Joint Optimization Algorithm Based on DCA for Three-tier Caching in Heterogeneous Cellular Networks

( Jun Zhang ),( Qi Zhu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2021 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.15 No.7

In this paper, we derive the expression of the cache hitting probability with random caching policy and propose the joint optimization algorithm based on difference of convex algorithm (DCA) in the three-tier caching heterogeneous cellular network assisted by macro base stations, helpers and users. Under the constraint of the caching capacity of caching devices, we establish the optimization problem to maximize the cache hitting probability of the network. In order to solve this problem, a convex function is introduced to convert the nonconvex problem to a difference of convex (DC) problem and then we utilize DCA to obtain the optimal caching probability of macro base stations, helpers and users for each content respectively. Simulation results show that when the density of caching devices is relatively low, popular contents should be cached to achieve a good performance. However, when the density of caching devices is relatively high, each content ought to be cached evenly. The algorithm proposed in this paper can achieve the higher cache hitting probability with the same density.

Structural and Functional Neural Alterations in Internet Addiction: A Study Protocol for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

        Jun-Li Liu,Jing-Ting Sun,Hui-Lin Hu,Hao-Yuan Wang,Yun-Xi Kang,Tian-Qi Chen,Zhu-Hong Chen,Yu-Xuan Shang,Yu-Ting Li,Bo Hu,Rui Liu 대한신경정신의학회 2023 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.20 No.1

A growing number of neuroimaging studies have revealed abnormal brain structural and functional alterations in subjects with internet addiction (IA), however, with conflicting conclusions. We plan to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis on the studies of voxelbased morphometry (VBM) and resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC), to reach a consolidated conclusion and point out the future direction in this field. A comprehensive search of rsFC and VBM studies of IA will be conducted in the PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases to retrieve studies published from the inception dates to August 2021. If the extracted data are feasible, activation likelihood estimation and seed-based d mapping methods will be used to meta-analyze the brain structural and functional changes in IA patients. This study will hopefully reach a consolidated conclusion on the impact of IA on human brain or point out the future direction in this field.

An improved SCGM(1,m) model for multi-point deformation analysis

        Qi-jie Wang,Chang-cheng Wang,Rong-an Xie,Xin-qing Zhang,Jian-jun Zhu 한국지질과학협의회 2014 Geosciences Journal Vol.18 No.4

Considering the deformation of discrete monitoringpoints within the same deformable body usually have similar physicalproperties and tend to undergoing identical dynamic process, jointmodelling of the deformation processes of these points in time domainare expected to generate better results. Yin et al. (1997) first extendedthe multi-variable grey model-system cloud grey model SCGM(1,m),with obviously superior modelling mechanism than single-variablegrey model, to multi-point deformation modelling. However, thismodel is still not widely recognized and its applications remain verylimited in the field of deformation analysis. The objective of this studyis to demonstrate the capability of the SCGM(1,m) model, to presenttwo revisions to further improve the performance of the model andto draw more attention to the community of deformation analysis. We first introduce the principles of the SCGM(1,m) model in theanalysis and prediction of deformation surveys. Two practicaltechniques, namely residuals re-modelling and linear regressionadjustment, are then presented to improve the SCGM(1,m) model. Combined with slope monitoring data, the modelling with the originaland the improved SCGM(1,m) models by residuals re-modellingand linear regression adjustment are illustrated. The mean relativeprediction errors decrease from 5.89% to 3.54% and 2.69%, whenthe two refining techniques are applied, respectively, indicating relativeimprovements of 39.9% and 54.3%.

Poly (dimethyl siloxane)/poly (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) interpenetrating polymer network beads as potential capsules for biomedical use

        Qi Tang,Jun-Rong Yu,Lei Chen,Jing Zhu,Zu-Ming Hu 한국물리학회 2011 Current Applied Physics Vol.11 No.3

Silicone hydrogels represent a series of novel materials designed for extensive applications especially in the biomedical field. In the current work, a method to obtain poly (dimethyl siloxane)/poly (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PDMS/PHEMA) interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) beads was developed. With further optimization, up to 43% PHEMA was incorporated into size controllable PDMS microspheres, offers an improved hydrophilicity and thus a reduced protein adsorption for long-term use. Furthermore, we found the PDMS/PHEMA IPN beads possess a hollow capsule-like structure, proposing their application as novel drug delivery vehicles. In vitro release studies have demonstrated two release patterns of these IPN beads for water-soluble drugs just by modulating the drug concentration, suggesting their possible applications in different delivery systems.

      • Efficacy and Safety of Bevacizumab in Chinese Patients with Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

        Zhu, Li-Ming,Zhao, Ya-Zhen,Ju, Hai-Xing,Liu, Lu-Ying,Chen, Lei,Liu, Bi-Xia,Xu, Qi,Luo, Cong,Ying, Jie-Er,Yang, Yun-Shan,Zhong, Hai-Jun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.16

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of bevacizumab in the treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Methods: In a single-center, observational study of 91 Chinese patients with mCRC who received bevacizumab in combination with chemotherapy was conducted. Objective response rates (ORRs), progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS) and adverse events were recorded, and the relationships between various clinical factors and PFS or OS were evaluated by Cox proportional hazards models. Results: Treatment with bevacizumab and chemotherapy was effective and tolerable. Univariate analysis showed that PFS and OS were significantly associated with the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG-PS) score, duration of bevacizumab exposure, and whether chemotherapy was continued after discontinuation of bevacizumab treatment. A multivariate analysis showed that the duration of bevacizumab exposure and whether chemotherapy was continued after discontinuation of bevacizumab were independent prognostic factors for PFS and OS. Conclusion: In Chinese mCRC population, the shorter the duration of exposure to bevacizumab and chemotherapy, the worse the prognosis is.

