Dimension Reduction of Speech Emotion Feature Based on Weighted Linear Discriminant Analysis

Feature dimension reduction is important for speech emotion recognition. The classical linear discriminant analysis has been used widely in this field, but the best projection separating class from others can’t be obtained with the linear discriminant analysis method due to outlier class. To approach this problem, a novel distance weighted function based on the linear discriminant analysis is introduced, which can improve the separability of sample data and has low computational complexity. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm’s performance, some experiments are performed on two speech databases: UCI and CASIA. Experimental results on the UCI database demonstrate that the presented algorithm has a better performance. Experimental results on CASIA show that the proposed algorithm yields an average accuracy of 88.78% in the classification of four emotions, revealing that it is a better choice as feature dimension reduction for emotion classification than the traditional algorithms.

In this work, ytterbium (Yb) doped Bi₂WO<SUB>6</SUB> composite (Yb/ Bi₂WO<SUB>6</SUB>) was prepared using a one-step hydrothermal method. The investigation focused on the photocatalytic degradation effect of Yb/Bi₂WO<SUB>6</SUB> on ofloxacin in water, with experimental conditions carefully controlled. The results revealed that under various conditions, Yb/Bi₂WO<SUB>6</SUB> exhibited excellent photocatalytic degradation performance for ofloxacin, achieving a degradation rate of 98.74% within 180 min and 93.27% after 4 cycles. These findings demonstrated that Yb/Bi₂WO<SUB>6</SUB> possessed good photocatalytic performance and cycling stability. The characterization results highlighted that the doping of Yb altered the morphology of Bi₂WO<SUB>6</SUB>, narrowed the band gap, reduced photogenerated electron-hole recombination, and enhanced the photocatalytic performance of Yb/Bi₂WO<SUB>6</SUB>. The free radical quenching experiments showed that superoxide radicals (・O₂<SUP>-</SUP>) played a crucial role in the photocatalytic degradation of ofloxacin by Yb/Bi₂WO<SUB>6</SUB>. Overall, this work provides new insights and theoretical support for the photocatalytic degradation of antibiotics using modified bismuth-based materials doped with rare earth elements.
Parameter Identification of 3R-C Equivalent Circuit Model Based on Full Life Cycle Database

The energy density, power density and ohm resistance of battery change significantly as results of battery aging, which lead to decrease in the accuracy of the equivalent model. A parameter identification method of the equivale6nt circuit model with 3 R-C branches based on the test database of battery life cycle is proposed in this paper. This database is built on the basis of experiments such as updating of available capacity, charging and discharging tests at different rates and relaxation characteristics tests. It can realize regular update and calibration of key parameters like SOH, so as to ensure the reliability of parameters identified. Taking SOH, SOC and T as independent variables, lookup table method is adopted to set initial value for the parameter matrix. Meanwhile, in order to ensure the validity of the model, the least square method based on variable forgetting factor is adopted for optimizing to complete the identification of equivalent model parameters. By comparing the simulation data with measured data for charging and discharging experiments of Li-ion battery, the effectiveness of the full life cycle database and the model are verified.

Polylactic acid (PLA) surgical suture is considered to be one of the most ideal materials for tissue closure due to its rich raw materials and excellent biological properties. However, surgical sutures face great challenges due to problems such as wound infection and tissue reaction in practical applications. In order to improve the clinical applicability of surgical sutures, we constructed a new drug-loading system for core-spun surgical sutures. The shell was composed of nanofibrous membranes composed of polyglycolic acid (PGA) and polycaprolactone (PCL) and ciprofloxacin (CIP) antibacterial drugs, and the core layer adopts PLA filament. By adjusting the composition ratio of PGA and PCL in the shell, a new mode of regulating the release rate and release cycle of the suture was constructed. According to different wound healing time, different drug release cycles of surgical suture were selected. In the study, the structure of the core-spun yarn can be clearly observed by scanning electron microscope, the higher the shell PGA content and drug loading, the faster the drug release rate. When the carrier ratio PGA/PCL was 80/20 and the drug loading was 3%, the drug release rate was the fastest and the drug release was high; finally, antibacterial experiments showed that the suture had excellent antibacterial effect and could effectively kill Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The successful preparation of core-spun yarn surgical suture provides a new idea for the study of new antibacterial surgical suture.

Effects of V2O5 on sinterability and microwave dielectric properties of NaCa4V5O17 ceramics

The NaCa4V5O17 ceramics owing low sintering temperature had been prepared via conventional solid state reaction methodusing V2O5 as vanadium source. The sinterability, microwave dielectric characterisations and compatibility with Ag wereinvestigated. Pure phase NaCa4V5O17 with triclinic structure was confirmed by Rietveld refinement and Raman spectrum. Thepermittivity (εr) and quality factor (Qxf) values mainly depended on the relative density, whereas the temperature coefficientof resonant frequency (τf) value was closely connected with the tetrahedral distortion of V(1)O4. The NaCa4V5O17 ceramicssintered at 800 oС owned high densification and moderate microwave dielectric performances under 10.7 GHz: εr = 9.5, Q×f= 34,200 GHz, τf = -90.0 ppm/oС, but poor chemical compatibility with Ag paste.

Purpose: The roles and mechanisms of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in T helper 2 (Th2) differentiation from allergic asthma are poorly understood. We aimed to explore a novel lncRNA, LincR-protein phosphatase 2 regulatory subunit B' gamma (PPP2R5C), in Th2 differentiation in a mouse model of asthma. Methods: LincR-PPP2R5C from RNA-seq data of CD4+ T cells of asthma-like mice were validated and confirmed by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, northern blotting, nuclear and cytoplasmic separation, and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). Lentiviruses encoding LincR-PPP2R5C or shRNA were used to overexpress or silence LincR-PPP2R5C in CD4+ T cells. The interactions between LincR-PPP2R5C and PPP2R5C were explored with western blotting, chromatin isolation by RNA purification assay, and fluorescence resonance energy transfer. An ovalbumin-induced acute asthma model in knockout (KO) mice (LincR-PPP2R5C KO, CD4 conditional LincR-PPP2R5C KO) was established to explore the roles of LincR-PPP2R5C in Th2 differentiation. Results: LncR-PPP2R5C was significantly higher in CD4+ T cells from asthmatic mice ex vivo and Th2 cells in vitro. The lentivirus encoding LincR-PPP2R5C suppressed Th1 differentiation; in contrast, the short hairpin RNA (shRNA) lentivirus decreased LincR-PPP2R5C and Th2 differentiation. Mechanistically, LincR-PPP2R5C deficiency suppressed the phosphatase activity of the protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) holocomplex, resulting in a decline in Th2 differentiation. The formation of an RNA-DNA triplex between LincR-PPP2R5C and the PPP2R5C promoter enhanced PPP2R5C expression and activated PP2A. LincR-PPP2R5C KO and CD4 conditional KO decreased Th2 differentiation, airway hyperresponsiveness and inflammatory responses. Conclusions: LincR-PPP2R5C regulated PPP2R5C expression and PP2A activity by forming an RNA-DNA triplex with the PPP2R5C promoter, leading to Th2 polarization in a mouse model of acute asthma. Our data presented the first definitive evidence of lncRNAs in the regulation of Th2 cells in asthma.
