하수처리수 방류 하천의 물환경과 저서성 대형무척추동물 군집 생태 연구

Water quality, benthic macroinvertebrate communities, and other factors were investigated to explore the effects of the effluent discharge from a sewage treatment plant into Jwagwang stream in Busan in 2019. During the study period, the flow rate of this stream was in the range of 10,400 ㎥/day to 52,200 ㎥/day except for the discharge of about 24,000 ㎥/day of the effluent. After discharge, the flow velocity increased by about 65% and the water depth increased by about 40%. At sites downstream of the discharge point, BOD, COD, TOC, T-N, T-P, and other water quality values were worse than those of the upstream sites. The periphytic algal chlorophyll-a concentrations in the natural substrata were higher than those of the upstream sites, especially in May and August. However, at sites downstream of the discharge point, the individual numbers of Annelida were decreased and individual numbers of the insecta of arthropoda were increased. Also, species numbers and the diversity and dominance indexes were improved in the sites downstream of the discharge point. The functional feeding groups (FFGs) of collector-filterers were increased and the habitat orientation groups (HOGs) of sprawlers, burrowers, and clingers were especially increased at the sites with additional reclaimed wastewater effluent flow. Regardless of the effluent discharge, BMI, an indicator of ecological stream health using benthic macroinvertebrate species, did not show large gaps between the study points. Although the water quality of the sites downstream of the discharge point was much worse than those upstream, their ecosystem soundness was better than those of the upstream sites from an ecological perspective.

A chronic expanding hematoma (CEH) in the thorax is a rare and specific condition of chronic empyema. CEHs in the thorax are often associated with tuberculosis and/or previous surgical procedures. While the incidental detection of a pleural mass and dyspnea are common clinical manifestations, a few cases present with hemoptysis. We encountered a case of CEH in the thorax. This case is unique in that it developed without a prior history of tuberculosis or surgery and presented with massive hemoptysis accompanied by bronchopleural fistula. We report the third case of CEH in the thorax in Korea with a summary of the clinical characteristics of previous cases. (Tuberc Respir Dis 2008;65:216-221)
부산지역 도시하천 표층 퇴적물 오염도 평가에 관한 연구

This work investigated heavy metal pollution in surface sediments of rivers in Busan, Korea. Surface sediments were analyzed in order to conduct contamination assessment of organic matter, nutrients, and heavy metal concentrations. Contamination assessment of heavy metals was conducted using geoaccumulation index (I<sub>geo</sub>), pollution load index (PLI), and potential ecological risk index (RI). Accumulation of organic matter and nutrients were affected by water discharged from sewage treatment plant. The concentrations of organic matter and nutrients were found to be greater in points which were close to the sewage treatment plant more than points furthest. The concentrations of Pb, Zn, Cu, Cd, Hg, As, Cr, and Ni were found to be greater in surface sediment more than in the background. The mean concentrations of heavy metals were in the order of Zn (323.5 mg/kg) > Cu (70.5 mg/kg) > Pb (39.8 mg/kg) > Cr (33.4 mg/kg) > Ni (13.5 mg/kg) > As (9.4 mg/kg) > Cd (0.84 mg/kg) > Hg (0.092 mg/kg). The result of geoaccumulation indices indicated that Hg > Cr > Cu > Ni > Zn > As > Pb > Cd were found in order of severe contamination by heavy metals. From PLI and RI analysis, it was evident that the Suyeonggang 2 was the most contaminated river.
Characteristics of Water Quality and Biological Changes in the Onchun Stream

