Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate correlation of cohesion in mentor-mentee relationship, interpersonal ability, and cadet life satisfaction in Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy. Methods: This study was designed as a cross-sectional descriptive study. Data were collected from 316 Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy cadets, using a self-reported questionnaire composed of items about general characteristics, cohesion in mentor-mentee relationship, interpersonal ability, and cadet life satisfaction. Results: The average of cohesion in mentor-mentee relationship, interpersonal ability and cadet life satisfaction was 4.11±0.51, 3.43±0.52 and 3.74±0.47 out of 5. Cohesion in mentor-mentee relationship was positively correlated with both interpersonal ability (r=.25, p<.001), and cadet life satisfaction (r=53, p<.001). In addition, there was significantly positive correlation between interpersonal ability and cadet life satisfaction (r=.49, p<.001). Conclusion: Cohesion in mentor-mentee relationship and interpersonal ability showed statistically significant positive correlations with cadet life satisfaction. Therefore, it will be necessary to do study for program development to improve the cohesion in mentor-mentee relationship and interpersonal ability in order to enhance cadet life satisfaction.
Antiviral Activity of Gemcitabine Against Echovirus 30 Infection in Vitro

Echovirus 30 is one of the major causes of meningitis in children and adults. The purpose of our current study was to investigate whether selected antiviral drugs could provide antiviral activity against echovirus 30. Using RD cells, we assessed the cytopathic effect of echovirus 30, including viral RNA levels as indicators of viral replication. The effects of gemcitabine were compared to rupintrivir, a well-known antiviral drug. To understand the activity gemcitabine exerts on the viral life cycle, time course and time-of-addition assays were implemented. The most effective compounds against echovirus 30 were gemcitabine and rupintrivir, as demonstrated by their concentration-dependent activity. Gemcitabine affects the early stages of echovirus 30 infection by disrupting viral replication. However, gemcitabine failed to directly inactivate echovirus 30 particles or impede viral uptake into the RD cells. Gemcitabine can be considered as a lead candidate in the development of echovirus 30 antiviral drugs, specifically in the early stages of echovirus 30 replication.

<P>We demonstrated analog memory, synaptic plasticity, and a spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP) function with a nanoscale titanium oxide bilayer resistive switching device with a simple fabrication process and good yield uniformity. We confirmed the multilevel conductance and analog memory characteristics as well as the uniformity and separated states for the accuracy of conductance change. Finally, STDP and a biological triple model were analyzed to demonstrate the potential of titanium oxide bilayer resistive switching device as synapses in neuromorphic devices. By developing a simple resistive switching device that can emulate a synaptic function, the unique characteristics of synapses in the brain, e.g. combined memory and computing in one synapse and adaptation to the outside environment, were successfully demonstrated in a solid state device. </P>

Objective: We aimed to present our initial experience with robotic single-port surgery performed using the da Vinci® SP surgical system for benign gynecologic diseases. Methods: This retrospective cohort study was performed at an academic tertiary care hospital From December 30, 2018 to July 18, 2019. Ninety eight women with benign gynecologic diseases underwent robotic single-port surgery performed using the da Vinci® SP surgical system. Results: During the study period, hysterectomy, myomectomy, adnexectomy, sacrocolpopexy were performed in 36, 33, 20 and 9 cases, respectively. The mean age and body mass index of patients, respectively, were 44.0 ± 10.8 years and 23.1 ± 3.3 kg/m2. In terms of operative outcomes, the mean docking time, operating time, estimated blood loss, and hospitalization time were 2.0 ± 1.3 minutes, 138.6 ± 65.9 minutes, 106.0 ± 109.4 mL, and 4.7 ± 0.9 days. There was no laparoconversion or major complication. Conclusion: Robotic single port laparoscopy using the da Vinci SP surgical system might be an alternative surgical technique for various benign gynecologic diseases However, further studies are required to clarify the feasibility and safety of the new robot surgical system.
Three year experiences of 627 robotic single-site surgery cases in single institute: first reports

Objective: The purpose of this study was to report 627 cases of successful robotic single-site (RSS) surgeries and to evaluate the feasibility and safety of RSS surgery in gynecology field. Methods: A total of 627 cases of RSS surgery performed by 3 gynecologic surgeons at Ewha Womans University Medical Center from Nov 2014 to Dec 2017, were collected retrospectively. We reviewed the patients charts and analyzed clinical characteristics and surgical variables. We also analyzed the trends of operation-related variables with one-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis analysis, and linear regression analysis, trend analysis using SPSS version 18.0. Results: All of total 627 cases of robotic single-site surgeries, RSS myomectomy was 221 cases, RSS-hysterectomy was 180 cases, RSS adnexectomy was 190cases, RSS sacrocolpopexy was 26 cases and other RSS surgeries including vaginal vault cystectomy and tumorectomy were 10 cases. There were 2 cases of conversion to multi-site robot surgery, 1 case to laparotomy and 1 case to laparoscopy. The mean age was 39.08±10.05 (16-75) yrs and the main symptoms was routine check-up (389 cases, 62.1%). The mean anesthesia time was 159.67±53.85 (50.0-403.0) mins, mean operation time was 118.19±51.40 (25.0-385.0) mins. The mean docking time was 3.98±2.12(1.1-15) mins, mean EBL was 165.02±197.58 (0-1500) ml, mean hospitalization day was 4.75±1.02(3-14)days. We analyzed 627 cases into 1 yr interval. The mean anesthesia time, operation time, postoperative sips of time were decreased significantly according to the each period. The docking time was decreased significantly after 1yr period. There was a few intraoperative or perioperative complication in 15cases (2.3%). The 8 cases of fever (1.2%), 3 cases of ileus (0.4%), 2 bowel injury case, each one case of AKI and pleural effusion case were noted. Conclusion: RSS surgery is a feasible and safe procedure in variable gynecologic diseases. More experiences to perform RSS surgery can make better surgical results.

The purpose of this study is to gather basic data required for career education and development of employment assistance services for women students. The survey covers such issues as women students' desired jobs, their understanding of the labor market, employment preparations, and so on. Survey subjects are 3,000 junior college students and 3,000 university students. The result of the survey is compared to those of other statistical surveys dealing with the employment conditions of young university graduates. Macro statistical data materials used for comparative study include “2006 Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey (KEIS),” “2007 Economically Active Population Survey (KNSO),” “2007 Occupational Employment Statistics (KEIS),” etc. Most significant differences between female students and male students are as follows: First, more female students like administrative jobs and professional jobs, and there is less variety in their desired jobs. Accordingly, there is fierce competition among female students over jobs that they prefer (teacher, social welfare worker, dietician, government administrative officer, trade clerk and financial employee). Second, whereas male students at junior colleges and universities prefer male-dominated occupations, female university students also showed a strong tendency to enter male-dominated occupations rather than female-dominated occupations. Third, as we compared the desired salaries of male and female students who want the same profession, we found that female students' desired salaries deviate less from the actual salaries. Fourth, although over half of new female (junior college and university) graduates are employed in private businesses (including medium and small companies and foreign corporations), female students show a great preference for public sector organizations (government organizations, state enterprises, public corporations and government-funded organizations) that employ just around 10% of new female college or university graduates. Fifth, 62.5% of female junior college students and 64.9% of female university students think that acquiring advanced academic degrees is helpful in getting jobs, and these are higher percentages compared to male students. Finally, women students consider working conditions that include elimination of sexual discrimination in employment and promotion, maternity protection and childcare support much more important compared to male students.
