In this study, we proposed a straightforward electrospun polycaprolactone (PCL) loaded with silver nanoparticles (SNPs)membrane fabrication process, in which SNPs were directly synthesized from silver nitrate (AgNO3) in PCL–acetone mixtureby gamma irradiation. The insolubility of AgNO3in PCL solution was solved using an auxiliary dimethyl sulfoxide solvent. As a physical approach, gamma rays readily converted silver ions into SNPs without the addition of harmful reductionagents, which reduced the cytotoxicity of the synthesized material. By avoiding some processes such as purification, solventremoval, or redispersion of SNPs, this method was more time-saving compared to other related studies. SNPs formation wasconfirmed by both UV–Visible spectrum (UV–Vis) and X-ray diffraction analysis. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM)revealed that the addition of SNPs significantly reduced the fiber diameter of PCL–Ag membranes compared to that of rawPCL. Uniform spherical-shaped SNPs incorporated in PCL fibers were observed under transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The tensile test showed that the electrospun PCL–Ag membranes exhibited good mechanical characteristics. Moistureeasily penetrated the porous microstructure of PCL–Ag, facilitating wound humidity regulation. Inductively coupledplasma-mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) was employed to study the release profiles of SNPs at different time intervals. Overall, the PCL–Ag 500 ppm sample exerted excellent antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcusaureus strains and low in vitro cytotoxicity.
Quantifying the Effect of Economic Sanctions on Trade in Cultural Goods
Doan Ngoc Thang,Tran Manh Ha 한국국제경제학회 2023 International Economic Journal Vol.37 No.3
The question of whether the imposition of economic sanctions impairs or nurtures cultural affinity remains controversial. In effect, this paper investigates the effect of economic sanctions on the trade of cultural goods as a proxy for cultural proximity, using cross-country data with 5,304 country pairs ranging from the years 1996–2019. Through extensive robustness checks, our main findings reveal that economic sanctions drive up the trade of cultural goods. The effect on the trade of cultural goods is heterogeneous across various forms of economic sanctions. While military, arms, trade, and travel sanctions are trade facilitators, financial and other sanctions are trade barriers. These effects are conditional on the level of economic development in the sanctioned countries and change over time. Our findings suggest cultural implications of economic sanctions in foreign policy design.

The paper aims to examine the relationship of emotional intelligence on the project success, the causal relationship between emotional intelligence and project success, and also investigate the influence of emotional intelligence and the mediating role of transformational leadership as well as the moderating effect of organization commitment on the relationship between emotional intelligence and project success. Cross sessional research is applied to collect the data in this study. By applying quantitative research and survey question, the study collects 325 respondents who are the project managers. Snow-ball sampling method is used to distribute the questionnaires by face to face survey (68% of respondents) and online survey (32% of respondents). The collected data is analyzing by applying partial least square (PLS-SEM) via software SmartPLS 3.0.The result shows that the emotional intelligence and the transformational leadership making the project even more successful as the mediation actor. Furthermore, the project commitment also has the moderator effect between transformational leadership and project success. With the result of study, project managers should be aware of the importance of emotional intelligence and their commitment to the ability to manage projects successfully. A successful project is a combination of many actors, the most critical actor is the leader of the project.

Evidence shows that tobacco advertising and promotion activities may increase tobacco consumption and usage, especially in youth. Despite the regulation on prohibiting advertisement of any tobacco product, tobacco advertisement and promotion activities are still common in Vietnam. This article presents current exposure to tobacco advertising and promotion (TAP) among school children aged 13 to 15 years in Vietnam in 2014 and potential influencing factors. Data from the Global Youth Tobacco Survey 2014 in Vietnam covering 3,430 school aged children were used. Both descriptive and analytical statistics were carried out with Stata 13 statistical software. Binary logistic regression was applied to explain the exposure to TAP among youth and examine relationships with individual factors. A significance level of p<0.05 and sampling weights were used in all of the computations. In the past 30 days, 48.6% of the students experienced exposure to at least 1 type of tobacco advertising or promotion. Wearing or otherwise using products related to tobacco was the most exposure TAP type reported by students (22.3%). The internet (22.1), points of sales (19.2) and social events (11.5) were three places that students aged 13-15 frequently were exposed to TAP. Binary logistic results showed that gender (female vs male) (OR = 0.61, 95%CI: 0.52 - 0.71), susceptibility to smoking (OR = 2.12, 95%CI: 1.53 - 2.92), closest friends' smoked (OR = 1.43, 95%CI: 1.2 - 1.7) and parents smoking status (OR = 2.83, 95%CI: 1.6 - 5.01) were significantly associated with TAP exposure among school-aged children. The research findings should contribute to effective implementation of measures for preventing and controlling tobacco use among students aged 13-15 in Viet Nam.

