        인터넷을 통한 남북통일교육에 대한 소고

        2008년 현 정부 이전의 정부가 추진해 온 남북한의 화해협력정책은 교류협력의 발전을 위한 제도적 기초를 놓았고 동시에 평화위협을 제거하는 잠정적인 성과를 거두었다. 그리고 현 정부는 화해협력정책의 연장선상에서 한반도의 평화 증진과 남북의 공동번영을 통해 평화통일의 기반을 마련하는 평화번영정책을 추진하고 있다. 특히 2000년 6월과 2007년 10월 남북한 정상회담 이후 사회적 현상으로써 인터넷에 김정일을 형상화한 캐릭터가 돌아다니는 등 예전에는 상상하기 힘든일들이 대수롭지 않아지는 계기가 되었다. 당시 이러한 관심은 인터넷을 통해 다양한 형태로 나타나면서 하나의 문화 현상을 보이기도 하였다. 이제 우리는 과거 일방적인 통일에 대한 기대와 이에 따른 통일교육도 이제 새로운 전기를 마련해야 할 것으로 판단하는데, 아직까지도 우리 사회에서 통일문제에 대해 다양한 인식과 견해들이 표출되고있다.이러한 국민들의 의식을 하나로 통합하고자 통일교육의 새로운 방안으로 우리는 인터넷 활용을 적극적으로 추진할 필요가 있다. 통일교육의 새로운 방안인 인터넷의 활용은 대중이 직접 참여함으로써 프로그램 내용의 질적 변화와 방법적 변화의 효과를 가져다 줄 수 있을 것 이다. 사이버를 활용한 통일교육은 정보화 시대에 가장 적합한 교육으로 더욱 큰 효과를 가져다 줄 것으로 본다. 즉 인터넷을 통한 통일교육은 수요자 중심의 맞춤형 교육이므로 순기능적 측면을 최대한 이용 한다면 어떠한 정보 매체보다도 가장 활용도가 높고 오늘날 이 시대에 부합하는 교육방법 중의 하나일 것이다. The policy for the South-North Conciliation and Cooperation conducted since the launch of the former president Kim’s administration laid a solid foundation for the systematic development of further exchanges and cooperation between two Koreas, and yielded tangible results of eliminating threats to peace at the same time. In addition, the current Participatory Government is driving forward with the policy for peace and prosperity, which will establish a sound basis for the peaceful Unification by promoting peace and mutual prosperity on the Korean Peninsula, extended from the policy for the South-North Conciliation and Cooperation. In this regard, it is considered that a huge transition is under way for the existing Unification education of unilateral expectations for the Unification the past. Still, the Korean society is witnessing that a variety of views and opinions are emerging on the issue of Unification. It is natural, of course, that diverse opinions are shared by citizens in a free democracy. But it is surprising that there are many who question even the validity of the Unification. This paper aims to integrate people’s awareness about the Unification into unity, and carry out a new method for the Unification education, by making the best use of broadcasting and Internet. As part of new methods of the Unification education, the broadcasting media will serve as a catalyst to make qualitative and methodological changes for the education program by facilitating the direct participation by people. I understand that the web-based Unification education is the best form for education in a new era of informatization and telecommunication. As it is a customized education devoted for users, it is my view that it will be the most appropriate educational method with the highest level of exploitation rather than any other information media.

      • Anisotropic Terahertz Emission from Bi <sub>2</sub> Se <sub>3</sub> Thin Films with Inclined Crystal Planes

        <P>We investigate the surface states of topological insulator (TI) Bi<SUB>2</SUB>Se<SUB>3</SUB> thin films grown on Si nanocrystals and Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> substrates by using terahertz (THz) emission spectroscopy. Compared to bulk crystalline Bi<SUB>2</SUB>Te<SUB>2</SUB>Se, film TIs exhibit distinct behaviors in the phase and amplitude of emitted THz radiation. In particular, Bi<SUB>2</SUB>Se<SUB>3</SUB> grown on Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> shows an anisotropic response with a strong modulation of the THz signal in its phase. From x-ray diffraction, we find that the crystal plane of the Bi<SUB>2</SUB>Se<SUB>3</SUB> films is inclined with respect to the plane of the Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> substrate by about 0.27°. This structural anisotropy affects the dynamics of photocarriers and hence leads to the observed anisotropic response in the THz emission. Such relevance demonstrates that THz emission spectroscopy can be a sensitive tool to investigate the fine details of the surface crystallography and electrostatics of thin film TIs.</P>

        가미소요산의 새로운 제형에 대한 항산화 활성 및 항염증 효능평가

        Objectives : Gamisoyosan (GMS) is a useful prescription for treating insomnia, dysmenorrhea and infertility induced by a stress. Also, GMS has been used traditionally to improve systemic circulation and biological energy production. The purpose of this study was to assess the anti-oxidant activity and anti-inflammatory effects of Gamisoyosan Formulation (Soft extract, GMS-SE). Methods : The biological activities such as anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects were measured through cell line-based in vitro assay. We investigated the anti-oxidant properties of GMS-SE on the 1,1-diphenyl- 2-picryhydrazyl (DPPH) radical, contents of total flavonoid and polyphenol. GMS-SE compared to butyl hydroxy anizole (BHA). Furthermore, based on this result the anti-inflammatory effects of GMS-SE have verified by mechanism from LPS- treated Raw264.7 macrophages. Results : The anti-oxidant activities of GMS-SE increased markedly, in a dose-dependent manner. The GMS-SE showed significant scavenging activity (GMS-SE 500 ㎍/㎖ : 32.77±1.65%, GMS-SE 1000 ㎍/㎖ : 45.06±1.04% and BHA 100 ㎍/㎖ : 39.25±2.41% for DPPH assay). and, The total phenolic compound and flavonoids contents of GMS-SE were 73.93±6.87 ㎍/㎎ and 698.75±6.78 ㎍/㎎. GMS-SE which is LPS has diminished in the LPS-induced release of inflammatory mediators (NO, iNOS, COX2 and PGE2) and pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β) from the RAW264.7 macrophages. Moreover, GMS-SE inhibited the activation of phosphorylation of p38 and ERK MAPKs by induced LPS. Conclusion : The present results indicate that GMS-SE has an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, therefore may be beneficial in diseases which related to oxidative stress-mediated inflammatory disorders.

