The Construction and Viterbi Decoding of New (2k, k, l) Convolutional Codes
( Wan Quan Peng ),( Cheng Chang Zhang ) 한국정보처리학회 2014 Journal of information processing systems Vol.10 No.1
The free distance of (n, k, l) convolutional codes has some connection with the memory length, which depends on not only l but also on k. To efficiently obtain a large memory length, we have constructed a new class of (2k, k, l) convolutional codes by (2k, k) block codes and (2, 1, l) convolutional codes, and its encoder and generation function are also given in this paper. With the help of some matrix modules, we designed a single structure Viterbi decoder with a parallel capability, obtained a unified and efficient decoding model for (2k, k, l) convolutional codes, and then give a description of the decoding process in detail. By observing the survivor path memory in a matrix viewer, and testing the role of the max module, we implemented a simulation with (2k, k, l) convolutional codes. The results show that many of them are better than conventional (2, 1, l) convolutional codes.

Compared to conventional tools, the cutting performance of microtextured tools is significantly better. Laser surface texturing (LST) is the most important technique for producing a microstructure. The modification of microstructure properties of tools by LST has not received much attention. In this study, the effects of LST on the microstructural properties of tools were investigated, and the specific causes of the improvement in wear resistance of tools by laser micro texturing and the effects of micro-texture on adhesive wear of tools were revealed. In this study, microtextured tools with different laser parameters were fabricated and the test was conducted for cutting titanium alloys. The changes in tool microstructural properties and tool wear morphology were compared and analyzed. LST effectively reduces the release of co-elements during cutting, solidifies WC particles, and reduces the adhesive and oxidative wear of the tool. In addition, the micro-texture and surrounding annular protrusions significantly reduce cutting heat, which in turn reduces diffusive and abrasive wear. In this context, the morphology of the micro-texture facilitates adhesive fracture and peeling of the adhesive wear, while the annular protrusions help reduce tool wear. Their interaction significantly improves the wear resistance of laser-machined microtextured tools.

Objectives : Many of currently used anti-cancer drugs were developed to target cell death mechanisms and had serious side effects by causing damage to normal cells. Hangambujeongsan or Kangai Fuzheng Powder was a mixture based on the traditional Chinese medicine. It had been used in the local Chinese hospitals to treat cancer patients for decades and had shown a certain level of beneficial effects without major toxic effects. But its mechanism of action had not been elucidated yet. Thus this study aimed to investigate the effects of Kangai Fuzheng Powder in an in vitro experiment. Methods : Cancer lines or RAW264.7 mouse macrophage cells were treated with Kangai Fuzheng Powder. Cell viability was measured by MTT assay, and morphological observation was also performed. Gene expression of cytokines in macrophages was determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction. Phagocytic function assay was also performed in macrophage cells. Results : Kangai Fuzheng Powder had no direct detrimental effect on cancer cells. When macrophages were co-cultured with cancer cells, Kangai Fuzheng Powder had toxic effect on cancer cells. After exposing macrophages to Kangai Fuzheng Powder, macrophages transformed into activated form and the mRNA level of tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-1beta, interleukin-6, interleukin-10 and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 was significantly enhanced. Phagocytic activity of macrophages was dramatically potentiated. Conclusions : We demonstrated that anti-cancer effect of Kangai Fuzheng Powder was related to activation of macrophages including enhanced cytokine production and phagocytic function.

Fumigaclavine C (FC), an active indole alkaloid, is obtained from endophytic Aspergillus terreus (strain No. FC118) by the root of Rhizophora stylosa (Rhizophoraceae). This study is designed to evaluate whether FC has anti-adipogenic effects in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and whether it ameliorates lipid accumulation in highfat diet (HFD)-induced obese mice. FC notably increased the levels of glycerol in the culture supernatants and markedly reduced lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. FC differentially inhibited the expressions of adipogenesis-related genes, including the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor proteins, CCAAT/enhancer-binding proteins, and sterol regulatory element-binding proteins. FC markedly reduced the expressions of lipid synthesis-related genes, such as the fatty acid binding protein, lipoprotein lipase, and fatty acid synthase. Furthermore, FC significantly increased the expressions of lipolysis-related genes, such as the hormone-sensitive lipase, Aquaporin- 7, and adipose triglyceride lipase. In HFD-induced obese mice, intraperitoneal injections of FC decreased both the body weight and visceral adipose tissue weight. FC administration significantly reduced lipid accumulation. Moreover, FC could dosedependently and differentially regulate the expressions of lipid metabolism-related transcription factors. All these data indicated that FC exhibited anti-obesity effects through modulating adipogenesis and lipolysis.

This article presents the eff ect of thermal aging on threshold fi eld strength and relative permittivity of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) with diff erent cross-linking agent contents. Here, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and dicumyl peroxide (DCP) are used as basic experimental material and cross-linking agent, respectively. Eventually, experimental results indicate that thermal aging can gradually make threshold fi eld strength and relative permittivity of XLPE with diff erent DCP contents increase and decrease, respectively. Besides, threshold fi eld strength of XLPE with diff erent DCP contents increases fi rst and then decreases as the increase of DCP content, while relative permittivity of XLPE with diff erent DCP contents decreases fi rst and then increases as DCP content increases at diff erent thermal aging time, etc. These studies in this article are the basis of the research on space charge accumulation and dissipation inside XLPE materials, which are of great signifi cance to the normal operation of XLPE cables.

It was reported that the total polysaccharides extracts from Anemarrhenae asphodeloides Bge(Liliaceae, rhizome) could inhibit inflammatory responses in various models. In the present study, the effects of Timosaponin B-II, a purified extract from A. asphodeloidesb, on the expressions of IL-1β, TNF-α and IL-6, the activity of NF-κB and the activation of signal pathway related to NF-κB were explored in vitro. Timosaponin B-Ⅱ significantly attenuated increase of these cytokines on both mRNA and protein levels from LPS-stimulated BV2 cells in a dose-dependent manner. The reporter gene assay also showed that the activation of NF-κB induced by LPS was inhibited by pre-treatment with Timosaponin B-Ⅱ. Moreover, western blot results showed that the activation of p38, JNK and P65 had been decreased. These results suggest that both NF-κB signal pathway and MAPK pathway were involved in the inhibitory effects of Timosaponin B-II on the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