낙동강 유지용수가 공급되고 있는 온천천을 대상으로 2009년 10월부터 2010년 10월까지 수질 및 생물학적 인자변화를 조사하였다. 조사결과 온천천은 BOD, TN, TP 그리고 중금속 농도가 낙동강 유지용수가 공급되기 이전인 2005년에 비해 뚜렷하게 감소한 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 BOD 평균농도가 2.0 mg/l로 모든 지점이 2급수를 유지하였다. 또한 온천천 수중에 존재하는 플랑크톤과 저서성 대형 무척추동물의 종 및 개체수도 증가한 것으로 조사되었다. 결론적으로 낙동강 유지용수가 공급된 이후에 온천천은 수질 및 생물변화와 같은 물 환경인자가 상당히 개선되었음을 알 수 있었다. This study investigated the changes caused by diverting water applications at the riverhead of the Onchun Stream via the monitoring of several water quality and biological parameters between 10/09 and 10/10. The analysis indicated that the Onchun Stream distinctly decreased in terms of several water quality parameters, such as BOD, COD, TN, TP, and the concentration of heavy metals as compared to similar values in 2005, before the flowing of the Nakdong River. Especially, BOD showed the 2nd grade of water quality, with an average of 2.0 mg/l at all sites. The species number and standing crops of plankton and benthic macroinvertebrates in the Onchun Stream were also increased. Thus, it was concluded that diverting water from the Nakdong River to the Onchun Stream dramatically improved various environmental indices, such as water quality and biological changes.
영국 주택시장의 구조와 주택가격 상승에 대한 대응 정책

1990년대 중반 이후 세계적인 저금리 기조 속에 1996년에서 2007년까지 영국의 주택 평균가격은 3배 이상 상승했다. 해당기간 주택가격 상승은 투기적 주택 수요로 이어져 모기지 대출이 크게 증가했으며, 주택가격 상승 국면에서 자산효과로 신용 소비가 크게 늘면서 영국 가계의 부채가 커지기 시작했다. 또한 업체간의 과도한 경쟁으로 모기지 은행의 부실이 심화되는 등 주택가격 상승으로 인한 부작용이 표면에 드러났다. 영국 정부는 이에 저렴주택을 중심으로 한 공급 확대 정책과 부동산 세제 개편을 통한 수요 조절 정책을 통해 근본적인 주택가격 상승의 원인인 수급 불균형을 조절하되, 금리인상 정책을 함께 추진해 투기적 수요를 차단하려 했다. 주택가격 급등시기의 영국의 대응 정책이 한국에 시사하는 것은 적절한 시기에 금리 인상을 단행해 투기 수요를 미리 차단하려고 했던 점과 저렴주택의 공급을 통해 실제로 주택을 필요로 하는 계층의 수요를 중심으로 주택 문제를 풀어나가려 했다는 점이다. The average house price in the UK increased by more than three times during the period between 1996~2007. The soaring house prices was followed by speculative demand as a side effect. Moreover, this triggered increase in household debt, over-consumption through wealth effect and intensive competition in the mortgage market which has led to many mortgage lenders to falter. In response, the British government employed a housing supply policy focusing on affordable housing. At the same time, it also instituted a demand control policy with real estate tax reform. In harmony with the government’s attempt for adjusting the mismatch between supply and demand in the housing market, the Monetary Policy Committee raised interest rate from Nov. 2003 until Nov. 2007, which contributed to reduce speculative demand in the market. \The major implications of the UK policies for rising housing prices to the Korean situation are as follows: First, it has tried to block speculative demand by raising interest rate timely. Second, it has focused on actual demand with affordable housing schemes in housing supply policy.
수질, 저서성 대형무척추동물 및 어류의 생태특성을 이용한 수영강 중류 수생태 건강성 평가

Bentic macroinvertebrate and fish fauna were investigated from September 2008 to October 2009 in the middle reach of the Suyoung river in Busan. During the survey period benthic macroinvertebrates were collected total 35 species at the three sites (Hanmul-gyo, Dongcheon-gyo, Seokdae Jct.) of Suyoung river. At that sites, species diversity index was 1.9, 1.5, 1.6, dominance index was 0.75, 0.81, 0.86 and Korean Saprobic Index (KSI) was 1.8(B), 4.4(D), 4.4(D) on average, respectively. Dominant species was Caenis Kua, Chironomidae sp., at Hanmul-gyo site and Limnodrilus gotoi, Chironomidae sp., at Dongcheon-gyo and Seokdae Jct. sites. Fish fauna was also investigated at the two sites (Hanmul-gyo and Seokdae Jct.) of Suyoung river. Total caught fishes were 10 species 32 individuals in the first survey and 6 species 26 individuals in the second survey. Dominant species was Carassius auratus in the both surveys. Index of Biological Integrity (IBI) value was C grade at the Hanmul-gyo and D grade at the Seokdae Jct.
