회분식 활성슬러지 반응기에 의한 염분폐수의 생분해성 평가

생물학적 처리가 가능한 염분 농도의 범위를 알아보기 위하여 회분식 활성슬러지 반응기에 합성폐수를 주입하여 실험을 수행하였다. 연구결과 폐수중의 염분 농도가 20,000mg/L 이상이 되면 폐수처리 효율이 떨어지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 염분 농도가 10,000mg/L 이하 일때는 회분식 활성슬러지 반응기에 의한 TOC 제거효율이 85% 이상인 반면, 염분 농도가 20,000mg/L 이상일 때는 TOC 제거효율이 80% 이하를 나타내었다. 또한 생물반응조내의 MLSS 농도에 따라 질산화 정도가 다름을 알 수 있었다. To determine the salt concentration range which wastewaters be treated by biological processes, experiments were performed by feeding activated sludge batch reactor with synthetic organic wastewater. Results of the research showed that wastewater treatment efficiencies deteriorated as salt concentration of wastewaters became above 20,000mg/L. The TOC removal efficiencies of activated sludge batch reactor were above 85% when the salt concentration were below 10,000mg/L. On the other hand, when the salt concentration were above 20,000mg/L, the TOC removal efficiencies were below 80%. It was also found that nitrification was affected by the MLSS concentration in the reactors.

Truetype 글꼴은 외곽선정보를 벡터 데이터 형태로 가지고 있기 때문에 사용자의 수정이 매우 용이한 글꼴이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 truetype 글꼴의 특성을 이용하여 글꼴의 외곽선 정보를 알아낸 후 외곽선을 다양한 패턴으로 분할하는 방법을 제시하려 한다. 직선에서는 Brensenham 알고리즘을 이용한 패턴 분할을 행하였고, 곡선에서는 Casteljar 알고리즘을 바탕으로 선형보간법을 이용한 재귀호출 방법을 사용하여 패턴 분할을 행하였다. 이러한 임의 패턴 분할을 이용해서 다양한 길이를 가진 형태의 패턴을 생성함으로써, 글꼴의 외곽선에 다양한 효과를 줄 수 있다.
Comparative analysis of chloroplast genomes and 45S nuclear ribosomal DNAs within 9 perilla species

Perilla is a annual herb plant of the mint family, Laminaceae and mainly cultivated in eastern Asia, i.e. Korea, China and Japan. In response to an increased interest for healthy supplement food from the public, people are focusing on the properties of perilla. The applicable parts of perilla plants are the leaves and seeds. Perilla has been cultivated as a source of unsaturated fatty acid oil. But in spite of advantage of the important nutritional traits the genome or molecular studies on perilla remains largely unknown. Sequence comparisons of chloroplast (cp) genomes or nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) are of great important to provide a evidence for taxonomic studies or species identification or understanding mechanisms that underlie the evolution of perilla species. So, we tried to study a structural analysis of perilla genome and 45s nrDNA using 9 species (3 Diploid; Perilla B-17, P. hirtella, P. setoyensis / 6 Tetraploid; YCPL 285, YCPL 170, YCPL 205-1, YCPL 181-1, YCPL 177-1, YCPL 207-1). The complete cp genome and nrDNA of 9 perilla species were determined using Illumina sequencing technology and analyzed on the variance in base level between perilla B-17 and salvia miltiorrhiza. Total chloroplast genome size of perilla B-17 as a reference was 152,589 bp in length. We also identified an slightly overlapped intergenic regions between salvia miltiorrhiza and B-17. The results above will contribute to growing of molecular or genome structure and functional genomics of perilla available in studying perilla biology. For further study, we will look for genetic diversity of perilla species.

