Efficacy of Fluopicolide against Phytophthora capsici Causing Pepper Phytophthora Blight
신진호,김주형,Hyungjo Kim,Heung Tae Kim,Bumgwan Kang,김경태,Jeongdeug Lee 한국식물병리학회 2010 Plant Pathology Journal Vol.26 No.4
In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of fluopicolide to inhibit Phytophthora capsici in vitro, and to control pepper Phytophthora blight in a greenhouse and pepper fields. Fluopicolide was tested on various developmental stages of P. capsici 06-143 (a sensitive isolate to metalaxyl)and JHAW1-2 (a resistant isolate to metalaxyl). Mycelial growth and zoosporangium germination of both isolates were completely inhibited at 4.0 μg/ml of the fungicide in vitro. The EC50 (effective concentrations reducing 50%) of P. capsici 06-143 against zoospore were 0.219 μg/ml, while those of JHAW1-2 were 3.829μg/ml. When fluopicolide was applied at 100 and 1,000μg/ml 7 days before inoculation with P. capsici 06-143 in the greenhouse test, the disease was controlled completely until 6 days after inoculation. However, the curative effect of fluopicolide was not as much as the protective effect. When fluopicolide was applied by both soil drenching and foliar spraying, the treatments strongly protected pepper against the Phytophthora blight disease. Based on these results, fluopicolide can be a promising candidate for a fungicide to control P. capsici in the pepper fields.
IMPROVING GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN RISK IDENTIFICATION USING RCF
MYUNGHYUN JUNG,이세연,김민중,HYUNGJO KIM,JAEHO LEE 한국산업응용수학회 2022 Journal of the Korean Society for Industrial and A Vol.26 No.4
This paper contains an introduction to industrial problems, solutions, and results conducted with the Korea Association of Machinery Industry. The client company commissioned the problem of upgrading the method of identifying global supply risky items. Accordingly, the factors affecting the supply and demand of imported items in the global supply chain were identified and the method of selecting risky items was studied and delivered. Through research and discussions with the client companies, it is confirmed that the most suitable factors for identifying global supply risky items are ’import size’, ’import dependence’, and ’trend abnormality’. The meaning of each indicator is introduced, and risky items are selected using export/import data until October 2022. Through this paper, it is expected that countries and companies will be able to identify global supply risky items in advance and prepare for risks in the new normal situation: the economic situation caused by infectious diseases such as the COVID-19 pandemic; and the export/import regulation due to geopolitical problems. The client company will include in his report, the method presented in this paper and the risky items selected by the method.
In particular, the investigation of tendons in PSC Box Girder Bridge should be done in a systematic way. It is important to identify preventative maintenance activities that should be carried out in order to analyze the risk factors by type of representative tensions and to reduce risks in the long term. However, in the current maintenance system, various methodologies for investigating and repairing tensions have been studied, but it is difficult to investigate precisely tensions. Therefore, to apply the risk assessment for screening of tensions to the domestic PSC Box Bridge, we presented a risk matrix evaluation index that is consistent with the state assessment and maintenance system.

Melatonin is involved in the regulation of various biological functions. Here, we explored a novel molecular mechanism by which the melatonin-induced sestrin2 (SESN2)-small heterodimer partner (SHP) signaling pathway protects against fasting- and diabetes-mediated hepatic glucose metabolism. Various key gene expression analyses were performed and multiple metabolic changes were assessed in liver specimens and primary hepatocytes of mice and human participants. The expression of the hepatic cereblon (CRBN) and b-cell translocation gene 2 (BTG2) genes was significantly increased in fasting mice, diabetic mice, and patients with diabetes. Overexpression of Crbn and Btg2 increased hepatic gluconeogenesis by enhancing cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP)-responsive element-binding protein H (CREBH), whereas this phenomenon was prominently ablated in Crbn null mice and Btg2-silenced mice. Interestingly, melatonin-induced SESN2 and SHP markedly reduced hepatic glucose metabolism in diabetic mice and primary hepatocytes, and this protective effect of melatonin was strikingly reversed by silencing Sesn2 and Shp. Finally, the melatonin-induced SESN2-SHP signaling pathway inhibited CRBN- and BTG2-mediated hepatic gluconeogenic gene transcription via the competition of BTG2 and the interaction of CREBH. Mitigation of the CRBN-BTG2-CREBH axis by the melatonin-SESN2-SHP signaling network may provide a novel therapeutic strategy to treat metabolic dysfunction due to diabetes.
