A Research on the Usability Evaluation of AV Player with Virtual Reality Application

Since the end of the 20th century, the usability of a product has been highly emphasized such that companies in developed countries have established exclusive groups of experts to research usability. In addition, they have spent an enormous amount of funds to avail the differentiated convenience of their own products. The usability of a product means designing a user-friendly product which a consumer can use conveniently, and companies have used the evaluation system for the usability-oriented users in a lab to use the actual products and evaluating the pros and cons of products. Yet, this system requires budgeting for the establishment of experiment and bringing subjects (users) who live in various locations to the lab, and the relevant conditions might result in the usability outcome which the users experienced in their unfamiliar settings. For this study, the so-called AV Player usability evaluation system was showcased in virtual reality in order to solve the problem mentioned above, and also proving that this experiment in virtual reality could result in the same effect as the former experiments which have used the actual products and working mock-up sessions for the purposes of the usability evaluation.
지충이 추출물의 항산화, 항균 활성 및 물리적 특성에 미치는 감마선 조사의 영향

지충이(Sargssum thunbergii) 분말 및 에탄올과 물 추출물에 감마선 조사를 실시한 후, 추출물의 항산화, 항균활성 및 물리적 특성 변화를 알아보았다. 그 결과, 지충이 분말에 감마선 조사를 하였을 때, 조사선량에 따라 물 추출물의 수율과 페놀함량이 증가 하였으며, DPPH 라디칼 소거능은 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 감마선 조사한 지충이 추출물의 열과 pH 처리에 따른 페놀함량과 DPPH 라디칼 소거능 변화를 측정한 결과, 열 및 pH 처리에 안정한 항산화 활성을 보였다. 감마선 조사에 따른 항균활성 측정결과, 5종의 그람 양성균에 대해 조사선량에 따른 활성의 차이를 보이지 않았다. 한편, 감마선 조사에 따른 색도 및 점도 변화를 알아본 결과, 색도와 점도는 감마선 조사선량의 증가에 따라 유의적으로 감소하였다. 이상의 결과를 통해 감마선 조사는 지충이 추출물의 항산화 및 항균활성 등의 생리활성은 유지시키면서 수율의 증진과 색도 및 점도의 개선을 통해 추출물의 가공적성을 향상시켜 기능성 식품소재로서 적용 가능성을 보여주었다. This study was carried out to determine the effect of gamma irradiation (3-20 kGy) on the antioxidant, antimicrobial activities and physical characteristics of Sargassum thunbergii (ST) extracts. When ST powder was treated by gamma irradiation, the yields and total phenolic compounds (TPC) of water extracts were increased, but radical scavenging activities were not changed. When ST extract was irradiated, the TPC and DPPH radical scavenging activities were increased. In addition, gamma irradiation of ST extract decreased viscosity and removed color. These results suggest that gamma irradiation would be a useful method for improving the physical characteristics of ST extract while maintaining native biological activities.

This study was performed to examine the shelf life and qualities of wet noodle with Morus alba L. root and Curcuma aromatica extracts (MCE) during storage at 4oC. Lightness and redness of wet noodle were decreased with increasing amounts of MCE added in noodle while yellowness was increased. The viable cell and molds count of wet noodle with MCE was reduced about 1~2 ? cycle as compared with control during storage time. Also the TBARS (thiobarbituric acid reactive substance) value of wet noodle with MCE was lower than that of control. Hence the wet noodle with MCE has shown remarkable antioxidation effect. In sensory evaluation, the wet noodle containing the ratio of 2.5:0.02 of M. alba : C. aromatica was preferred than the control. From these results, the addition of 2.5% of M. alba and 0.02% of C. aromatica extracts in wet noodle had a good effect on improvement of preservation and development of quality.

