        Patients with type 2 diabetes have a two-to three-times greater risk of developing car-diovascular disease than people without diabetes, and the mortality rate from cardiovascular disease is also reported to increase. The reason why cardiovascular disease is more common in type 2 diabetic patients is not only that cardiovascular risk factors are more common than non-diabetic patients, but also that diabetes itself is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Since rosiglitazone. which was introduced as a treatment for type 2 diabetes in 2000, has been argued to increase cardiovascular disease sluch as myocardial infarction. there were clinical trials of cardiovascular safety of it such as DREAM. ADOPT and RECORD. As a result. rosiglitazone has been banned due to the risk of cardiovascular disease. The US FDA and other regulatory agencies have required clinical trials for type 2 diabetes treatments afterward. 1n this study. it is reviewed that recently developed SGL T2 inhibitors has cardiovascular benefits as a novel mechanism of type 2 diabetes treatment. SGL T2 inhibitors inhibit the renal sodium glucose co-transporter(SGLT2), thereby reducing glucose reabsorption and increasing excretion of it. and consequently lowering blood glucose levels. Recent papers on ongoing cardiovascular-related clinical trials of SGL T2 in-hibitors such as CANVAS. CANVAS-R. CREDENCE of canagliflozin, DECLARE-TIMI 58 of dapagliflozin. and EMPA -REG outcomes of empagliflozin were examined thoroughly as well.

        황사 기간 동안에 어린이, 성인, 노인에서의 자각증상과 예방행동에 대한 조사연구

        Purpose: Recently there are scientific evidences for the health effects of Asian dust-storms. Particularly in 2002, the daily average of PM_(10) exceeded 600 and 700 ㎍/㎥ in March and April respectively. We examined the effects of Asian dust-storms on perceived symptoms and preventive behaviors among children, adults, and elders. Method: The subjects of this study were 425 children, 444 adults and 60 elders. A questionnaire survey was carried out on the children and the adults by teachers and on the elders by interviewers to obtain information on demographic variables, perceived symptoms and preventive behaviors, previous respiratory disease, environmental tobacco smoke, and proximity between the house and the road during Asian dust-storms. We analyzed using descriptive statistics, X_(2) test and multiple logistic regression models. After adjustment for potential confounders, we estimated the odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals of the children and the elders for perceived symptoms and preventive behaviors. Result: The elders had a significantly higher prevalence of respiratory symptoms than the other groups. The children had a significantly higher prevalence than the adults in getting URI (1.51), coughing (1.68), rhinorrhea (1.46), fever (2.39) and medication for allergy or asthma (1.90). The children had better behaviors than the elders in closing windows (3.57), taking less outdoor recreational activity (2.59) and staying home (2.60).

        Proteome Profiling Unfurl Differential Expressed Proteins from Various Explants in Platycodon Grandiflorum

        Platycodon grandiflorum, commonly known as Doraji in Korea, has a wide range of pharmacologic properties, such as reducing adiposity and hyperlipidemia, and antiatherosclerotic effects. However, the mechanisms underlying these effects remain unclear. In order to profile proteins from the nodal segment, callus, root and shoot, high throughput proteome approach was executed in the present study. Two dimensional gels stained with CBB, a total of 84 differential expressed proteins were confirmed out of 839 protein spots using image analysis by Progenesis SameSpot software. Out of total differential expressed spots, 58 differential expressed protein spots (≥ 2-fold) were analyzed using MASCOT search engine according to the similarity of sequences with previously characterized proteins along with the UniProt database. Out of 58 differential expressed protein, 32 protein spots were up-regulated such as ribulose- 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase, endoplasmic oxidoreductin-1, heat stress transcription factor A3, RNA pseudourine synthase 4, cysteine proteinase, GntR family transcriptional regulator, E3 xyloglucan 6-xylosyltransferase, while 26 differential protein spots were down-regulated such as L-ascorbate oxidase precursor, late embryogenesis abundant protein D-34, putative SCO1 protein, oxygen-evolving enhancer protein 3. However, frequency distribution of identified proteins using iProClass databases, and assignment by function based on gene ontology revealed that the identified proteins from the explants were mainly associated with the nucleic acid binding (17%), transferase activity (14%) and ion binding (12%). In that way, the exclusive protein profile may provide insight clues for better understanding the characteristics of proteins and metabolic activity in various explants of the economically important medicinal plant Platycodon grandiflorum.

