        This study was conducted to investigate the effect of Handicraft program on cognitive function and depression of the normal elderly. Subjects were 7 normal elderly. The evaluation was evaluated using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Korean Version and Short Form of Geriatric Depression Scale-Korean Version. The Handicraft program was conducted once a week for an hour for a total of 10 weeks. The collected data was confirmed using the Wilcoxon signed test. As a result of the training, significant positive changes in cognitive function and depression of the subjects were confirmed after application of Handicraft program. From this result, it was confirmed that the Handicraft program is a positive training method for improving cognitive function and preventing dementia of the normal elderly.

        수종의 자가 접착 레진 시멘트의 물성 및 lithium disilicate ceramic과 상아질에 대한 전단결합강도 비교

        본 연구의 목적은 치면 처리와 수복물 내면의 처리가 필요 없는 자가 접착 레진 시멘트의 물성 및 lithium disilicate ceramic과 상아질에 대한 전단결합강도를 측정하고 기존의 레진 시멘트와 비교하여 임상적 유용성을 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 실험군인 자가 접착 레진 시맨트로는 Rely-X Unicem, Embrace Wetbond, Maxcem, BisCem을, 대조군으로는 기존의 레진 시멘트인 Rely-X ARC, 수복용 복합레진인 Z-350을 사용하였다. 각 레진 시멘트의 물성 평가를 위하여 테플론 주형을 이용하여 시편을 제작하고 만능 시험기를 이용하여 압축강도, 간접인장강도, 굴곡강도를 측정하였다. IPS Empress 2 및 상아질 시편에 제조사의 지시대로 Rely-X ARC군과 Z-350군에만 전처리를 시행 후 각 시멘트를 접착하고 전단결합강도를 측정하였다. 실험 결과는 다음과 같았다. 1. 자가 접착 레진 시멘트인 Biscem이 가장 낮은 물리적 성질을 나타내었다 (P<0.05). 2. 자가 접착 레진 시멘트의 상아질 및 도재에 대한 전단결합강도는 기존의 레진 시멘트에 비해 유의성 있게 낮은 값을 나타내었다 (P<0.05). 이상의 결과로 볼 때 자가 접착 레진 시멘트는 기존의 레진 시멘트에 비해 물리적 성질 및 상아질과 lithium disilicate ceramic에 대한 전단결합강도가 떨어지는 것으로 사료된다. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical properties of different self-adhesive resin cements and their shear bond strength on dentin and lithium disilicate ceramic and compare these result with that of conventional resin cement. For this study, four self-adhesive resin cements (Rely-X Unicem, Embrace Wetbond, Mexcem, BisCem), one conventional resin cement (Rely-X ARC) and one restorative resin composite (Z-350) were used. In order to evaluate the physical properties, compressive strength, diametral tensile strength and flexural strenth were measured. To evaluate the shear bond strength on dentin, each cement was adhered to buccal dentinal surface of extracted human lower molars. Dentin bonding agent was applied after acid etching for groups of Rely-X ARC and Z-350. In order to evaluate the shear bond strength on ceramic, lithium disilicate glass ceramic (IPS Empress 2) disks were prepared. Only Rely-X ARC and Z-350 groups were pretreated with hydrofluoric acid and silane. And then each resin cement was adhered to ceramic surface in 2 mm diameter. Physical properties and shear bond strengths were measured using a universal testing machine. Results were as follows 1. BisCem showed the lowest compressive strength, diametral tensile strength and flexural strength. (P<0.05) 2. Self-adhesive resin cements showed significantly lower shear bond strength on the dentin and lithium disilicate ceramic than Rely-X ARC and Z-350 (P<0.05) In conclusion, self-adhesive resin cements represent the lower physical properties and shear bond strength than a conventional resin cement.

        Effect of Disagglomeration on the Recovery of Abrasives from Waste Sludge

        Effect of disagglomeration with different type of mill on recovery of abrasives was investigated. To evaluate an effect of disagglomeration on recovery of abrasive from waste sludge, disagglomerated waste sludge by different mills were air classified and yield of fine particles product were calculated. The results suggested that pin mill and jet mill are effective for disagglomeration of waste sludge. Pumice, garnet and rouge powders were easily recovered by air classification after disagglomeration by pin mill for the recycling of them as a abrasive powders in polishing procedure of CRT glass. Comparing to raw abrasive powders, shapes and mineralogical properties were very similar to those of new ones. These results suggest that the recycled abrasive powders can be used as an abrasive powders.

        내시경을 이용한 전두골의 골종치료

        Endoscope technique has revolutionized general thoracic and gynecological procedures but only recently has entered the plastic surgeon's armamentarium. Current endoscopic plastic surgical procedures include forehead lift, augmentation mammoplasty, sinus surgery and carpal tunnel release. Advantages of endoscopic assistance include direct visualization, hidden scars and decreased morbidity. We sought to implement endoscopic techniques to recontoure the facial skeleton and tried to avoid the disadvantage of open procedure. In past, osteoma in the frontal bone was removed through bicoronal incision or direct incision; however, this incision left noticable scars or large scars in the scalp. We operated on 5 cases of osteoma in the frontal bone using the endoscopic method. A standard video system consisting of a camera, xenon light source and monitor were used. Instrumentation included a 4mm, 30 degree endoscope retractors, periosteal elevators and power burr. This method required one or two small incisions to remove the osteoma. There were less pain and scar. There were less post operative complications, i.e. no hematoma and no infection. The patient's recovery period was short, allowing surgery to be performed in an out-patient clinic. In conclusion, it is believed that treatment of osteoma in the frontal bone using endoscopic method will become a standard method.

        골형태형성단백질과 흡수성차폐막이 치주조직 재생에 미치는 영향

        The aim of our study is to achieve complete periodontal tissue regeneration by the application of BMP and resorbable membrane. Three beagle dogs aged over one and half years and weighed 14 to 16 kg were used in this study. Mandibular 1st, 2nd premolars were extracted bilaterally. Horizontal furcation defects were induced around 3rd, 4th premolars bilaterally. BMP-4 were applied in the right side with resorbable membranes and only resorbable membranes were applied in the left side respectively. Each animal was sacrificed at 2, 4, and 8weeks, after regenerative surgery. Specimens were prepared with Hematoxylin-Eosin stain and Goldner's modified Masson Trichrome stain for light microscopic evaluation. The results were as follows: 1. At 2 weeks after regenerative surgery, downgrowth of junctional epithelium was observed both in the membraneapplied site and BMP-4-and-membrane-applied site. 2. At 4 weeks after regenerative surgery, resorbable membranes were completely resolved, therefore would not prevent downgrowth of junctional epithelium. New bone formation, new cementum formation and Sharpey's fiber were observed in BMP-4-andmembrane-applied site. 3. At 8 weeks after regenerative surgery, downgrowth of junctional epithelium was observed in the membrane-applied site. But, new cementum formation was observed in the same site. The extensive regeneration of new bone, new cementum and remarkable formation of Shapey's fiber were showed in BMP-4-and-membrane-applied site. 4. Resorbable membranes were resolved via the cell-mediated processes. 5. Periodontal tissue regeneration were better achieved in the BMP-4-andmembrane-applied site than in the membrane-applied site. Within the above results, BMP-4 may have the strong capability to form the new bone and resorbable membrane may be able to prevent the bony ankylosis. However, resolution rate of resorbable membrane may not be enough to protect rapid epithelial downgrowth for ideal periodontal regeneration. In conclusion, I suggest BMP-4 may have the strong possibility to be utilized in the clinical periodontal treat-
