        Background: Adenosine interacts with A1 receptors present on the extracellular surface of cardiac cells, activating K+channels in a fashion. It produces coronary vasodilatation and AV nodal block. The half-time is one to six second and has ultra-short action. In ischemic heart disease, fractional flow reserve(FFR) can be achieved safely with intravenous adenosine infusions at a rate of 150㎍/kg/min which cause maximal coronary hyperemia. Purpose: We investigated the patients who have had ischemic heart disease(n=8). After adenosine intravenous administration(150㎍/kg/min), the effect cause maximal hyperemia of coronary artery. During peak maximal hyperemia, we reported clinical findings, coronary hemodynamics and electrocardiogram findings. Methods: After diagnostic coronary angiography and left ventriculography, catheter was advanced into the ostium of coronary artery. We investigated coronary hemodynamics such as systolic coronary artery pressure, diastolic coronary artery pressure, mean coronary artery pressure and heart rate. To assess the use of adenosine for determination of fractional flow reserve, hemodynamics and electrocardiogram were measured at basal state and during peak maximal hyperemia. Results: Symptoms developed 1.5-2 minute after adenosine intravenous administration and each symptom disappeared 2-2.5 minute after adenosine administration. Two patients represented asymptomatic appearance and six patients complained of flushing, chest pain, palpitation and headache. In eight patients with ischemic heart disease, 1.5 minute after venous administration of 150㎍/kg/min of adenosine, coronary artery pressure decreased and heart rate increased significantly. Conduction abnormalities after administration of 150㎍/kg/min of adenosine were transient 2nd degree AV block 2 cases(25%). Conclusions: Adenosine is a potent ultra short-acting vasodilator. Although coronary artery pressure decreased and heart rate increased and mild cardiovascular symptoms occurred after continuous infusion of 150㎍/kg/min of adenosine, it is useful as an agent for determination of fractional flow reserve.

      • Cutting performance of tungsten carbide tools coated with diamond thin films after etching for various times

        <P>In this study, diamond thin films were deposited on tungsten carbide tools using surface-wave plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (SWP-CVD). To eliminate the adverse effects of cobalt on the diamond deposition process, the cobalt was removed from the surface of the tools by etching with Murakami’s reagent for various times (30, 60, and 120 min). The cutting performance of the untreated and the diamond-coated WC tools was examined by performing cutting test on carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP). The results showed that all the diamond-coated tools exhibited great improvement on the durability and wear resistance compared to the uncoated one. In addition, the diamond-coated tool lift time is found to be proportional to the etching time. An increase more than twofold has been achieved when the etch time was increased from 30 min to 120 min.</P>

        The relationship between aerobic capacity and the recruitment of activated sweat gland density with passive heating

        This study investigated whether the recruitment of activated sweat gland density during passive heating [immersion of the lower body into hot water, 41℃ for 30 min (PH), room temperature 23 ± 0.5℃ with 60 ± 3% relative humidity] is different in endurance-trained (Trainee), compared with that of untrained subjects (Control), as indicated by VO2max. Eight trainees and seven control female subjects (38.31 ± 4.91 ml·kg-1·min-1 and 31.8 ± 0.92 ml·kg-1·min-1, respectively, p < 0.01) were similar on all other physical characteristics. To compare the changes between the trainees and controls, serum cortisol and prolactin (PRL), tympanic temperature (TYMP), local activated sweat gland density (L-ASGD) and the mean whole body sweat loss volume (M-WBSLV) changes were measured after PH. The cortisol was significantly higher (p < 0.05) and the PRL tended to be higher in the Trainee than in the Control. The TYMP increased more in the Trainee than in the Control (p < 0.001). The L-ASGD showed a higher tendency in the Trainee than in the Control, there was a significant difference in the mean activated sweat gland density (p < 0.01) and the L-ASGD was significantly correlated with the VO2max (p < 0.001). The M-WBSLV was significantly higher in the Trainee (p < 0.001) and significantly correlated with the VO2max (p < 0.001). The results suggest that in humans, a high aerobic capacity is associated with a greater recruitment of activated sweat glands, whole body loss of volume and TYMP. Therefore, the decline in the heat loss responses, due to decrease in maximal oxygen consumption, may be masked by repeated endurance exercise training.

      • 역해석법에 의한 침하 및 압밀도 분석

        This study is the analysis for settlement and degree of consolidation with Compression Index(Cc) and Coefficient of Consolidation(Cv) that is changed due to Consolidation using the actual measurement through a back-analysis method based on the least squares method. We were try to decide the expected settlement and the time of filling removal by using the degree of consolidation which is the closest to the settlement behavior by actual measurement. At the ground improvement construction site proposed for Gwangyang container Port, we meet good results as follows; With regard to the settlement by actual measurement before the completion of loading filling, it is estimated that Barron's method(Sr/Sm=100.4%) is closer to the settlement by actual measurement than Hansbo method (Sr/Sm=78.8%), due to external influences such as immediate settlement or equipment load. After the completion of loading filling, while Asaoka's method (Sr/Sm=109.1%) and Barron's method(Sr/Sm=112.8%) were overvalued, Hyperbolic method(Sr/Sm=70.0%) was undervalued, and Hansbo method(97.6%) showed the most similar results to the settlement by actual measurement. The results of this study showed that, in applying the consolidation parameter obtained by means of back-analysis, Barron's method was the most appropriate before the completion of loading filling, while after it Hansbo's method was, with 99.4% of the settlement by actual measurement.

