The effectiveness of corticotomy and piezocision on canine retraction: A systematic review

The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate the effectiveness and complications of corticotomy and piezocision in canine retraction. Five electronic databases (PubMed, SCOPUS, Web of Science, Embase, and CENTRAL) were searched for articles published up to July 2017. The databases were searched for randomized control trials (RCTs), with a split-mouth design, using either corticotomy or piezocision. The primary outcome reported for canine retraction was either the amount of tooth movement, rate of tooth movement, or treatment time. The secondary outcome was complications. The selection process was based on the PRISMA guidelines. A risk of bias assessment was also performed. Our search retrieved 530 abstracts. However, only five RCTs were finally included. Corticotomy showed a more significant (i.e., 2 to 4 times faster) increase in the rate of tooth movement than did the conventional method. For piezocision, both accumulative tooth movement and rate of tooth movement were twice faster than those of the conventional method. Corticotomy (with a flap design avoiding marginal bone incision) or flapless piezocision procedures were not detrimental to periodontal health. Nevertheless, piezocision resulted in higher levels of patient satisfaction. The main limitation of this study was the limited number of primary research publications on both techniques. For canine retraction into the immediate premolar extraction site, the rate of canine movement after piezocision was almost comparable to that of corticotomy with only buccal flap elevation.
Analysis of Website Ranking in Search Engine using Multi-criteria Decision

Over past decade, internet has been growing very fast and has become an integral part in modern business activity. As such, search engine - a tool to find online data, e.g., Google, Bing, Yahoo etc - has become the most popular website application among others. In the cyber world, it is widely known that the highest rank website is the most popular one for which it is beneficial not only in terms of advertisement rate, but also can promote the website for business activity. Therefore, every company expects their website to appear in the top 10 or in the first page of search engine website; this fact makes web developers highly competitive to get into the highest rank on the search engine. Currently, there are many available search engines that can be used to help internet users; every search engine, however, has different way of indexing the website ranking: Google has 5 criteria whereas its closest competitor, Yahoo, has 4 criteria. Thus, indexing website rank is a multi-criteria decision for which it can be solved using some method. In this paper, we explore and evaluate the ability of PROMETHEE to indexing and rank some websites based on multi-criteria analysis, for which the results is similar to one done by Google. This method allows company to easily compare their website popularity among competitors website in the search engine which can be used as powerful tool to boost their marketing strategy.

ROLE OF INDIVIDUAL FACTORS TOWARD INDONESIAN CONSUMERS’ ACCEPTANCE ON ORGANIC FOOD

Despite consumers' growing support to preserve the environment, organic products business in emerging country such as Indonesia is still suffered from consumer’s low acceptance toward organic food. It is conceivable that some influencing factors are existed; as such consumers’ attitude cannot be translated into action. Through mixed methodology research, this study proposes an approach to integrate individual factors, which encompasses psychographic and demographic factors, into Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to predict consumer acceptance toward organic food. Then, using Partial Least Square analysis, this study generates an extending TAM that could explain the role of those individual factors toward consumers’ acceptance on organic food.
Decoding spatial precipitation patterns using artificial intelligence

The primary objective of this research is to examine the spatio-temporal variations in precipitation within the Indian Monsoon region (IMR), with a particular focus on regional relationships. This investigation utilizes rainfall data collected from rain gauge stations for the year 2020, a year marked by extreme weather events such as floods in Assam and Mumbai, Cyclone Amphan, and multiple cloud-bursts in the Western Himalayan regions. The time series analysis is conducted to find the precipitation patterns across six distinct geographical zones. A numerical association rule is formulated by leveraging both k-means clustering and Apriori techniques. The central finding of this study underscores the North Eastern region’s prominent co-occurrence pattern of rainfall events, particularly concerning lead days. Specifically, when there is rainfall in the preceding days, there is a notable likelihood of continued rainfall on the subsequent day. This prolonged and consecutive rainfall pattern, persisting for three successive days, emerges as a one of the major contributing factors to the flooding incidents experienced in these regions.
