Gastric cancer is a leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stressinduced apoptosis has been confirmed to be important in the treatment of gastric cancer. MiR- 637 has recently been found to exert inhibitory effects on gastric cancer, and this study aimed to investigate whether miR-637 could regulate apoptosis through ER stress. The results showed that tunicamycin (TM) induced downregulation of miR-637 in gastric cancer cells (AGS) and increase of apoptosis and ER stress. Overexpression of miR-637 promoted TM-induced apoptosis and expression of ER stress associated proteins (GRP78 and CHOP), but inhibited expression of Calreticulin. MiR-637 could bind with the 3ʹ-UTR of CALR, and negatively regulated the expression of CALR. The co-transfection of miR-637 and CALR in AGS cells show that, CALR overexpression could reverse the pro-apoptosis effects of miR-637 in TM-treated cells. In conclusion, the present study suggests that miR-637 participates in ER stress-induced apoptosis in gastric cancer cells by suppressing CALR expression. miR-637 or CALR may be a future potential target for gastric cancer treatment.

통속소설에 관한 개념은 대단히 많지만, 그렇다고 해서 실제 존재하는 통속소설의 양적, 질적 변화에 영향을 미치는 것은 아니다. 우리는 통속소설이 그 어떤 특별한 것이 아니라는 것에서 시작하여 얘기를 끌어 갈 수 있다. 통속소설이 그 어떤 특별한 것이 아니라는 것을 인지한 후, 우리들이 늘상 말하는 통속소설을 $quot;○○○이 아니다$quot; 라는 논지에서 그 개념과 정의를 정리할 수 있을 것이다. 필자는 통속소설을 다음과 같이 정리한다. 첫째, 통속소설은 $quot;엄숙하지 않은 소설(오락성이 강한 소설)$quot; 이 아니다. 둘째, 통속소설은 $quot;고상하지 않는 소설(저급한 대중 소설)$quot; 이 아니다. 셋째, 통속소설은 $quot;순수하지 않는 소설(非순수 소설)$quot; 이 아니다. 마지막, 통속소설은 $quot;예술성이 결핍된 소설$quot; 이 아니다. 그렇다면, 통속소설과 $quot;非통속소설$quot; 사이에는 구별이 없는가? 물론 있다. 그러나, 구별은 형용사에 있는 것이 아니라, 명사에 있다. 그들 사이에는 분류상의 차이만 있을 뿐, 심미적 가치 면에서 높고 낮음의 수직관계는 없다고 보여진다.
Dream: Combination of Kinetic Art and Images

The combination of kinetic installation art and images is an attempt of the creation of a new media installation art, and practices and research materials relating to it are very rare in China. This paper explores the relationship between creative concepts and creative forms of image kinetic installations in a contemporary context, dives into the combination and complementation of these two artistic forms in expressing creative concepts, discusses them based on the creative experience, and tries to get more recognition for image kinetic installation art, and provide a theoretical support for later artistic creations. Kinetic art is an extension of installation art, and a new media image art which emphasizes the concept. The art form of combining kinetic art with the most popular new media image art was selected as the research topic of this study, with the aim of demonstrating future trends in this art form through studying and elaborating the relationship between the development and the creation concept of this art form.
Chronic Kidney Disease and Associated Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Chinese with Type 2 Diabetes

Background: To determine the frequency of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and its associated risk factors in Chinese type 2 diabetic patients, we conducted a cross-sectional study in Nanjing, China, in the period between January 2008 and December 2009. Methods: Patients with type 2 diabetes under the care by Jiangsu Province Official Hospital, Nanjing, China were invited for assessment. CKD was defined as the presence of albuminuria or estimated glomerular filtration rate <60 mL/min/1.73 m2. Albuminuria was defined as urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio ≥30 mg/g. Results: We recruited 1,521 urban Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes (mean age, 63.9±12.0 years). The frequency of CKD and albuminuria was 31.0% and 28.9%, respectively. After adjusted by age and sex, hypertension, anemia and duration of diabetes were significantly associated with CKD with odds ratio (95% confidence interval) being 1.93 (1.28 to 2.93), 1.70 (1.09 to 2.64), and 1.03 (1.00 to 1.06), respectively. Conclusion: In conclusion, CKD was common in the urban Nanjing Chinese with type 2 diabetes. Strategies to prevent or delay progression of kidney disease in diabetes should be carried out at the early disease course of type 2 diabetes.
Research on Multi-sensory Experience of Virtual Reality Art

Since the 20th century, virtual reality art has immensely developed. In recent years, a new cultural transformation has occurred. With the development of computer digital technology, three-dimensional virtual reality generated using computer digital algorithms is providing users a multi-channel experience of sight, hearing, touch, and other senses. This makes them feel as if they are present on the location in nature and allows users to observe things in a three-dimensional space instantly and without restriction. With the continuous development and progress of virtual reality technology, it has also been employed in the field of art, providing artists with multiple opportunities for further exploring the connection and development between art and outside world. Combining virtual reality technology and art to realize virtual reality art has become an important trend in future art development. Virtual reality technology has the characteristic of multi-sensory coordinated expression of works of art. However, the real effect of a virtual reality environment needs to be improved.

In current work, hydrophobic and oleophilic polyurethane (Al2O3/PUF) foam sponge was prepared by foaming technology. The material was characterized by XRD, TEM, BET, SEM and water contact angles (CA). The Al2O3/PUF was applied to removal of oil or organic solvent from oil/water system. Water contact angle of Al2O3/PUF could exceed 140°. The absorption capacity of Al2O3/PUF could be obtained 37 g/g and found to be reusable up to 10 cycles while maintaining its high absorption capacity. The result indicated that prepared foam sponge has good potential application in oil–water separation.
Group Effect of Dragload in Pile Groups Embedded in Consolidating Soil under Embankment Load

In this paper, model tests and numerical simulations on 3 × 3 pile group embedded in consolidating soil under embankment load with different pile spacings are carried out. Single pile and 2 × 2 pile group are studied for comparative analyses. The performances of dragload versus relative displacement of pile-soil, load sequence and load rate, and the group effects of dragload and downdrag versus pile spacing are analyzed. A case study on dragload of a pile group considering with or without couple effect is also presented. It is worth pointing out that in this experimental condition, when pile-soil relative displacements reach 2 mm, dragload will reaches nearly 75-95% of the maximum values; When consolidation time reaches 240 h, the neutral plane becomes stable approximately at 0.95H (H is the thickness of compression soil). The dragload and downdrag are influenced by load sequence of pile head load versus surcharge load.

Three new compounds named penicitor A,aculene E and penicitor B, as well as four known compounds,were isolated from the fermentation broth ofPenicillium sp. SCS-KFD08 associated with a marineanimal Sipunculus nudus from the Haikou bay of China. Their planar structures and absolute configurations wereunambiguously elucidated by spectroscopic data, Mosher’smethod, CD spectrum analysis along with quantumECD calculation. Among them, compounds 2–7 showedquorum sensing inhibitory activity against Chromobacteriumviolaceum CV026, and could significantly reduceviolacein production in N-hexanoyl-l-homoserine lactone(C6-HSL) induced C. violaceum CV026 cultures at subinhibitoryconcentrations.
