control and PIC scheme in the rear of it can improve the performance much more.

        바이애슬론 스프린트 종목의 우수선수와 비우수선수 간 경기력 요인 비교

        본 연구의 목적은 2019-2020 시즌 바이애슬론 유럽선수권(남자 118명, 여자 103명)과 세계선수권(남자 107명, 여자 101명) 대회에 출전한 남녀 스프린트(Sprint) 종목 우수선수(상위 40명)와 비우수선수(하위 40명) 간 경기력 요인을 비교하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 유럽선수권과 세계선수권 대회에 참가한 남녀 스프린트 선수들을 대상으로 상위 40명(유럽과 세계 남녀 각 1~40위)과 하위 40명(유럽 남자: 79~118위, 유럽 여자: 64~103위, 세계 남자: 68~107위, 세계 여자: 62~101위)으로 구분하여 비교하였다. 경기력 비교항목은 경기기록, 사격시간, 사격 성공률, 코스시간, 코스속도, 패널티시간, 나이, 경력, 시작나이 등으로 한정하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 바이애슬론 유럽선수권 대회 남자 스프린트 경기(10km) 분석결과, 남자 우수 스프린트 선수는 경기기록(1497.8초), 사격시간(총-59.4초, 평균-29.7초), 사격 성공률(86%), 코스시간(총-1354.5초, 평균-451.5초), 평균 코스속도(7.4m/초), 패널티시간(41.2초), 나이(26.8세), 경력(12.7년) 요인에서 우위를 나타내었다. 여자 스프린트 경기(7.5km) 분석결과, 여자 우수 스프린트 선수는 경기기록(1444.8초), 사격시간(총-61.0초, 평균-30.5초), 사격 성공률(87.3%), 코스시간(총-1288.3초, 평균-429.4초), 평균 코스속도(5.8m/초), 패널티시간(47.3초), 신장(166.1cm) 요인에서 우위를 나타내었다. 2. 바이애슬론 세계선수권 대회의 스프린트 경기 분석결과, 남자 우수 스프린트(10km) 선수는 경기기록(1444.3초), 사격시간(총-55.2초, 평균-27.6초), 사격 성공률(87.1%), 코스시간(총-1306.5초, 평균-435.5초), 평균 코스속도(7.7m/초), 패널티시간(42.4초), 나이(28.5세), 경력(15.2년), 시작나이(13.4세) 요인에서 우수하였다. 여자 우수 스프린트(7.5km) 선수는 경기기록(1334.2초), 사격시간(총-63.0초, 평균-31.5초), 사격 성공률(82.5%), 코스시간(총-1167.6초, 평균-389.2초), 평균 코스속도(6.4m/초), 패널티시간(59.3초), 나이(28.5세) 요인에서 우위를 나타내었다. 결론적으로 바이애슬론 유럽선수권과 세계선수권 대회의 스프린트 종목에서는 남녀 모두 경기력이 우수할수록 빠른 주행 능력과 빠르고 정확한 사격 능력을 골고루 갖추었다. 성별 특성에서는 여자선수들에 비해 남자선수들에서만 긴 경력과 많은 나이가 중요한 경기력 요인으로 작용하였다. The purpose of this study is to compare the performance factors of the excellent and non-excellent athletes in biathlon sprint events who participated in 2019-2020 Biathlon European Championships (118 men and 103 women) and 2019-2020 Biathlon World Championships (107 men and 101 women). For this purpose, male and female athletes who participated in the biathlon sprint events in the 2019-2020 European Championships and the World Championships were divided into the top 40 and the bottom 40 and compared. Comparison factors were limited to record, shooting time, shooting success rate, course time, course speed, penalty time, age, career, and starting age. The comparison result is as follows. 1. As a result of analyzing the men"s sprint (10km) of the Biathlon European Championships, the male excellent sprinters showed an advantage in the record, shooting time (total, average), shooting success rate, course time (total, average), average course speed, penalty time, age and career factors. As a result of the analysis of women"s sprint (7.5km), there was a significant difference between excellent and non-excellent athletes in record, shooting time (total, average), shooting success rate, course time (total, average), average course speed, penalty time, and height. 2. As a result of the sprint match analysis of the Biathlon World Championship, in the men"s sprint match (10km), the record, shooting time (total, average), shooting success rate, course time (total, average), average course speed, penalty time, age, career, and starting age showed significant differences between excellent and non-excellent players. In women"s sprint (7.5km), significant differences between excellent and non-excellent athletes in record, shooting time (total, average), shooting success rate, course time (total, average), average course speed, penalty time, and age. 2019-2020 Biathlon European Championships and the World Championships, both men and women have a faster skiing ability and a faster and accurate shooting ability as they have excellent performance. Especially, only male players had a long career and high age as important performance factors compared to female players.

        Cutaneous metastases rarely develop in patients with internal malignancy. Cholangiocarcinoma, a malignant cancer of the bile duct, is a relatively rare adenocarcinoma and has a poor prognosis. Few reports have mentioned cutaneous metastases of cholangiocarcinoma, and the most of them were due to direct tumor seeding by percutaneous procedures. Herein, we report a case of cholangiocarcinoma with distant cutaneous metastases in a 60-year-old man. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2009;54:342-345)
