Chen Jian-Bin,Chen Qi-Zhong,Chen Zhao-Ping,Jiang Zhou-Hua,Huang Zong-Ze,Pan Jia-Qi 대한금속·재료학회 2012 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.18 No.1
Nitrogen absorption in molten metal for stainless steel AISI316 has been investigated by immersion nitrogen blowing through an immersed alumina nozzle with an internal diameter of 3 mm. Based on these experimental data, some kinetic parameters of nitrogen absorption, such as reaction order, rate constant and apparent activation energy of nitrogen absorption reaction, have been obtained. Effect of stirring by immersion nitrogen blowing through an immersed alumina nozzle on nitrogen absorption reaction has been observed. Results show the following: (1) Nitrogen absorption reaction is the −1.5th order reaction. The rate constant N is of the order of 10−5wt%2.5·min −1. Nitrogen absorption reaction for AISI 316 has negative apparent activation energy of −92.40 kJ·mol −1. This indicates that the nitrogen absorption reaction has a complex and multistep reaction mechanism. (2) The rate of nitrogen absorption reaction in molten stainless steel is mixture control by the adsorption of monatomic nitrogen on the surface of molten stainless steel and mass transfer in molten metal. (3) A rate equation of nitrogen absorption reaction has been derived based on a mixed control mechanism by both the -1st order nitrogen absorption reaction and mass transfer in molten metal.
Comparison Study of the Band-gap Structure of a 1D-Photonic Crystal by Using TMM and FDTD Analyses
Jian-Bo Chen,Yan Shen,Wei-Xi Zhou,Yu-Xiang Zheng,Hai-Bin Zhao,Liang-Yao Chen 한국물리학회 2011 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.58 No.42
A variety of numerical methods has been developed to demonstrate the nature of photons propagating in an artificially-composed periodic structure. Differences will be generated by different kinds of numerical approaches. In this work, we carry out two types of numerical calculations, TMM (transfer matrix method) and FDTD (finite different time domain) calculations. In terms of the 1D-photonic crystal structures with two different structures, we illustrate the energy band spectra, and the results show dispersive characteristics for the optical transmission and reflection of the crystal material. Through a discussion of the mechanism, detailed comparison studies are preformed based on the different physical conditions. The results given in the work will help in better understanding the ways in which photons propagate in an artificially-composed periodic structure.

The 3D micro-mold which is fabricated by the femtosecond laser cutting and micro electric resistance slip welding is formed throughthe lamination of multilayer 2D microstructures. By using this technology, the 3D micro-mold with a high depth-width ratio can bemanufactured. In order to improve the laminated precision and joining strength of each layer of 2D microstructure, this researchapplied layer-by-layer micro electric resistance slip welding to weld each layer of 2D microstructure. Firstly, the proper technicalparameters were obtained through the experiments of layer-by-layer micro electric resistance slip welding. Secondly, through thelayer-by-layer micro electric resistance slip welding, multilayer 2D microstructures were weld together and a 3D micro-mold wasformed. Moreover, the anti-shear stress test of 3D micro-mold was done. In the layer-by-layer slip welding process, electrode couldproduce some losses and the losses could deposit on the surface of micro-mold. This research also studied the deposition effect ofthe electrode. Finally, based on the above studies, the micro square-hole array and the micro-gear cavity were fabricated by joiningmultilayer 2D microstructure.

Expression Analysis of miRNAs in Porcine Fetal Skeletal Muscle on Days 65 and 90 of Gestation
Chen, Jian-hai,Wei, Wen-Juan,Xiao, Xiao,Zhu, Meng-Jin,Fan, Bin,Zhao, Shu-Hong Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2008 Animal Bioscience Vol.21 No.7
MiRNAs (microRNAs) are a class of small non-coding RNA molecules of ~21 nucleotides that down- regulate the expression of target genes at post-transcriptional level. In this study, we first accomplished a preliminary scan of miRNA expression using 65 and 90 day fetal pig skeletal muscle samples by microarray hybridization, and 34 miRNAs showed strong positive signals. Five of these miRNAs were selected for further investigation by real-time RT-PCR. The statistical analyses indicated that three miRNAs exhibited significant differential expression (p<0.05) during porcine muscle development from 65 to 90 days of gestation, e.g., miR-24 and miR-424 were down-regulated while miR-133a was up-regulated. Multi-tissue RT-PCR was performed to detect the expression patterns of the five miRNA precursors. The results showed that most of these precursor miRNAs were ubiquitously expressed in different porcine tissues.

Chen, Wei-Qiang,Xu, Bin,Mao, Jian-Wen,Wei, Feng-Xiang,Li, Ming,Liu, Tao,Jin, Xiao-Bao,Zhang, Li-Rong Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.7
Background: Pine needle oil from crude extract of pine needles has anti-tumor effects, but the effective component is not known. Methods: In the present study, compounds from a steam distillation extract of pine needles were isolated and characterized. Alpha-pinene was identified as an active anti-proliferative compound on hepatoma carcinoma BEL-7402 cells using the MTT assay. Results: Further experiments showed that ${\alpha}$-pinene inhibited BEL-7402 cells by arresting cell growth in the G2/M phase of the cell cycle, downregulating Cdc25C mRNA and protein expression, and reducing cycle dependence on kinase 1(CDK1) activity. Conclusion: Taken together, these findings indicate that ${\alpha}$-pinene may be useful as a potential anti-tumor drug.

As composite materials are used in many applications, the modern world looks forward to significant progress. An overview of the application of composite fiber materials in sports equipment is provided in this article, focusing primarily on the advantages of these materials when applied to sports equipment, as well as an Analysis of the influence of sports equipment of fiber-reinforced composite material on social sports development. The present study investigated surface morphology and physical and mechanical properties of S-glass fiber epoxy composites containing Al2O3 nanofillers (for example, 1 wt%, 2 wt%, 3 wt%, 4 wt%). A mechanical stirrer and ultrasonication combined the Al2O3 nanofiller with the matrix in varying amounts. A compression molding method was used to produce sheet composites. A first physical observation is well done, which confirms that nanoparticles are deposited on the fiber, and adhesive bonds are formed. Al2O3 nanofiller crystalline structure was investigated by X-ray diffraction, and its surface morphology was examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM). In the experimental test, nanofiller content was added at a rate of 1, 2, and 3% by weight, which caused a gradual decrease in void fraction by 2.851, 2.533, and 1.724%, respectively, an increase from 2.7%. The atomic bonding mechanism shows molecular bonding between nanoparticles and fibers. At temperatures between 60 ℃ and 380 ℃, Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) analysis shows that NPs deposition improves the thermal properties of the fibers and causes negligible weight reduction (percentage). Thermal stability of the composites was therefore presented up to 380 ℃. The Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) spectrum confirms that nanoparticles have been deposited successfully on the fiber.

OmpA signal peptide mediated cgt gene from Paenibacillus macerans JFB05-01 was cloned and expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3). The effects of glycine and Triton X-100 on extracellular production of α-cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase (α-CGTase) were investigated. When supplemented with Gly or Triton X-100 to the culture media individually, the secreted extracellular enzyme reached 32or 33 U/mL at 48 h of cultivation, respectively. When supplemented with Gly and Triton X-100 together, the extracellular α-CGTase activity reached 48 U/mL after 48 h cultivation, which was 20-fold of the control group without any additives. Analysis of membrane permeability demonstrated that addition of glycine and Triton X-100enhanced the permeability of both outer and inner membrane. The potential mechanism of the enhanced protein secretion was discussed.