        The Predictors and Clinical Impact of Positive Resection Margins on Frozen Section in Gastric Cancer Surgery

        Purpose: The aim of this study is to compare the characteristics of tumor and prognosis, depending on the status of resection margin involvement, on the frozen section diagnosis in gastric cancer. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted retrospectively, in 83 margin-positive patients on the frozen section diagnosis, who underwent gastrectomy from July 1995 to September 2006. The control group was selected by matching the age, gender, TNM stage and status of adjuvant chemoradiotherapy, among those who had shown clear resection margins. The characteristics of tumor and patient survival are investigated, and they were analyzed between the two groups. Results: The tumor size was significantly larger in the study group than that of the control group (P=0.037). There was significant difference between the two groups in location of the tumors (P=0.003). Multivariate analysis indicated that only the location and Lauren's classification are independent factors, which affected the resection margin involvement. Median survival was $41.0{\pm}11.5$ months in the study group and $93.0{\pm}30.3$ months in the control group (P=0.049). In the survival analysis, it was investigated that TNM stage and the resection margin involvement of the frozen section diagnosis were the critical variables. Conclusions: When the tumor is located at the middle or the upper third, or the Lauren's indeterminate type, they are highly likely to show the resection margin involvement on the frozen section diagnosis, and it can, therefore, have negative effects on the prognosis. It is considered as good to perform more extensive resection as possible, during the initial resection.

        Clinical Efficacy of Radiation-Sterilized Allografts for Sellar Reconstruction after Transsphenoidal Surgery

        Objective : The aim of this study was to assess the safety and efficacy of radiation-sterilized allografts of iliac bone and fascia lata from cadaver specimens to repair skull base defects after transsphenoidal surgery. Methods : Between May 2009 and January 2010, 31 consecutive patients underwent endonasal transsphenoidal surgery and all patients received sellar reconstruction using allografts following tumor removal. The allografts were obtained from the local tissue bank and harvested from cadaver donors. The specimens used in our approach were tensor fascia lata and the flat area of iliac bone. For preparation, allografts were treated with gamma irradiation after routine screening by culture, and then stored at $-70^{\circ}C$. Results : The mean follow-up period after surgery was 12.6 months (range, 7.4-16 months). Overall, postoperative cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks occurred in three patients (9.7%) and postoperative meningitis in one patient (3.2%). There was no definitive evidence of wound infection at the routine postoperative follow-up examination or during re-do surgery in three patients. Postoperative meningitis in one patient was improved with the use of antibiotics and prolonged CSF diversion. Conclusion : We suggest that allograft materials can be a feasible alternative to autologous tissue grafts for sellar reconstruction following transsphenoidal surgery under selected circumstances such as no or little intraoperative CSF leaks.

        Effects of Methyl Gallate on Arachidonic Acid Metabolizing Enzymes: Cyclooxygenase-2 and 5-Lipoxygenase in Mouse Bone Marrow-Derived Mast Cells

        Methyl gallate (MG) is a medicinal herbal product that is isolated from Paeonia lactiflora that inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) dependent phases of prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) generation in bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMC) in a concentration-dependent manner with an IC50 values of 17.0 μM. This compound also found inhibited the COX-2-dependent conversion of the exogenous arachidonic acid to PGD2 in a dose-dependent manner with an IC50 values of 19.0 μM, using a COX enzyme assay kit. However, at concentrations up to 80 μM, MG did not inhibit COX-2 protein expression in BMMC, indicating that MG inhibits COX-2 activity directly. Furthermore, MG consistently inhibited the production of leukotriene C4 (LTC4) in a dose dependent manner, with an IC50 value of 5.3 μM. These results demonstrate that MG has a dual cyclooxygenase-2/5-lipoxygenase inhibitory activity, which might provide the basis for novel anti-inflammatory drugs.

        CASE REPORT : A Case of Ischemic Colitis Presenting as Bloody Diarrhea after Glycerin Enema

        Enema has frequently been used for diagnostic or therapeutic purpose. However, cases of colitis from physical, chemical, and thermal injury due to enema have been reported. In severe cases, life threatening complications (perforation, rupture, peritonitis, etc.) may occasionally occur. Reports of ischemic colitis after enema is rare and there have been only 1 case of ischemic colitis after normal saline enema reported in South Korea. Sigmoidoscopy on a 58 year old female, presenting with sudden abdominal pain and hematochezia after glycerin enema, revealed ischemic injury of the rectosigmoid colon, which was improved after using antibiotics and conservative therapy.         Acupuncture and Spontaneous Regression of a Radiculopathic Cervical Herniated Disc

        The spontaneous regression of herniated cervical discs is not a well-established phenomenon. However, we encountered a case of a spontaneous regression of a severe radiculopathic herniated cervical disc that was treated with acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and herb medicine. The symptoms were improved within 12 months of treatment. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) conducted at that time revealed marked regression of the herniated disc. This case provides an additional example of spontaneous regression of a herniated cervical disc documented by MRI following non-surgical treatment.
