Phuc Manh Nguyen,Vu Cong Nguyen,Son Ngoc Nguyen,Linh My Thi Dang,Ha Xuan Nguyen,Vinh Dinh Nguyen 제어로봇시스템학회 2020 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2020 No.10
Recently, traffic light detection and classification systems have been studied and developed to build an autonomous car by many research institutes, universities, and companies. However, the results of existing traffic light detection systems are still not stable under day and night conditions. It is difficult to detect the location of traffic light due to their small size. Moreover, traffic lights’ shapes are also similar to advertisement lights in a city road. Therefore, this paper proposed a new approach to improve the performance of existing traffic light detection systems by using the benefits of hand-crafted features and deep learning techniques. Experimental results show that the proposed system obtained the detection rate of 80% under night conditions, while the color-based density method only got the detection rate of 50.43% under night conditions.

In this study, graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized by the improved Hummers’ method. The degree of oxidation from graphite (Gi) to GO was determined through interlayer spacing calculated from X–ray diffraction. Besides, the effect of KMnO4:Gi ratios (X1), H2SO4 volume (X2), oxidation temperature (X3), oxidation time of stage 1 (X4), and oxidation time of stage 2 (X5) was screened by the Plackett–Burman model. The simultaneous impact of three factors that influenced the degree of oxidation (X1, X2, and X3) was studied by the Box–Behnken experimental model of response surface methodology to achieve suitable conditions for the GO synthesis process. The characterization of GO product was investigated via the modern analytical methods: X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV–Vis spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy. In addition, the study was also carried out on a pilot scale for orientation in industrial application with the yield of 14 g/batch.

ZnO nanorods (Nrods) with ~20–50 nm lengths were synthesized using an aqueous solution of zinc acetate and glacial acetic acid. Bulk heterojunction solar cells were fabricated with the structure of indium tin oxide (ITO)/polyethylenedioxythiophene doped with polystyrene-sulfonic acid (PEDOT:PSS)/ZnO-Nrods + polymer/electron transport layer (ETL)/Al. Current density-voltage characterization of the resulting cells showed that, by adding an ETL and using polymers with a low band gap energy, the photoactive layer surface morphology and the device performance can be dramatically improved.

Acid leaching and a two-step solvent extraction procedure were developed to produce high purity mixture of La and Ce from iron-rich spent FCC catalyst discharged from Dzung Quat refinery (Vietnam). Acid leaching of the spent catalyst with 2M HNO3 and a solid-to-liquid ratio of 1/3 at 80 oC in 1 h dissolved almost 90% of La while 12% of Al and 25% of Fe were transferred to the leachate. The extraction of RE metals and main impurities such as Al and Fe by a mixture of di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) and tributyl phosphate (TBP) was investigated. Experiments showed that it was necessary to remove Fe before extracting RE and the optimum extraction conditions for a high recovery of RE while 0% of Al extraction were pH1, contact time=10min, and D2EHPA/TBP volume ratio= 4 : 1. At these conditions, the extraction yields of La(III) and Ce(III) were 72% and 89%, respectively. A two-step solvent extraction was developed to achieve a high purity of RE mixture, which included (1) the removal of impurity Fe by 25% (v/v) diisooctyl phosphinic acid (DiOPA) in n-octane for 140 min, (2) the extraction of rare earths by a mixture of di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) and tributyl phosphate (TBP) in n-octane for 10 min without the need for adjusting the pH of the leaching solution.

A Fe-Mo-Se nanopowder, synthesized by a solvothermal protocol, was utilized as a heterogeneouscatalyst for the synthesis of 2-arylquinazolines from DL-α-phenylglycine-based α-amino acids and2-nitrobenzyl alcohols via domino transformations. High yields and selectivity were achieved undersolvent-free conditions. The Fe-Mo-Se catalyst offered considerably higher activity than numeroushomogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts. To our best knowledge, this domino reaction is new, and theutilization of iron-molybdenum selenide catalyst in the synthesis of quinazolines was not previouslyreported.

In this study, twenty-five yeast strains were isolated from soil samples collected in the goldmining ore in Gia Lai, Vietnam. Among them, one isolate named GL1T could highly tolerateCu2þ up to 10 mM, and the isolates could also grow in a wide range of pH (3–7), and temperature(10–40 C). Dried biomass of GL1 was able to remove Cu2þ effectively up to 90.49%with a maximal biosorption capacity of 18.1 mg/g at pH 6, temperature 30 C, and incubationtime 60 min. Sequence analysis of rDNA indicated this strain was closely related toRhodotorula mucilaginosa but with 1.53 and 3.46% nucleotide differences in the D1/D2domain of the 28S rRNA gene and the ITS1-5.8S rRNA gene-ITS2 region sequence, respectively. Based on phylogenetic tree analysis and the biochemical characteristics, the strainappears to be a novel Rhodotorula species, and the name Rhodotorula aurum sp. nov. is proposed. This study provides us with more information about heavy metal-tolerant yeasts andit may produce a new tool for environmental control and metal recovery operations.

Abstract

Evogliptin is a novel, potent and selective dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor that has received approval for use in the treatment of type 2 diabetes in South Korea. In the management of diabetes, it is important to reduce cardiovascular risk factors, as this can decrease the complication and mortality rate. However, the effect of evogliptin on the atherosclerotic progression has not been evaluated. In this study, we examined the effects of evogliptin on the progression of atherosclerosis and its possible mechanism of action. The anti-atherosclerotic effect of evogliptin was evaluated in ApoE-knockout mice fed high-fat diet analysed by plaque lesion formation, lipid profiles and vascular inflammatory response in the atherosclerotic progression. The in vitro effects of evogliptin were verified in endothelial cells analysed by immunoblotting, siRNA gene knockdown, promoter-luciferase assay, immunoprecipitation and adhesion assay. Evogliptin reduced the high-fat diet-induced atherosclerotic plaque area in the ApoE−/− mouse model. Macrophage infiltration into lesions was suppressed in the evogliptin group. In the endothelial cells, evogliptin inhibited inflammatory responses via suppression of adhesion molecules induced by TNF-α. TNF-α-mediated activation of NF-κB was ameliorated by evogliptin via the interaction of NF-κB with SIRT1 (Sirtuin-1). TNF-α-mediated adhesion between endothelial cells and monocytes was inhibited by evogliptin, but this inhibitory effect was reversed by Sirt1 gene knockdown. This study demonstrates that the protective effect of evogliptin on atherosclerotic progression via inhibition of vascular inflammation. The findings imply that evogliptin has potential for anti-atherosclerosis therapy that targets arterial inflammation.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]