      • Proteome profiling unraveling the characterization of diploid and tetraploid roots in Platycodon grandiflorum

        Platycodon grandiflorum is a perennial flowering plant, known as Chinese bell flower, widespread in northeast Asia. The roots of this species are used for centuries to treat diseases, and have extensive pharmacological effects such as reducing adiposity, hyperlipidemia as well as anti-atherosclerotic disorder. In this study, systematical and targeting proteome analysis were executed from the 3, 4 and 5 months aged diploid and tetraploid roots of Platycodon grandiflorum and the proteins were separated by 2-DE and stained by CBB. In diploid roots, a total of 30 protein spots (≥ 2-fold) were analyzed using MASCOT search engine according to the similarity of sequences with previously characterized proteins along with the UniProt database. Among the 30 differentially expressed proteins, 21 proteins sopts were identified as up-regulated and 9 proteins were identified as down-regulated. In contrary, a total of 40 differentially expressed proteins were confirmed from tetraploid roots whereas 28 protein spots were confirmed as up-regulated and 12 proteins were identified as down-regulated. However, the differentially expressed proteins from diploid and tetraploid roots were classified into 12 and 14 possible functional categories respectively using Protein Information Resources. The results revealed that the identified proteins from diploid and tetraploid roots were mainly involved in oxidoreductase activity, nucleotide binding, transferase activity and catalytic activity in bellflower roots. In conclusion, the exclusive proteins from diploid and tetraploid roots may provide insight clues for better understanding the characteristics and functions of proteins and metabolic activity of Platycodon grandiflorum.

        뇌졸중 환자의 시선 방향 조절이 균형과 보행에 미치는 영향

        PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of visual control on gait speed and balance in patients with stroke. Static balance and gait speed were investigated with comparison and fixed direction of visual. METHODS: We included twenty-six patients with stroke. Participants were measured static balance while standing on a forceplate with one of 4 different visual direction in front, floor, non-affected side and affected side for 30 seconds. To compare of the gait speed, participants had to walk with one of fixed visual direction. And to compare of gait speed with visual dispersion, gait speed were measured with visual change in left and right, up and down direction every 5m, 2m and 1m intervals. RESULTS: The result of the static balance with fixed visual showed that the affected side and the non-affected side were shown significantly increased sway of total sway length, mediolateral distance, anteroposterior distance, average velocity(p<.05). The gait speed with fixed visual showed that affected side was significantly slower (p<.05). And the gait speed significantly increased as interval of visual dispersion decrease in the sagittal and horizontal plane (p<.05). CONCLUSION: The results from this study showed that the visual direction effected on static balance and the faster visual movement made to increase the gait speed. Therefore the rehabilitation training with visual control may be implemented for stroke patients.

        경찰공무원의 비윤리적 행동 진단

        경찰조직을 비롯한 공조직은 구성원들의 비윤리성 평가 및 평가결과 외부공개에 소극적이며, 접근방식도 관료부패에 한정지으려는 경향이 강하다. 그러나 구성원들의 비윤리적 행동들에 대한 정확한 확인과 측정, 그리고 해결은 조직의 존속과 성장을 위해 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 경찰공무원들의 비윤리적 행동 차원을 범주화(직무태만, 사적 이용, 부정직, 직권남용)하고, 그 수준을 측정하였으며, 개인적ㆍ근무환경적 특성에 따른 차이를 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 경찰공무원들의 비윤리적 행동수준은 전반적으로 평균 이하였으며, 성별, 계급, 근무부서, 재직기간별로 비윤리적 행동의 수준에 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이는 개인적ㆍ근무환경적 특성차이에 따른 윤리교육, 윤리분위기, 시스템 수립 등의 필요성을 시사한다. 또한 낮은 비윤리적 행동수준이 곧 윤리적 행동으로 연결되지 않는다는 점과 다소 부정적인 자기진단에 얼마나 솔직하게 응답하였는가에 대한 방법론상의 문제점 등을 고려했을 때, 인적관리 차원에서의 지속적인 관심과 체계적인 연구가 필요할 것이다. The Police force and other public sector organizations do not like non-ethical evaluation of their members and disclosure of evaluation results. However, it is essential for survival and growth of the organization to identify, measure and resolve accurately the non-ethical behaviors of their members. In this study, the dimensions of police officers’ unethical behavior were categorized as negligence, personal use, dishonesty, and misconduct of police officers, and the level of those dimensions were measured. After that, the differences due to the individual and work environmental characteristics were explored. The result showed that the level of non-ethical behavior was lowerer than the average. And the differences was statistically significant according to gender, rank of organization, deployed department of the work, and the period of work duration. This implied the necessities of education of police ethics, ethical atmosphere, and establishment of ethical system per differences in individual and work environmental characteristics. Also, considering the fact that the low level of ethical behavior did not lead to ethical action in actual and the inherent problem in research method how frankly the respondents answered the negative self-evaluation, continuous interest in non-ethical behavior and further systemic research are needed in a dimension of personnel management.

