      • Characterization of cricket song patterns and the behavior observation of Teleogryllus emma (Orthoptera:Grylloidea)

        We analyzed the chirp sound and behavior of Teleogryllus emma with observation system, which was consisted of computer, ccd-camera and microphone. Computational methods of wavelet transformation and Self-Organizing Maps (SOM) were utilized to characterized the chirp sound of insect species for automatic counting in this study. Wavelets were initially applied to feature extraction of the chirp sound. Wavelet coefficients were accordingly calculated based on the basis function (e.g., Morlet). The obtained coefficients were subsequently provided to count number of chirps in each song. Sound structure of insect specimens consisted with long chirp and short chirp and the patterns of song were grouped by frequency of long chirp and short chirp. The song patterns of insect specimens were divided by Self-Organizing Map (SOM) that was used number of chirp as input data. Application of computational methods to automatic detection of chirp sound was further discussed for obtaining objective assessment in behavior science.

      • 입제의 수면처리에 의한 주요수도해충의 동시방제

        본 시험은 유기인계 살충제인 Terracur P입제 및 Lebaycid 입제와 유기염소계 살충제인 상감마입제$(\gamma-BHC 입제)$를 수면시용 하였을때 수도요해충인 이화명충, 끝 동매미충, 애멸구 및 흰둥멸구에 대한 동시방제가능성과 방제적기를 구명하고 약제간의 방제효과를 비교코저 실시하였다. 얻어진 시험결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 약제처리후 부화직후 이화명충 접종 시험에 있어서 상감마와 Terracur P는 높은 살충율을 보였으나 Lebaycid의 살충율은 낮았다. 約 $50\%$ 살충력 잔효일수에 있어서 상감마는 8-14日이었고 Terracur P는 6일간이었다. 2) 당초 계획된 방제적기에 관한 정보는 얻을 수 없었다. 즉 주어진 일간격이 좁아 유의한 차를 얻을 수 없었다. 3) 1,2화기 이화명충에 대한 방제효과는 Terracur P=상감마>Lebaycid의 순이었다. 4) Terracur P와 Lebaycid 입제의 처리는 끝동매미충의 방제효과가 좋았으나 상감마$(\gamma-BHC 입제)$의 방제효과는 기대할 수 없었다. 끝동매미충에 대한 Terracur P와 Lebaycid입제의 잔효력은 30일 이상이었다. 5) 애멸구와 흰등별구에 대한 시험은 충의 서식밀도가 낮기 때문에 약제간 방제효과를 얻을 수 없었다. 6) 공시약제중 Terracur P와 Lebaycidd입제는 이화명충과 끌동매미충의 동시방제제로서 사용할 수 있을 것 같다. This experiment was conducted to find out the simultaneous control effect of granulated insecticides on the several major rice insect pests in Korea. The granulated insecticides used were Terracur P$5\%$ (one of the phosphoric insecticides), Lebaycid $5\%$, and Sang-gamma (gamma-BHC) $6\%$. Those insecticides were broadcasted by hand on the paddy field at the ratio of 3kg. in June and 4kg. in August per 10 a, and the date of insecticidal application was based on the maximum moth occurrence of the rice stem borer in 1969. The rice insect pests tested in this study were rice stem borer (Chilo suppressalis W.), green rice leafhopper (Nephotettix bipunctatus cincticeps U.), smiller brown planthopper (Laodelphax striatellus F.), and white back planthopper (Sogotella furcifera H.). For the study of residual effectiveness of the insecticides, the rice stem borer larvae just hatched from the eggs were installed on the sheath of rice plants collected from the paddy field after insecticidal treatment, and the mortality was made at 48 hours after installation. High mortality was observed in Terracur P and Sang-gamma treatments and low mortality in Lebaycid treatment. The duration of residual effects giving about 50% mortality was about 14 days in Sang-gamma and about 6 days in Terracur P treatments. The study on the effectiveness of the insecticides to the rice stem borer in the paddy field was made by the number of dead blades and white heads of the rice plants injured by the larvae, and the number of survival larvae in the straws after crop harvest. The order of insecticidal effectiveness to the rice stem borer was Terracur P=Sang-gamm>Lebaycid. The study on the effectiveness of the insecticides to the leafhoppers and planthoppers in the paddy field was made by the population density by sweeping (5 times) at the given day intervals after treatments. Terracur P was highly effective for the control of the green rice leafhoppers and Lebaycid was moderately effective, but Sang-gamma seemed not to be effective. The effectiveness of the insecticides tested to the planthoppers was not clear, and it seemed to related with the low insect population density. Study on the determination of proper timing of insecticidal application was not also made clear, and it seemed to be short in the range of day intervals in the insecticidal application. For the study on the control effects of the rice insect pests, rice yield per 100 hills per plot was observed. There was no statistically significant difference among the treatments in rice yields, but the order of yield (Terracur P>Sang-gamma>Lebaycid>Control) was paralleled with the tends of control effects above mentioned. In a view point of simultaneous control of the rice stem borers and green rice leafhoppers by the application of granulated insecticides, Terracur P and Lebaycid were more effective than Sang-gamma which have been used.