Binh Duc TRAN,Bach The TRAN,Do Van Hai,Quang Hong BUI,Son Hoang DOAN,Han Ngoc LE,Thuy Thu NGUYEN,엄상미 한국식물분류학회 2020 식물 분류학회지 Vol.50 No.3
Argyreia gyrobracteata Traiperm & Chitchak (Convolvulaceae) is newly recorded in Vietnam. It is similar to A. mekongensis Gagnep & Courch in having a white campanulate corolla but differs from that species by having whitish surface of the abaxial leaf, narrowly lanceolate or linear-oblong, curly, rolled up the bract with a longer length of the petiole and a shorter pedicel. It was previously known only in Thailand, but was recently found in Lam Dong Province, Vietnam, for the first time. The present study provides a detailed description, colorful photos and the distribution of the species. Furthermore, a comparison of the diagnostic characters between this species and a related species in Vietnam, A. mekongensis Gagnep & Courch, is provided.
Fabrication and Evaluation of Human Dentin as Scaffold for Dental Pulp Stem Cells
Ha Le Bao Tran,My Thi Ngoc Nguyen,Vu Nguyen Doan 한국조직공학과 재생의학회 2015 조직공학과 재생의학 Vol.12 No.4
Scaffold is an important component of tissue engineering. Dentin is a potential material satisfying not only the physical and chemical characteristics of a standard scaffold, but also the inductive factors demand for dentin regeneration. Therefore, it is a promising material for tissue engineering. In this study, we aimed to create and characterize dentin scaffolds in order to serve as bioactive scaffolds for human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs) toward dentin-like tissue regeneration. Human dentin scaffolds were obtained from extracted teeth and irrigated in 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and 19% citric acid as chelate agents to remove smear layer. The treated scaffolds were examined morphology, the presence and secretion of dentin matrix protein, and in vitro cytotoxicity. The results demonstrated that 17% EDTA and 19% acid citric effectively removed smear layer. The presence of dentin matrix proteins, including transforming growth factor beta-1 and dentin matrix protein-1 were found to be secreted from human treated dentin scaffolds (hTDSs) during 5 days of investigation. hTDSs showed low level of cytotoxicity, which elicited a safe manner. Moreover, hTDSs provided a suitable surface for the attachment of hDPSCs, as well as supported their proliferation. When culturing hDPSCs onto the scaffolds, the formation of dentin-like tissue indicated their potential in directing differentiation of hDPSCs into dentin regeneration process, possibly, via bioactivity of the secreted dentin matrix proteins. Taken together, these data demonstrated that our proposed protocol was effective in generating hTDSs, and maintaining their compromising properties for application in regeneration of human dentin.
Determinants of Capital Structure:The Case in Vietnam
VU, Thu Minh Thi,TRAN, Chung Quang,DOAN, Duong Thuy,LE, Thang Ngoc Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.9
This is a quantitative research, underpinned by the philosophy of natural science and deduction approach that examines the impact of the various aspects of corporate governance mechanism on the choice of capital structure of Vietnamese listed firms. We focus on the effect of factors such as the board size, the board independence, and especially different ownership structures, which include the managerial ownership, the state ownership, the concentrated ownership, and the foreign ownership. They are the main scopes of corporate governance and are supposed to be relevant to determine the corporate financing choice. To explain the causal relationship between factors, we construct the regression model and then test it by using different statistical method approaches, including the pooled OLS, the fixed effects model, and the random effects model. Data are collected from 336 firms with shares listed in the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange in Vietnam, totaling 1583 observations. Overall, the results reveal that the board size, state ownership, and concentrated ownership have positive impact on the firm's capital structure, whereas foreign ownership appears to have negative influence on the capital structure. The research does not find evidence of a the correlation between board independence, managerial ownership and corporate capital struture.