        경찰조직의 환경변화 적응력 영향요인 탐색에 관한 연구

        이 연구는 경찰조직을 둘러싼 환경변화를 진단하고 조직이 생존·발전하기 위한 준비나 적응정도를 경찰공무원들이 어떻게 인식하고 있는가를 살펴본 것이다. 또한 경찰조직의 구조와 문화, 그리고 변혁적 리더십이 환경변화 적응력에 미치는 영향에 대해 실증적으로 검증하였다. 분석결과, 환경변화 조직적응력에 대한 인식은 평균 수준이었으며, 구체적으로 조직구조나 구성원 인식 개선보다는 프로그램이나 절차, 내용 면에 대한 준비 수준을 낮게 인식하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 조직구조, 조직문화 그리고 변혁적 리더십을 중심으로 영향요인을 탐색해 본 결과, 조직문화중 발전문화가 조직적응력에 미치는 영향력이 가장 크게 나타났으며, 다음으로 합리문화, 조직구조의 분권화 순이었다. 변혁적 리더십과 집단문화는 같은 수준의 영향력을 보였다. 또한 공식적 조직구조와 조직문화 중 위계문화는 환경변화에 대한 조직적응력에 부(-)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 경찰조직이 환경변화에 유동적으로 대처하고 적응력을 갖추기 위해서는 기존의 경직적·형식적 구조와 조직문화를 유기적·신축적으로 변화시켜야 할 필요성이 있음을 시사하고 있다. This study identified the environment surrounding the police and explored how the police recognized their organizational preparedness or adaptation in order to survive and develop in changes. In addition, it examined how the organizational structure and culture, and transformational leadership influenced on the its adaptability of environmental change. It turned out that recognition of organizational preparedness for environmental change was average. They appreciated the preparations of specific programs, procedures and the contents are lower, rather than the organizational structure and awareness raise in its members. Exploring the influencing factor focused on organizational structure, its culture and the transformational leadership, it appeared that developmental culture had the highest influence among cultural factors followed by rational culture and the decentralization of organizational structure. Transformational leadership and group culture proved to have the same level of influence. And the formal structure of organization and hierarchical culture in cultural factors had negative influences on organizational adaptability in changes. This result showed that the police needed to transform their inflexible and formal structure and organizational culture into flexible and organic ones to cope with and adapt the environmental change proactively.

        일반논문 : 다문화사회의 치안활동에 관한 연구

        우리나라는 초국가적 인구이동의 확산으로 인해 외국동포, 외국인력, 결혼이민자 등의 급증으로 다인종·다문화사회로 빠르게 변화하고 있는 실정이다. 문제는 다문화주의를 경제적·사회적 이익이나 효과에만 치중하여 접근한다면, 소수공동체 개개인의 인권을 보호하기가 어려우며, 그로 인해 ‘우울한’ 문제점들이 발생하게 될 것이라는 점이다. 이 연구는 한국의 치안상황이 다문화사회를 위해 얼마나 준비되어 있는지 분석하고, 아울러 무엇을 준비해야 하는지 고민해보고자 함에 목적이 있다. 선행 연구들이 외국인을 각종 일탈과 비행, 범죄행위의 주체로만 접근한 한계를 극복하고자 이 연구에서는 피해자 지위의 외국인 특성과 외국인에 대한 각종 범죄, 사회적 문제점을 함께 살펴보았다. 즉, 다문화사회로의 전환에 따른 치안상의 문제점을 외국인에 의해서 수반되는 문제점과 외국인에 대하여 발생 가능한 문제점으로 접근하여 범죄에 대한 외국인의 양면적 지위를 고려하고자 하였다. 다문화사회에서 요구되는 치안정책은 매우 광범위하다. 이 연구에서는 다인종·다문화시대의 올바른 치안활동을 크게범죄예방적, 범죄수사적, 피해지원적 차원으로 구분하였다. 먼저 범죄예방적 측면에서는 유관기관과 언론 등 다양한 매체를 통해 범죄행위에 뒤따르는 고통뿐만 아니라 범죄피해 방지를 인지시키기 위한 홍보활동과 함께 외국인 밀집지역을 대상으로 한 다양한 범죄예방 활동이 필요하다. 둘째, 범죄수사적 측면에서는 외사경찰 활동의 내실화를 추구하고, 소수인종을 배려하여 일정비율의 외국인 경찰관을 특별채용하는 방안이 있다. 마지막으로, 범죄피해지원적 차원에서도 사회 지원기관과의 협력관계를 구축하여 적극적이고 현실적인 지원과 구조가 가능하도록 해야 할 것이다. By spread of the movement of large scale population as overseas koreans, foreign workforce, a marriage emigrant etc. is increased rapidly, korea has changing quickly to multi-raceㆍmulti-cultural society. If multi-culturalism has a chase of social?economic profit approached, it is difficult to protect a minority human rights, and `gloomy` various problems can de occurred. A purpose of this study, korea`s security-situation has prepared how for the multi-Cultural Society, and what kind of thing have to prepared. This study, in order to overcome the preceding study flies a foreigner with all kinds of deviation and criminal, looked into a foreigner`s characteristic as a victim and all kinds of crimes regarding a foreigner, and social issues. So to speak, a security problem along multi-culturalism conversion, this study approached in the problems that the occurrence was possible about foreigners with a problem to occur by foreigners, it took both sides rank of a foreigner regarding a crime into consideration. Security-policy to be required in multi-cultural society is very widely. This study, policing in the multi-cultural society, it is classified to three dimensions, crime prevention, crime investigation, and crime victims. Firstly, crime prevention dimensions, through various media such as related organization and press with aggressive public information activity, various crime prevention policing at high density foreigner residential areas is necessary. Secondly, crime investigation dimensions, korean foreign affairs police activity is efficiently and in order to give consideration to a minority race, there is a plan that special employment called a policeman of regular ratio foreigner. Lastly, crime victims dimensions, With establish cooperative relation with a social assistance organization, aggressive, and realistic assistance and rescue shall be possible.

