        In recent years, there is increasing interests in spot welder with industrial growth of automobile. It makes autowelding and short-time welding possible. Conventional spot welders using AC source bring about the depreciation of welding products, because constant current control makes its workpiece spattered during welding process. In this paper, the constant power control strategy using PI controller is proposed to improve the quality of the welding products. PI controller is implemented by l6bit one chip 80C196KB microcontroller. Simulation and experimental results show that DC spot welder with single phase PWM inverter is effectively controlled by the constant power control method in very short-time.

Compounds <B>1</B> and <B>3</B> are the first structurally characterized boratrane derivatives bearing all six-membered rings and mixed ring systems in the atrane cage, respectively. Especially, the molecular structures of <B>1</B> revealed that its transannular N–B bond length of 1.6322(19)Å is the shortest among the previously reported boratrane and its derivatives.</P>

        <i>Eclipta prostrata</i> Improves DSS-Induced Colitis through Regulation of Inflammatory Response in Intestinal Epithelial Cells

        <P><I>Eclipta prostrata</I> (EP) and its compounds are known to have several pharmacological effects including anti-inflammatory effects. In the present study, we demonstrated that EP improves the dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis symptoms such as body weight loss, colon length shortening and disease activity index. In DSS-induced colitis tissue, EP controls the protein expressions of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and hypoxia inducible factor-1<TEX>$ \alpha $</TEX> (HIF-1<TEX>$ \alpha $</TEX>). In addition, the release of prostaglandin E<SUB>2</SUB> and vascular endothelial growth factor-A were significantly reduced by EP administration. EP also inhibited COX-2 and HIF-1<TEX>$ \alpha $</TEX> expressions in the tumor necrosis factor-<TEX>$ \alpha $</TEX> stimulated HT-29 cells. These inhibitory effects of EP occurred by reducing the phosphorylation of I<TEX>$ \kappa $</TEX>B and the translocation of the nuclear factor-<TEX>$ \kappa $</TEX>B (NF-<TEX>$ \kappa $</TEX>B). Additionally, we found through HPLC analysis that wedelolactone, which is an inhibitor of NF-<TEX>$ \kappa $</TEX>B transcription, was contained in water extract of EP. These results indicate that EP can improve colitis symptoms through the modulation of immune function in intestinal epithelial cells and suggests that EP has the potential therapeutic effect to intestinal inflammation.</P>

        Nafion-Propyl-1,2,3-Triazole Composite Membrane for Fuel Cells

        <P>Propyl-1,2,3-triazole was synthesized within the nanostructure of Nafion giving a Nafion – propyl-1,2,3-triazole composite, which was confirmed by IR and NMR. TEM images of the material revealed that the cluster structure of the composite membrane is smaller than that of Nafion. Analysis of the mechanical properties of the composite membrane showed that propyl-1,2,3-triazole might contribute to improve the strength of the network. A maximum conductivity of 0.07 S/cm and current density of 760 mA/cm<SUP>2</SUP> at 0.6 V were obtained under cell conditions of 70°C, RH = 100%.</P>

        Predicted Impact of the Model for End-Stage Liver Disease 3.0 in a Region Suffering Severe Organ Shortage

        Background: The model for end-stage liver disease 3.0 (MELD3.0) is expected to address the flaws of the current allocation system for deceased donor liver transplantation (DDLT). We aimed to validate MELD3.0 in the Korean population where living donor liver transplantation is predominant due to organ shortages. Methods: Korean large-volume single-centric waitlist data were merged with the Korean Network for Organ Sharing (KONOS) data. The 90-day mortality was compared between MELD and MELD3.0 using the C-index in 2,353 eligible patients registered for liver transplantation. Patient numbers and outcomes were compared based on changes in KONOS-MELD categorization using MELD3.0. Possible gains in MELD points and reduced waitlist mortality were analyzed. Results: MELD3.0 performed better than MELD (C-index 0.893 for MELD3.0 vs. 0.889 for MELD). When stratified according to the KONOS-MELD categories, 15.9% of the total patients and 35.2% of the deceased patients were up-categorized using MELD3.0 versus MELD categories. The mean gain of MELD points was higher in women (2.6 ± 2.1) than men (2.1 ± 1.9, P < 0.001), and higher in patients with severe ascites (3.3 ± 1.8) than in controls (1.9 ± 1.8, P < 0.001); however, this trend was not significant when the MELD score was higher than 30. When the possible increase in DDLT chance was calculated via up-categorizing using MELD3.0, reducible waitlist mortality was 2.7%. Conclusion: MELD3.0 could predict better waitlist mortality than MELD; however, the merit for women and patients with severe ascites is uncertain, and reduced waitlist mortality from implementing MELD3.0 is limited in regions suffering from organ shortage, as in Korea.

