The fall webworm (FWW) Hyphantria cunea, native to North America, is a globally invasive pest of a wide range of forest and fruit trees. Spraying of pesticides is the primary method for the control of FWW. In this study, toxicity and feeding cessation of two potential pesticides against the FWW, chlorantraniliprole, and chromafenozide, were evaluated. Both pesticides were slow to affect FWW. For chlorantraniliprole, the highest mortality of third instar larvae occurred at 72 h with an LC 50 of 10.34 mg/L, while for chromafenozide, the highest mortality occurred at 72 h with an LC 50 value 74.0950 mg/L. Low concentrations of both pesticides led to larvae ceasing to feed after six hours (chlorantraniliprole) and 24 h (chromafenozide). Both pesticides had persistent effects; thirty days after being applied at concentrations of 16, 26.67, and 35.56 mg/L to leaves, 93.33% of newly contacted larvae died after seven days. Our study showed that chlorantraniliprole and chromafenozide could be alternatively used against FWW and form a component of integrated control programs. The results provide information to guide the usage of chlorantraniliprole and chromafenozide in FWW control.

<P>The morphology and infraciliature of two stichotrichid ciliates, Gastrostyla pulchra(Perejaslawzewa 1886) Kahl, 1932 and Hemigastrostyla enigmatica(Dragesco and Dragesco-Kernéis 1986) Song & Wilbert, 1997, collected from marine and brackish sediments, were investigated by using living observations and protargol impregnations. Both 18S and 28S rRNA genes of these two species were sequenced. The 18S rDNA show high similarities (98.4%-99.7%) among populations of each species. There is about 94% similarity in 18S rDNA genes between G. pulchra and Gastrostyla steinii, the type species of the genus, which has been confirmed to be an oxytrichid by previous studies. In the phylogenetic trees of 18S, 28S, and combined 18S and 28S rDNA, both G. pulchra and H. enigmatica are consistently placed outside the well-established oxytrichid clade. Based on our analyses and previous ontogenetic data, we conclude that these two species may represent some lower groups in the subclass Stichotrichia, and that G. pulchra should represent a new genus, Protogastrostyla n. g. This new genus, which is morphologically similar to Gastrostyla, differs in its morphogenesis: the apical part of the old AZM is retained combining with the newly built membranelles that develop from the proter's oral primordium; the primary primordia of the dorsal kinety; and marginal primordia commence de novo without a definite contribution from the old structure.</P>
Morphological Descriptions of New and Little-Known Benthic Ciliates from Ganghwa Tidal Flat, Korea

<P>Ciliates are highly diverse in the benthos where there are rare species to be unrevealed and described. By isolating species during successive and diversified cultivations, we discovered several new and interesting taxa from the top layer sediment of a muddy site in the Ganghwa tidal flat. These include three new species Spirodysteria ganghwaensis n. sp., Uronemella parafilificum n. sp., Zosterodasys minuta n. sp., and one poorly known form Loxophyllum chaetonotumBorror 1965. The morphology of live cells and infraciliature of these four species are described based on living observations, protargol impregnations, and morphometrics. Diagnoses and improved definitions are also provided. The newly established genus Spirodysteria n. g. differs from Dysteria mainly in its spirally twisted body shape. Spirodysteria kahli (Tucolesco 1962) n. comb. (formerly Dysteria kahliTucolesco 1962) has been included in this new genus.</P>

In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), surgical resection or local ablation therapy is limited because of severe liver dysfunction or tumor location. Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) has beed used widely as palliative treatment. Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) is a more recent and effective treatment for early stage HCC. We report a case with small HCC with complete response by TACE combined with SBRT. (J Liver Cancer 2018;18:157-161)
한국 지역별 사회간접자본(SOC) 순자본스톡 추계 재고찰

본 연구에서는 『1997 국부통계조사보고서』의 SOC순자본스톡을 기준년스톡으로 설정하고 『건설업조사보고서』의 SOC 공공부문 기성액을 접속시켜 1997~2012년간의 지역별 SOC순자본스톡을 추계하였다. 추계지역은 서울, 부산, 대구, 인천, 광주, 대전, 울산, 경기, 강원, 충북, 충남, 전북, 전남, 경북, 경남, 제주 등 16개 광역시ㆍ도이고 추계시설은 도로, 철도, 항만, 공항, 수리치수, 상하수도, 전기ㆍ가스 등 7개 시설이다. 추계결과, 1997~2012년간 전체 SOC순자본스톡의 증가배율은 1.69배, 연평균증가율은 3.57%였으며, 항만(6.53배, 13.32%), 상하수도(3.30배, 8.28%), 철도(3.23배, 8.13%), 공항(3.05배, 7.72%), 도로(1.62배, 3.25%), 수리치수(1.22배, 1.31%), 전기ㆍ가스(1.14배, 0.87%) 순이었다. 취업자 1인당 SOC순자본스톡과 GRDP 대비 SOC순자본스톡은 도(道)가 특별시ㆍ광역시보다 높았으며, 이는 도(道)가 특별시ㆍ광역시 보다 생산요소(노동, 자본) 밀도가 낮기 때문으로 보인다. 취업자 1인당 SOC순자본스톡 연평균증가율과 GRDP 대비 SOC순자본스톡 연평균증가율이 모두 전국 평균치를 상회한 부산, 인천, 울산, 강원, 전북, 전남은 SOC투자가 활발하였으나, 두 연평균증가율이 모두 전국 평균치를 하회한 서울, 광주, 대전, 경기, 경남, 제주는 상대적으로 저조하였던 것으로 판단된다. 한편, 1997~2007년간의 SOC순자본스톡 추계치를 선행연구 추계치와 비교하였을 때, 많은 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 향후 본 연구의 SOC스톡 추계치를 바탕으로 사회간접자본의 최적규모를 새롭게 설정하고 사회간접자본 규모의 적정여부를 재평가할 필요가 있을 것으로 사료된다. This study estimates regional Net SOC(Social Overhead Capital) stocks by benchmark year method. The value of SOC public construction completed from “Report on the Construction Survey” is used as the investment time series data. The regional Net SOC stocks from “1997 National Wealth Survey” are used as the basic stocks. Net SOC stocks are estimated in 16 metropolitan and provinces of South Korea from 1997 to 2012. SOC in this study includes seven facilities(road, railway, harbor, airport, control of river and dam, water and sewage, electricity and gas). Estimated results, whole Net SOC public stocks are increased 1.69 times on the period from 1997 to 2012. The harbor(6.53 times) records the highest of them and next facilities are water and sewage(3.30 times), railways(3.23 times), airports(3.05 times), roads(1.62 times), control of river and dams(1.22 times), electricity and gas(1.14 times) in the order. On the whole, provinces were higher than metropolitan in average annual growth rate. Inchon and Busan show the highest increase rate by way of exception. Especially, Seoul did not reach even half of the average annual growth rate.