      • Plant Regeneration and Bulblet Formation of Allium wakegi Araki

        Allium wakegi was cultured shoot tip in the condition of light culture. The Allium wakegi added plant growth regulator was observed of plant regeneration and bulblet formation. Callus Induction and growing rate was the best of 78% when added alone 2,4-D 0.5mg/L. In the formation of shoot, its regeneration rate was 96% when added BA 0.5mg/L in the light culture condition. When BA 0.5mg/L and NAA 0.5mg/L mixed and BA 0.5 mg/L and NAA 1.0mg/L mixed, the rates were 99% and 97% respectively, and these conditions were suitable for forming shoot. In the formation of roots, when added NAA 2.0mg/L in the light culture condition, the regeneration rate was 90.6 % and the roots were abnormal. When added NAA 1.0mg/L, the rate was 82 % and the highest. In the formation of bulbs, when BA 05mg/L and NAA 1.0mg/L mixed, the root generantion and its size in the bulbs was the best compare to other treatment experiments.

      • Effect of Temperature Associated with Early Growth Stimulus on Shortening of Heading Dates in Rice

        The heading date is known to be controlled by two kinds of genetic constituent, photosensitivity and basic vegetable phase. For the latter, the effect of temperature in early growth period is critical to determine the shortness of vegetative growth periods in plant s life. A phytotron experiment on 55 rice cultivars, consisting of two ecotypes of rices, indica and japonica, was conducted at high and low temperature treatments at early growth stage to investigate the possible role of plant growth stimulus by high temperature to associate with shortening of heading date. The high temperature during the early growth stage stimulated the rice growth as measured by plant height with much difference of the growth response between indica and japonica. The conclusive finding that these growth stimulus in early growth stage was highly correlated with the acceleration of heading is, more or less, correlated with the heading of the late growth stage although we could not conclude the genes for early plant growth stimulus by high temperature is the same genes as the genes for accelerating of heading in the late growth stage of plants.

      • Genetic Diversity of Korean Rice Breeding Parents as Measured by DNA Fingerprinting with Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) Markers

        Molecular markers are useful tools for evaluating genetic diversity and determining cultivar identity. Present study was conducted to evaluate the genetic diversity within a diverse collection of rice accessions used for Korean breeding programs. Two hundred eighty-seven rice cultivars, composed of temperate japonica, tropical japonica, indica, and Tongil-type of Korean crossing parents were evaluated by means of 15 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. A total of 99 alleles were detected, and the number of alleles per marker ranged from 4 to 11, with an average of 6.6 per locus. Polymorphism information content (PIC) for each of the SSR markers ranged from 0.2924 to 0.8102 with an average of 0.5785. These results, with the result that use of only 15 SSR markers made all rice cultivars examined could be uniquely distinguished, imply the efficiency of SSR markers for analysis of genetic diversity in rice. Cluster analysis was performed on similar coefficient matrics calculated from SSR markers to generate a dendogram in which two major groups corresponding to japonica (Group I) and indica and Tongil type rice (group II) with additional subclasses within both major groups. The narrowness of the Korean breeding germplasm was revealed by the fact that most of the Korean-bred and Japan-bred temperate japonica cultivars were concentrated into only 2 of the sub-group I-1 (143 cultivars) and I-2 (58 cultivars) among six sub-groups in major group of japonica. This is because of the japonica accessions used in this study was a very closely related ones because of frequent sharing of the crossing parents with similar genetic background with synergy effect of the inherited genetic difference between indica and japonica. A rice breeding strategy with the use of molecular markers was discussed for overcoming of genetic vulnerability owing to this genetic narrowness.