        In this paper, a biped robot is designed and implemented, and walking tests are performed using a stable walking model. In order to embody the human joint structure, designed biped robot has two degree of freedom attached to the pelvic area of each leg. Using two motors for each ankle makes it possible to have the same degree of freedom as human ankle. This paper show that fuzzy control algorithm is suitable for each joint control.

        Base on the subsurface exploration(contain physical & mechanical test) performed at each boring hole, we try to analyze the change of soil property after improvement ground. At this study, we try to find out relationship physical and mechanical characters at the agricultural center of Jangyu. We obtained relationship as follows; 1) water content and soil constant e=2.71×ω_(n)/100, γ_(t)=2.71(1+ω_(n)/100)γ_(w)/(1+2.71×ω_(n)/100) before improvement: WL=0.486 ω_(n)+26.88, PI=0.38 ω_(n)+6.08 after improvement: WL=0.781 ω_(n)+29.80, PI=0.45 ω_(n)+16.71 2) shear strength before improvement: C_(ub)=0.036 Z+0.09(UU, q_(u)), C_(ub)=0.007 Z+0.14(Vane) after improvement: C_(ua)=0.033 Z+0.49(UU, q_(u)), C_(ua)=0.015 Z+0.40(Vane) 3) Compression index C_(c)=0.013 (ω_(n)+5), C_(c)=0.53 (e_(o)) 4) OCR was increased to 2.3 from 1.2; C_(u)/ΔP=0.21

        In this paper, design and construction of mobile robot is conducted and the error reduction and obstacle avoidance techniques is introduced. Up to now, in the design of most mobile robots, there are emphasis on the compensation of tracking errors using the additional sensors and guidance method, rather than the reduction of the tracking errors of motor itself and wheel errors. In this purpose, high performance motor and encoder are used for the driving actuator, and the acceleration/deceleration technic is introduced to reduce the driving errors. Also ultrasonic sensor performs obstacle avoidance, which is proved using the driving test.

      • 홍삼 첨가가 전통 막걸리의 품질 특성과 생리기능성에 미치는 영향

        고부가가치를 가진 전통 막걸리를 개발하기 위하여 홍삼의 첨가가 막걸리의 품질과 생리기능성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 먼저 찐쌀 덧밥에 시판효모인 Fermivin을 0.5%, 시판입국을 g당 35당화력(sp)으로 혼합하여 술덧을 제조한 후 0.1% 홍삼분말을 첨가하여 25에서 10일간 발효시킨 홍삼막걸리를 제조하였다. 홍삼막걸리의 에탄올함량은 9.3% 이었고 기호도도 우수하였다. 또한 홍삼막걸리의 항고혈압활성 안지오텐신전환효소(ACE) 저해활성이 72.5%로 매우 높았으나 항산화 활성은 15.5%로 낮았다. The goal of this study was to develop a highly valuable Makgeolli containing various bioactive compounds with good acceptability. The effect of red ginseng on the quality and physiological functionality of Makgeolli were investigated. Red ginseng Makgeolli (Rg makgeolli) prepared by addition of 0.1% red ginseng powder into the rice mash containing 0.5% Fermivin(commercial alcohol fermentation yeast) and ipguk(36 saccharogenic power per g) showed 9.3% of ethanol content and high acceptability even though it’s ethanol content was 3.4% lower than that of makgeolli without red ginseng(12.7%). The Rg makgeolli was also showed 72.5% of high antihypertensive angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitory activity and 15.5% of antioxidant activity.

      • 중부지역 옥수수 파종기에 따른 생육단계 및 수량성 변화

        Maize hybrids were planted on April 1, April 25, May 20 and June 15 in 2012, 2013 at the experimental paddy and upland fields in Suwon city , respectively to know changes of growth stage and yield according to different planting time. Maize planting on April 1 was not recommended because total growing days at planting on April 1 was not different with that at planting on April 25 due to many days from planting to emergence over 20 days at planting on April 1. Total growing days were not much different among three planting time after April 25 because days from silking to maturity was lengthened though days from planting to silking was shortened at later planting time. Stalk weight was decreased as planting time was delayed, particularly at planting times after May 20 at paddy field by excess water injury during early growth stage. But, grain yield was not low as in May and June. It is needed to introduce early maturity maize variety as Yanganok at late planting for higher grain yield and enough time for soil preparation for next winter crops

      • 버팀지지대의 선행하중에 따른 흙막이벽의 거동특성

        Urban excavation require highly reliable prediction technique for the design and construction of earth retaining structures in order to protect adjacent structures around deep excavation. Application of the pre-loading of bracing for deep excavation has been reported and known beneficial in reducing settlement behind the retaining wall. But this beneficial effects are net fully understood and recognized by many practitioners. Model tests have been carried out to evaluate the efficiency of pre-loading system in reducing ground settlement as well as adjacent structural damages around excavation in sand. The test results revealed that the applied pre-loading of approximately 50% showed effective reduction in the maximum lateral wall displacement and the maximum magnitude of ground surface settlements, Also, bracing forces and earth-pressure distribution behind the wal1 have been monitored during pre-loading at various excavation swages.