Preparation and properties of morphology controlled poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate)/poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) double networks for biomedical use

        Qi Tang,Jun-Rong Yu,Lei Chen,Jing Zhu,Zu-Ming Hu 한국물리학회 2010 Current Applied Physics Vol.10 No.3

Poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate)/poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PHEMA/PVP) double networks (DN) were prepared using a sequential method by incorporating a second network of crosslinked PVP into PHEMA. We found that the distributions of the two networks can be regulated just by modulating the morphology of the first network, thus giving expected high water content of these gels. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) were used to confirm the structure of the DN. The incorporation of more hydrophilic PVP enhanced swelling ability of these gels. Because of improved hydrophilicity, the PHEMA/PVP DN exhibited higher loading capability for water-soluble substance than that of pure PHEMA, while showed a slower release rate than corresponding HEMA/NVP copolymer hydrogel. It is suggested that the DN gels are potential biomaterials for wound dressing, medical implants and other drug delivery systems.

      • Towards high-accuracy data modelling, uncertainty quantification and correlation analysis for SHM measurements during typhoon events using an improved most likely heteroscedastic Gaussian process

        Qi’ang Wang,Zhi-Jun Liu,Hao-Bo Wang,Zhanguo Ma,Yi-Qing Ni,Jian Jiang,Rui Sun,Hao-Wei Zhu 국제구조공학회 2023 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.32 No.4

Data modelling and interpretation for structural health monitoring (SHM) field data are critical for evaluating structural performance and quantifying the vulnerability of infrastructure systems. In order to improve the data modelling accuracy, and extend the application range from data regression analysis to out-of-sample forecasting analysis, an improved most likely heteroscedastic Gaussian process (iMLHGP) methodology is proposed in this study by the incorporation of the outof- sample forecasting algorithm. The proposed iMLHGP method overcomes this limitation of constant variance of Gaussian process (GP), and can be used for estimating non-stationary typhoon-induced response statistics with high volatility. The first attempt at performing data regression and forecasting analysis on structural responses using the proposed iMLHGP method has been presented by applying it to real-world filed SHM data from an instrumented cable-stay bridge during typhoon events. Uncertainty quantification and correlation analysis were also carried out to investigate the influence of typhoons on bridge strain data. Results show that the iMLHGP method has high accuracy in both regression and out-of-sample forecasting. The iMLHGP framework takes both data heteroscedasticity and accurate analytical processing of noise variance (replace with a point estimation on the most likely value) into account to avoid the intensive computational effort. According to uncertainty quantification and correlation analysis results, the uncertainties of strain measurements are affected by both traffic and wind speed. The overall change of bridge strain is affected by temperature, and the local fluctuation is greatly affected by wind speed in typhoon conditions.

Juvenile hormone-mediated reproduction induced by a sublethal concentration of imidacloprid in Cyrtorhinus lividipennis (Hemiptera: Miridae)

        Jun Zhu,Yao Li,Ying-Ying Tang,Jian-Qi Liu,Yi-Yu Chen,Zhongxian LV,Fang Liu 한국응용곤충학회 2020 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.23 No.1

The Hemipteran predator, Cyrtorhinus lividipennis, feeds on the eggs and nymphs of rice planthoppers and leafhoppers. We previously demonstrated that sublethal concentrations of imidacloprid stimulated the reproduction of C. lividipennis. Considering the essential roles of juvenile hormone (JH) in insect reproduction, we speculated that sublethal concentrations of imidacloprid may stimulate the reproduction of C. lividipennis by regulating JH level. To test this, we cloned C. lividipennis JH acid methyl transferase (ClJHAMT) and JH esterase (ClJHE), which are responsible for JH biosynthesis and degradation genes, respectively. We then knocked down ClJHAMT by injecting dsRNA into C. lividipennis nymphs and found that emerging female adults exhibited 88.8% lower expression of the vitellogenin gene (ClVg) and the number of eggs was reduced by 41.5% as compared with controls. Silencing ClJHE increased ClVg mRNA expression by 275.0% but did not affect fecundity. A sublethal concentration of imidacloprid (LC 20 ) increased the JH titer in females by 35.3% and 60.6% at 24 and 48 h post-emergence, respectively. In treatments containing both imidacloprid and dsJHAMT, the silencing of CLJHAMT reduced the number of eggs produced by adult females by 21.4% as compared to the control (imidacloprid + dsGFP). Our results indicated that sublethal concentration of imidacloprid may induce C. lividipennis reproduction by upregulating JH level via JHAMT. The finding could provide valuable information for improved integration of C. lividipennis and insecticides in pest management.