        To estimate the essential and nonessential amino acid compositions as added moisture levels in manufacturing fermentation feedstuffs, the three kinds of experimental conditions, T1, T2, T3 were made with rice bran(90kg), leaf mold(10kg) according to added moisture 40kg, 60kg, and 80kg, respectively. In T1 and T2 cases, the contents of threonine, phenylalanine, histidine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, cystine, arginine increased significantly during fermentation, however, in T3 case, the thereonine content increased significantly after 9 hours fermentation but decreased at 12 hours fermentation(P<0.05). In T1 and T3 cases, the contents of valine, leucine and arginine increased significantly after 9 hours fermentation and decreased at 12 hours fermentation(P<0.05). Methionine increased for three hours fermentation and then did not increase in content in the T1 and the T3. In T2 case, methionine level increased gradually for whole fermentation time. In T3 case, phenylalanine, histidine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid and cystine increased significantly after 9 hours fermentation, but decreased at 12 hours fermentation(P<0.05). In T1, T2 and T3, isoleucine, lysine, serine, proline, glycine, alanine and tyrosine increased significantly during fermentation time(P<0.05).

        Automobile alternator noises are composed of mechanical noise, ventilation noise and magnetic noise. The design of magnetic parts, fans, bearing, and the rotor has an effect on these noises. In running automobile alternator, these elements can generate noises and vibrations. To know the noise sources of the various alternator, the characteristics of noises are analyzed as rotating speed is increased. Also, this study analyze the harmonics of the noise for the various alternators. The results of this study can lead the instruction t o the noise reduction on the automobile alternator.

        I initially understood Gyun-ryong-goon as a process of king established in relation to Joon-gang-goon of Two-goon Six-wee. Prior to the establishment of Gyun-ryong-gun, Two-Goon had taken charge of the defense of a royal palace and the royal guards. however, into the process leading to the mi d-Korye Age, Joong-ang-goon of Two-goon Six-wee was put at the crisis of being disbanded due to the lack of resources left for support. After all, the duty of Gyun-ryong-gun can be considered succeeding to an important role of Two-goon by taking its place Against this backdrop. Gyun-ryong-gun s mission was to guard the personal safety of the king in a close-by position,.in accordance with its role, the royal guard could be divided into two kind. One was a guard of honor and the other was just common protection. The unit for a guard of honor mainly took charge of preserving the authority of the king. According to Koryesa 72, Ryebokji, regulation governing a guard of honor and guarding, the close-by prokection of the king's Ae-ryun was performed by Gyun-ryong-gun. which was accompanied by four Nang-jang, two person Sang-jang-goon, two person Dae-jang-goon, four person Chun-woo-be-sin-jang-goon, and in front of which were Woo-san, Chung-gok-byong-dea-san, Gong-jak-sun, Hong-su-sun, headed by Do-jee, Joong-gum. Soon-gum-goon followed this guarding procession. Gyun-ryong-gun performed important duties not only at the time of royal processions but in side the palace, which was the duty of Sook-wee, which was performed at a very close-by position to the king by the unit bracing up to reconfirm their loyalties by staying close to them. These series of measures were directly related to the establishment of the powerful guarding troops, which was a key to the strengthening of royal power.

But just in case they did a job as a member of capital protection military affairs. A question of finance was the reason why there had been dual protection system due to financial matter. If it increased number of man it would pay much money, therefore central military man who has no relevance to national finance were supplied as members of military affairs for the protection of king. Two organization of measures were directly related to the establishment of the powerful guarding troops, which was a key to the strengthening of royal power.
