Adhesion GPR123 is an indicator for recurrence and prognosis in bladder cancer

        Liu Yaming,Wang Guodong,Cui Tongwei,Lv Lin 한국유전학회 2021 Genes & Genomics Vol.43 No.11

Background Bladder cancer is a common urinary cancer, and most patients sufer tumor recurrence after surgery. Identifying more prognostic biomarkers is an essential task for precious treatment. Objective To evaluate the expression and clinical signifcance of GPR123, Angiotensin-I a type of adhesion G proteincoupled receptors (aGPCRs), in bladder cancer. Methods The expressions of GPR123 in two retrospective cohorts comprised of 150 and 56 patients with bladder cancer respectively, were detected with and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Moreover, GPR123 mRNAs in 11 non-muscle-invasive bladder cancers (NMIBCs) and 11 muscle-invasive bladder cancers (MIBCs) were detected with qRT-PCR. The correlation between GPR123 and the clinicopathological characters was estimated by Chi-square test. The signifcance of GPR123 and other clinicopathological characters in recurrence and prognosis of bladder cancer was evaluated by univariate and multivariate analyses. Results GPR123 was mainly expressed in the cell membrane of bladder cancer. The percentages of high GPR123 expression in NMIBC and MIBC were 38.32 and 55.81% in cohort 1, and 16.00 and 43.90% in cohort 2. With qRT-PCR and IHC, we showed that GPR123 expression in MIBC was signifcantly higher than that in NMIBC. GPR123 was signifcantly associated with T and M stage of bladder cancer. GPR123 expression was all correlated with recurrence (disease-free survival rate), and prognosis (overall survival rate). High GPR123 expression was identifed as independent biomarker indicating easier recurrence and poorer prognosis. Conclusions GPR123 was an independent biomarker of bladder cancer for recurrence and prognosis, indicating that GPR123 detection with IHC after operation could help fnd the high-risk patients and direct the post-operational surveillance.

Research on intelligent launching control of dual clutch transmissions based on adaptive neural fuzzy inference system

        Guodong Zhao,Yonggang Liu,Kening Zhai,Fengyang Jiang,Qi Huang,Zheng Chen 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.7

Vehicle launching has an important influence on driving performance of the vehicle. For vehicles with dual clutch transmissions (DCT), the clutch torque control is the key to the launching control. Therefore, a data-driven control method for DCT launching process based on adaptive neural fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is proposed. Firstly, the vehicle test data during launching process is collected and the optimal clutch torque is obtained based on multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO). Afterward, to learn the launching control rules from optimization results, the combination of neural network and fuzzy logic algorithm, referred to as an ANFIS, is established. The dataset of the optimized launching clutch torque is utilized to train the ANFIS controller. Finally, the simulation and test results show that the datadriven control can accurately learn the launching control rules from the optimality, thereby achieving the optimal control for different launching intentions.

Thickness effect on the stability of unipolar resistance switching in tin ferrite thin films

        Guodong Gong,Changjin Wu,Pengfei Hu,Ying Li,Namic Kwon,Chunli Liu 한국물리학회 2016 Current Applied Physics Vol.16 No.9

We report the reproducible unipolar resistance switching behavior in Pt/SnFe2O4/Pt structures. The amorphous SnFe2O4 thin film was spin-coated on the Pt/TiO2/SiO2/Si substrate by a sol-gel method. The current-voltage characterization showed that as the spin coating cycles increased, the resistive switching (RS) characteristics became stable, and an excellent RS performance showing uniform set voltage distribution, stable resistance of both low resistance and high resistance states, and narrow reset current distribution can be obtained in SFO films with a thickness about 220 nm. Based on the conducting filament model, the variation of the RS behavior was ascribed to the increase of the electroforming voltage in the thicker films, which consequently induced more oxygen vacancies to participate in the RS process. Our results indicated that the electroforming voltage performs a significant role in the RS properties of the amorphous SnFe2O4 and the optimized RS behavior through the regulation of preparation process can be used for the resistance random access memory applications.