리튬이온 이차전지의 고용량화를 위해 high-Ni계 양극 활물질이 크게 주목받고 있으나, Ni 함량이 높아짐에 따라 고온 안정성이 감소하여 수명저하가 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 $LiNi_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}O_2$ (NCM622)의 합성공정 중에서 전구체인 전이금속 수산화물과 리튬염의 열처리 과정에 알루미나 입자를 첨가함으로써 추가적인 표면처리 공정없이 활물질 특성을 개선시키고자 하였다. 알루미나를 첨가하게 되면 고온 사이클 수명이 개선되었으며, 특히 나노크기의 알루미나를 사용하는 경우에 초기용량의 감소도 적고 수명도 개선됨을 확인하였다. 그리고, 나노 알루미나를 함량별로 추가한 결과로 표면형상이 점차 변화함과 동시에 격자상수의 감소가 발생하는 것이 관찰되어 표면코팅과 구조 내 치환이 동시에 발생하고 있음을 확인하였다. LSTA (linear-sweep thermmametry)를 사용하여 알루미나의 함량이 증가할 수록 부반응이 감소하며 고온 안정성이 증가하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 전이금속 대비 Al을 2.5 mol% 추가하는 경우에 가장 우수한 고온 사이클 성능이 나타나는 것을 확인하였다. High Ni content layered oxide materials for the positive electrode in lithium-ion batteries have high specific capacity. However, their poor electrochemical and thermal stability at elevated temperature restrict the practical use. A small amount of $Al_2O_3$ was added to the mixture of transition metal hydroxide and lithium hydroxide. The $LiNi_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}O_2$ was simultaneously doped and coated with $Al_2O_3$ during heat-treatment. Electrochemical characteristics of modified $LiNi_{0.6}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.2}O_2$ were evaluated by the galvanostatic cycling and the LSTA(linear sweep thermmametry) at the constant voltage conditions. The nano-sized $Al_2O_3$ added materials show better cycle performance at elevated temperature than that of micro-sized $Al_2O_3$. As the added amount of nano-$Al_2O_3$ increased, the thermal stability of electrode also enhanced, but the use of 2.5 mol% Al showed the best high temperature performance.

<P>Serum amyloid A is a proinflammatory molecule that induces leukocyte infiltration and promotes neutrophil adhesion to endothelial cells under inflammatory conditions. The aim of this study was to examine whether Saa1 aggravates T cell-mediated hepatitis by inducing chemokines in a liver-specific, Saa1-overexpressing, transgenic (TG) mouse model. We generated TG mice in which Saa1 was overexpressed specifically in liver tissue. The chemokines monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (MCP1), MIP1α, MIP1β, interferon γ-induced protein 10 (IP-10), and eotaxin were induced in Saa1 TG mice. After concanavalin A treatment, Saa1 expression was higher in Saa1 TG mice than in WT mice. More severe liver injury, increased hepatocyte apoptosis, and higher levels of hepatic enzymes were observed in Saa1 TG mice than in WT mice. Liver infiltration of CD4<SUP>+</SUP> T cells and macrophages increased after inducing hepatitis. Activation of T cells was higher in Saa1 TG mice than in WT mice, and the populations of Th17 cells and regulatory T cells were altered by overexpressing Saa1 in TG mice. Secretion of various cytokines, such as interferon γ, tumor necrosis factor α, and interleukin 6, increased in Saa1 TG mice. Injecting a Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) antagonist <I>in vivo</I> inhibited chemokine expression and IκBα phosphorylation and showed that the induction of chemokines by Saa1 was dependent on TLR2. Hepatic Saa1 accelerated T cell-mediated hepatitis by inducing chemokine production and activating T cells by TLR2. Therefore, Saa1 might be a novel inflammatory factor that acts as a chemokine modulator in hepatitis.</P>

Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) has been implicated in the regulation of inflammatory events. The aim of this study was to investigate whether celecoxib could inhibit the cultured leiomyoma cell growing induced by PGE2 Leiomyoma cells (LC) were obtained from hysterectomized patients (n=5) without prior hormonal treatment for at least 3 months. NF-κB, COX-2 and ERK expressions were detected by Western blotting. Quantitative RT-PCR was used for measuring IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α, PDGF, EGF, TGF-β, collagen-A and fibronectin. Immnofluorescent staining was used for PDGF expression comparison. Treatment of LC with PG E2 (10 uM) increased cell survival. Celecoxib decreased the cell survival induced by PG E2 stimulation. Cytokines (IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α) and growth factors (PDGF, EGF and TGF-β) were decreased in LC by PGE2. This study imply that inflammation mechanisms are involved in the leiomyoma growth. Celecoxib may prevent the leiomyoma growing through blocking the production of growth factors and cytokines.
