Characterization of the Residues of ${\alpha}$X I-Domain and ICAM-1 Mediating Their Interactions

Integrin ${\alpha}X{\beta}2$ performs a significant role in leukocyte functions including phagocytosis and migration, and binds to a variety of ligands, including fibrinogen, iC3b, and ICAM-1. A particular domain of the ${\alpha}$ subunit of the integrin - the ${\alpha}X$ I-domain - is a ligand binding site, and the interaction of the ${\alpha}X$ I-domain and ICAM-1 on the endothelium is an important step in leukocyte extravasation. In order to elucidate the structural aspects of this interaction, we defined the moieties of the ${\alpha}X$ and ICAM-1 relevant to their interaction in this study. It was determined that the ICAM-1 binding sites of the ${\alpha}X$ I-domain were located in the ${\alpha}3{\alpha}4$, ${\beta}D{\alpha}5$, and ${\beta}F{\alpha}7$ loops at the top surface of the I-domain. The residues $Q^{202}$, $K^{242}$, $K^{243}$, $E^{298}$ and $D^{299}$ on these loops were crucial for the recognition of ICAM-1. Among these residues, $K^{242}$ and $K^{243}$ on the ${\beta}D{\alpha}5$ loop were found to be the most salient, thereby suggesting an ionic interaction between these proteins. Domain 3 of ICAM-1 was identified as a primary binding site for the ${\alpha}X$ I-domain. Two regions of domain 3 ($D^{229}$QRLNPTV and $E^{254}$DEGTQRL) perform critical functions in the binding of the ${\alpha}X$ I-domain. Especially, the residue $E^{254}$DEG, is most important with regard to the ${\alpha}X$ I-domain.

최근 봄철 기온이 높아짐에 따라 마늘 뿌리응애 피해가 늘어나고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 뿌리응애 피해를 최소하 하고자 발생양상과 22종의 약제에 대하여 살비효과를 조사하였다. 마늘 재배시기 중 뿌리응애의 발생은 충북 보은 등 5지역에서 2015년부터 2017년까지 3년간 3월부터 6월까지 뿌리응애 발생밀도를 조사하여 발생양상을 확인하였다. 뿌리응애는 2016년에 가장 많이 발생하였으며, 발생시기는 월동 후 3월 상순부터 발생하여 6월 중순경까지 지속적으로 밀도가 높아지는 양상을 나타내었다. 조사된 5지역 중 가장 높은 밀도로 조사된 보은지역은 6월 상순경 주당 13.3마리가 발생하였다. 뿌리응애에 대하여 우수한 살비효과를 나타낸 약제는 분무처리시 약제처리 10일 후에서 dimethoate, azocyclotin, abamectin, hexythiazox, cabosulfan, spirotetramat, benfuracarb가 90% 이상의 살비효과를 나타내었다

Anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities and skin irritation of piroxicam patch were investigated. Piroxicam patch increased the pain threshold in rat hind paw inflamed by carrageenan and inhibited writhing induced by acetic acid in mice. Piroxicam patch also inhibited the carrageenan-induced edema in rat hind paw as well as the increased vascular permeability induced by histamine in rats. In adjuvant arthritis of rats, piroxicam patch showed anti-inflammatory effects. Skin irritation of piroxicam patch was tested in Newzealand White rabbits and evaluated by Primary Irritation Index of Draize. The results from skin irritation test showed that piroxicam patch seemed practically non-irritating. The result from the present study indicates that piroxicam may be useful without serious side effects as anti-inflammatory analgesics in this patch form.

The microfiber filter continued using filter's efficiency is degraded. The continued use of filters to remove contaminants through a cleaning. In this study a wash trough fluids flow inside the inlet for the efficient mixing of the location were investigated. The inlet and outlet of the Wash trough internal filter change intervals depending on the position of the flow analysis was performed.

The Halcyon, closed-bore and O-ring type linear accelerator, is unable to use the specialized device which can reduce respiratory tumor-motion efect such as a gating system, and the internal target volume (ITV)-based IMRT method should be applied to the treatment of moving tumor target. In this study, the tumor-motion efect on the dosimetric accuracy of the ITV-based IMRT using the Halcyon. ITV-based volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) plans using the Halcyon were prepared for ten cases of liver cancer while changing the number of arcs (1-arc, 3-arc, and 5-arc) in the plan. Delivery quality assurance (DQA) plans were created using the Delta4 Phantom+diode array to verify the dosimetric accuracy of the VMAT plans. DQA measurements were performed in both the static and the Hexa-Motion mode using the Delta4 HexaMotion system to evaluate the motion efect on the dosimetric accuracy. In the static mode, the average gamma pass rate (GPR) value was 99.98% for the 3%/3 mm criterion and 99.02% for the 2%/2 mm criterion, which can verify the sufcient dosimetric accuracy of the VMAT plans in this study. The average GPR values calculated with a 3%/3 mm criterion in the Hexa-Motion mode were 68.25%, 69.17%, and 75.52% for the 1-arc, 3-arc, and 5-arc VMAT plans, respectively. When the 2%/2 mm criterion was used, the average GPR values in the Hexa-Motion mode were 50.76%, 50.33%, and 56.21% for the 1-arc, 3-arc, and 5-arc VMAT plans. These signifcantly lower GPR values show that the dosimetric accuracy in the Halcyon is more afected by tumor motion compared to the conventional linear accelerator. This study verifes that it is advantageous to use a large number of arcs in the ITV-based VMAT plan implemented using the Halcyon to reduce dosimetric error due to tumor motion
SAR 영상에서 웨이블렛 기반 Non-Local Means 필터를 이용한 스펙클 잡음 제거

본 논문에서는 일반 영상의 가우시안 잡음 제거에 유용한 Non-Local Means 필터를 이용하여 웨이블렛 도메인 상에서 SAR 영상의 스펙클 잡음제거 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 먼저 승법 잡음인 스펙클 잡음을 로그를 취해 가법 잡음으로 변환한 후 웨이블렛 분해하고 고주파 혹은 저주파 서브밴드에 따라 Non-Local Means 필터와 웨이블렛 임계값 처리(wavelet thresholding)를 선택적으로 적용하고 지수형태를 취해 원영상으로 복원함으로서 잡음을 제거한다. 또한, Non-Local Means 필터의 단점인 수행시간을 단축시키기 위해 통계적 t-검정을 이용하여 개선하고자 한다. 영상실험을 통한 성능평가 결과 제안된 필터는 정성적인 비교와 PSNR과 DSSIM을 통한 정량적인 비교 모두 기존의 필터보다 우수한 성능을 보였다. 통계적 t-검정을 이용해 개선된 방법은 빠른 계산 속도와 더 나은 성능을 나타냈다. This paper addresses the problem of reducing the speckle noise in SAR images by wavelet transformation, using a non-local means(NLM) filter originated for Gaussian noise removal. Log-transformed SAR image makes multiplicative speckle noise additive. Thus, non-local means filtering and wavelet thresholding are used to reduce the additive noise, followed by an exponential transformation. NLM filter is an image denoising method that replaces each pixel by a weighted average of all the similarly pixels in the image. But the NLM filter takes an acceptable amount of time to perform the process for all possible pairs of pixels. This paper, also proposes an alternative strategy that uses the t-test more efficiently to eliminate pixel pairs that are dissimilar. Extensive simulations showed that the proposed filter outperforms many existing filters terms of quantitative measures such as PSNR and DSSIM as well as qualitative judgments of image quality and the computational time required to restore images.