      • Insecticide Resistance Monitoring Based on the Residual Contact Vial Bioassay in Frankliniella occidentalis

        An easy and rapid resistance detection protocol for the Western flower thrips Frankliniella occidentalis was established based on the residual contact vial bioassay (RCV), in which insecticide resistance levels can be estimated at 8 h-post treatment of diagnostic doses. The RDA strain was used as a reference susceptible strain, which has been reared under laboratory conditions over 10 years without exposure to any insecticides. Seven insecticides were tested for the determination of diagnostic dose. Among them, five insecticides (chlorfenapyr, acrinathrin, spinosad, emmamectin benzoate and thiamethoxam, ranged as 0.03 ~ 0.42 μg-1cm2) were applicable to the RCV. However, two insecticides (omethoate and imidacloprid) were not able to be used for the RCV because the treated inner surface of glass vials by these insecticides were too viscous, causing non-specific mortality. The RCV detection kit was employed for the estimation of resistance levels for the five insecticides in five local populations. Almost field-collected populations revealed high levels of resistance to the four insecticides (acrinathrin, spinosad, emmamectin benzoate and thiamethoxam) by showing less than 50% mortality. The baseline resistance detection by RCV method will facilitate the selection of proper insecticides for farmers to manage insecticide resistant-populations of F. occidentalis.

        식생활 라이프스타일이 가정편의식(HMR) 선택속성과 행동의도에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of eating life style on HMR selection attributes and behavioral intention, and to examine the relationship between eating life style, selection attribute, and behavioral intention. For this purpose, the concept of each variable and the relationship between these variables are examined through literature review and empirical analysis. For the empirical analysis of this study, 300 questionnaires were distributed to eateries who had experience of family consciousness in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces from August 1, 2017 to August 20, 2017, 292 copies were used as samples. The statistical program of SPSS 18.0 was used to analyze the data of the questionnaire and the frequency analysis was conducted to examine the general characteristics of the sample. The exploratory factor analysis and the reliability analysis were conducted on the measurement variables. Prior to the hypothesis testing, correlation analysis was performed to find the relationship between variables and multiple regression analysis was conducted for hypothesis testing. This study can be used as basic data for development of various products such as product differentiation, convenience product for health, low price product, premium product, and organic product.

        인라인스케이트 참여자의 중도포기 원인 분석

        This research is to define inline skaters` various needs and wants on inline skating programs in which participants have been decreased, and to identify the participants` general traits and pattern of their involvement in the programs. It also tries to provide substantial information on why the participants make a dropout in the middle of programs. Subsequently, this study intends to suggest solutions of increasing population of inline skaters based on data provided. The subjects of the research are people or inline skaters who are members of inline skaters` clubs and have joined inline skating programs. They are over twenty years old adults and live in CHUNG NAM province. They are asked to respond to survey questionnaires and the number of the surveys collected is 267 out of 300, about 89% of response is turned in with responses. However, eight out of the 267 responses is excluded under the researchers` discern due to the inappropriate or missing responses to the survey questions. Therefore, total of 259 responses (86.3%), one 174 males and 85 females, is used as valid samples. SPSS 12.0 is also used to do Chi-square test and cross analysis. Two hypotheses are featured in the research: first, there should be difference on actual condition of involvement in an inline skating program according to participants` traits and characteristics. Secondly, there would be difference on reasons of dropout of the program according to the participants` traits and characteristics. The outcome of the research conducted based on data and methods are following; there have been significant differences in the actual condition of participation in an line skating program due to the participants traits and characteristics and secondly, there have been statistically significant differences in the cause of dropouts according to their traits and characteristics. base on the research , professional inline skating trainers should be on riding to improve and motivating the inline skaters` motor skill. Furthermore, inline skating instructors should enlarge diversity on inline skating programs by introducing various programs to make people interested in the inline skating program and eventually to increase inline skating population. They also should create and develop programs in which people show interests in the program and do inline skating regularly with anticipation.