본 연구에서는 국내 자생 해조류인 모자반의 항균활성을 조사하기 위하여 paper disc법과 MIC(Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) test를 이용하여 식품의 부패 및 식중독 관련 미생물 16종에 대한 항균활성을 조사하였다. 그 결과 물추출물에서는 항균효과를 나타내지 않았으나 에탄올 추출물은 4 ㎎/㎖ 농도에서 실험에 사용된 모든 그람 양성균, Saccharomyces cerevisiae와 Candida tropicalis에 대해 항균활성을 나타내었는데, 특히 Bacillus subtilis, Clostridium perfringens, Listeria inoccua 및 Listeria monocytogenes 및 C. tropicalis에 대하여 높은 항균활성을 보였다. 그러나 그람 음성균, Candida albicans 및 곰팡이 2종에는 항균 효과가 나타나지 않았다. 모자반 에탄올 조추출물에 대한 MIC test를 실시한 결과, 0.0063% 농도에서 C. perfringens와 C. tropicalis의 생육을 억제하였으며, 0.0125% 농도에서 L. monocytogenes의 생육을 억제하였다. 또한 0.025% 농도에서 B. subtilis, L.inoccua 및 Lactobacillus plantarum의 생육을 효과적으로 억제하였다. 열 및 pH 안정성 실험결과, 121℃에서 15분간 열처리와 pH 2-10 처리에도 항균활성이 감소하지 않는 것으로 보아 모자반 에탄올 추출물은 열과 pH에 비교적 안정하다고 사료된다. The antimicrobial activity of Sargassum fulvellum (SF) was investigated using the agar diffusion assay and MIC test. In addition, the stability of this activity under extreme heat and pH conditions was examined. The SF ethanol extract was shown to display strong antimicrobial activities against B. subtilis, C. perfringens, L. plantarum, S. aureus, L. monocytogenes, S. cerevisae and C. tropicalis in the agar diffusion assay at the concentration of 4 ㎎/㎖. The MIC value of the SF ethanol extract against the tested microbes ranged from 0.05 to 0.0063%. In the heat and pH stability test, the antimicrobial activity of the SF ethanol extract was not altered when the temperature was maintained at 121℃ for 15 min, and it was also not affected in the pH range of 2-10. These results suggest that the SF ethanol extract is highly stable against drastic changes in temperature and pH.

2006년 3월부터 2007년 2월까지 제주도 구좌지역의 해상풍력단지 예정지역의 물새류현황을 조사하였다. 조사결과 총 58종 16,786개체가 관찰되었으며, 종 다양도는 1.735로 나타났다. 우점 종은 재갈매기(Larus argentatus) 51.36%, 괭이갈매기(Larus crassirostris) 21.60%, 가마우지(Phalacrocorax carbo) 5.53%, 민물도요(Calidris alpine) 4.46%, 슴새(Calonectris leucomelas) 3.74% 등의 순으로 나타났다. 월별 관찰종수는 4월이 36종으로 가장 많았고 6월이 8종으로 가장 적었으며, 개체수는 2월이 7,972개체로 가장 많았고 6월이 33개체로 가장 적었다. 보호조류는 노량부리백로(Egretta eulophotes), 원앙(Aix galericulata), 물수리(Pandion haliateus), 흰목물떼새(Charadrius placidus) 등 총 4종이 관찰되었다. 물새류 서식의 방해요인으로는 해안도로의 건설 및 차량과 사람들의 출입 등이 관찰되었다. We researched status of waterfowl of Gujwa region where offshore wind farm was planed in Jejudo Island from March 2006 to February 2007. As the result of, a total of 16,786 individuals of 58 species were observed and the species diversity was 1.735. The dominant species were Larus argentatus (51.36%), Larus crassirostris (21.60%), Phalacrocorax capillatus (5.53%), Calidris alpina (4.46%) and Calonectris leucomelas (3.74%). Monthly observed species were the maximum as 36 species in April but the minimum as 8 species in June, and individuals were the maximum as 7,972 birds in February but the minimum as 33 birds in June. Protective birds were observed a total of 4 species including Egretta eulophotes, Aix galericulata, Pandion haliateus and Charadrius placidus. A disturbance factors of inhabitation of waterfowl were observed the construction of a cost road and coming and going of vehicle and person etc.

Background: Patients with biliary tract cancer have a poor prognosis and the palliative chemotherapy has shown limited effi cacy. This phase II study aimed to evaluate the effi cacy and safety of a combination of docetaxel and oxaliplatin as fi rst-line therapy in patients with advanced biliary tract cancer. Methods: Patients with biliary tract cancer have a poor prognosis and the palliative chemotherapy has shown limited effi cacy. This phase II study aimed to evaluate the effi cacy and safety of a combination of docetaxel and oxaliplatin as fi rst-line therapy in patients with advanced biliary tract cancer. Results: 20 patients (2 patients had locally advanced disease and 18 had metastatic disease) with median age of 57 years (range 45-74) were enrolled. Response was assessable in 18 patients (early death in two). ORR was 4/18 (22.2%; 95% CI, 4.0-40.4%) and disease control rate (PR + SD) was 12/18 (66.7%; 95% CI, 46.0-87.4%). At a median follow-up time of 23.2 months (range 2.3-37.8), median PFS for all patients was 2.8 months (95% CI, 1.7-3.9 months) and median OS was 10.0 months (95% CI, 2.4-17.7 months). The most common grade 3 or 4 hematologic and nonhematologic toxicities were neutropenia (40.0%) and peripheral neuropathy (10.0%), respectively. Conclusions: Docetaxel and oxaliplatin combination was moderately active and feasible in patients with locally advanced or metastatic biliary tract cancer. This regimen warrants further investigation as a fi rst- or second-line therapy for the treatment of unresectable biliary tract cancer.