A remark on the exponential inequality for negatively associated random variables

Guodong Xing,Shanchao Yang,Ailin Liu,Xiangping Wang 한국통계학회 2009 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.38 No.1

We give an exponential inequality for negatively associated random variables. The inequality improves the corresponding result which was obtained in [Kim, T. S., & Kim, H. C. (2007). On the exponential inequality for negatively dependent sequence. Korean Mathematical Society. Communications, 22(2), 315321]. We also obtain the convergence rate n-1/2.log n3/2 for the strong law of large numbers, which improves the corresponding one obtained by the authors in the above-cited reference.

Metabolome and Transcriptome Analyses Reveal Tissue‑Specifc Variations in Gene Expression and Metabolites of Olive

        Liu Xiaoxia,Zhang Jianguo,Luo Ying,Rao Guodong 한국식물학회 2020 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.63 No.1

Metabolome and transcriptional correlation analyses can be used to reveal the relationship between metabolites and gene expression in diferent tissues. Here, targeted metabolome and Illumina RNA-Seq analyses were used for the identifcation of co-regulated metabolites and genes from three diferent tissue of Olea europaea (fruits, new leaves, and old leaves). In total, 57.49 Gb of clean data from nine samples was obtained. The clean data of each sample reached 5.25 Gb, and the Q30 base percentage exceeded 88.44%. Through sequence alignments of clean reads from each sample with the olive reference genome, 3049 newly annotated genes were identifed, of which 2350 were functionally annotated. Diferentially expressed genes (DEGs) and metabolite correlation analysis showed that most of the up-regulated genes in fruits were enriched in fatty acid (FA) biosynthesis metabolic pathways; the up-regulated genes in leaves were mainly related to plant hormones, biotic (abiotic) stress tolerance, signal transduction, and secondary metabolite biosynthesis pathways. The current global gene expression and metabolite content profling exercise provides a comprehensive view of the combination of transcriptome and metabolome data, which provides valuable information for identifying DEGs in olives.

Erector Spinae Atrophy Correlates with Global Sagittal Imbalance and Postoperative Proximal Junctional Kyphosis Incidence in Lumbar Degenerative Kyphosis

        Wang Guodong,Li Yang,Zhang Chenggui,Liu Ping,Sun Jianmin 대한척추외과학회 2024 Asian Spine Journal Vol.18 No.1

Study Design: Retrospective cohort study. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between lumbar erector muscle atrophy and global sagittal imbalance in lumbar degenerative kyphosis (LDK) and with postoperative proximal junctional kyphosis. Overview of Literature: Lumbar erector muscle atrophy has been studied in LDK. However, its role in the compensatory mechanism is still under intense discussion, and the role of erector spinae (ES) muscle is always overlooked. Methods: This study enrolled 51 patients with LDK out of 382 patients with adult degenerative spinal deformity. Baseline information was reviewed including demographic data and complications. Sagittal spinopelvic alignments and global imbalance parameters were assessed on full-length X-ray images of the spine. Muscularity and the fatty infiltration area of the ES and multifidus (MF) were measured at the L4/5 level on preoperative magnetic resonance image to evaluate the lumbar erector muscle atrophy. Stratification by sagittal vertical axis (SVA) was performed: group 1 with SVA <100 mm and group 2 with SVA >100 mm, and these groups were compared. Spearman correlation and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to analyze and define risk factors of postoperative proximal junctional kyphosis (PJK). Results: Group 2 had lower ES and MF muscularity than group 1. ES muscularity correlated with SVA (r=−0.510, p=0.003), lumbar lordosis (r=−0.415, p=0.018), and postoperative PJK (r=−0.508, p=0.022). MF muscularity did not correlate with the above parameters. Multivariable logistic regression analysis verified ES muscularity (odds ratio [OR], 0.001; p=0.039) and SVA (OR, 1.034; p=0.048) as the risk factors for postoperative PJK. Conclusions: ES atrophy, besides the MF, is an important predictor in distinguishing decompensated LDK from well-compensated ones. It plays an important role in compensatory mechanism, not only correlates with global sagittal imbalance but also ties to PJK after deformity corrective surgery.