        부부경찰공무원의 직무태도에 관한 연구

        경찰조직 내 부부경찰공무원의 비율이 증가하고 있다. 이들은 부부 각자의 직무태도 뿐만 아니라 몸담고 있는 조직과 동료들에게 어떠한 형태로든지 영향을 주고받을 것이다. 따라서 부부경찰공무원들의 직무태도에 영향을 미치는 변수들은 어떤 것이 있으며, 관련된 변수들이 이들에게 어떻게 영향을 미칠 것인가를 학문적 관점에서 분석하는 것은 큰 의미가 있는 작업일 것이다. 이 연구의 주요 목적은 실증분석을 통하여 부부경찰공무원의 직무태도 영향요인 탐색에 있으며, 크게 개인적 차원(① 배우자 지원, ② 역할갈등, ③ 일-가정 양립인식)과 조직적 차원(① 조직적 지원-상관의 지원, ② 가족친화적 조직문화를 포함한 조직문화, ③ 조직의 양성평등 인식)으로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 분석결과, 부부경찰관들은 배우자가 일에 대한 존중을 해주는 경우(β=.354, p<.01)와 조직의 양성평등 인식이 높은 경우(β=.234, p<.05)에 감정몰입에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 배우자의 가사분담(β=.363, p<.01)과 상관의 지원((β=.250, p<.05)이 지속적 몰입에 정(+)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 배우자가 내 일을 존중(β=.351, p<.01)해줄수록, 가족친화적 조직문화(β=.302, p<.01)에 대한 인식이 강할수록 규범적 몰입이 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 경찰조직 내 부부경찰의 비율은 최근 급격히 증가추세이며 향후에도 증가가 예상된다. 따라서 조직 내 인사 배치 상 고려가 필요하고, 이들이 조직의 생산성을 높일 수 있도록 하는 정책의 필요성도 나날이 부각되고 있다. 앞으로도 부부경찰공무원의 직무태도 영향변수와 결과변수에 대한 다양한 논의와 지속적인 검증을 통하여 종합적인 인적관리방안이 모색되어야 할 것이다. The job relationship of married police officer couples who have already attained a considerable level of involvement in the police organization will affect their spouse’s job attitude, and will eventually influence their colleagues and the organization in any way. For these reasons, it would be very meaningful to analyze what variables affect the job attitude of the married police officer couples and how the related variables affect them academically. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the influencing factors of the job attitude of the married police officers. For this purpose, it applied two levels of approach: individual and organizational. Individual level was categorized by three parts: support by their spouse, role conflict, and perception on work-family balance. Organizational balance consisted of three parts: support by organization or supervisors, organizational culture including family-friendly culture, and organizational perception on gender equality. The result showed that emotional commitment was influenced by spouse s respect for work (β=.354, p<.01) and higher perception of gender equality in organization (β=.234, p<.05). In addition, division of household labor(β=.363, p<.01) and support by supervisor(β=.250, p<.05) had a positive effect on the persistent commitment. Also, the more their spouse respect for their work(β=.351, p<.01) and the stronger they perceived family-friendly organizational culture(β=.302, p<.01), the higher normative commitment they showed. There was no statistically significant difference in the organizational commitment between the groups of married police officer couples and of those who were not. However, there was a significant difference in familyfriendly organizational culture and perception on gender equality. Married police officer couples perceived that the organizational culture of the police was low level of family-friendly organizational culture and that perception on gender equality was relatively lower than others. The proportion of married police officer couples has increased rapidly in recent years and is expected to increase in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the personnel placement in the organization, and there is a need for policies that enable them to increase the productivity of the organization. Unlike the Unites States where research on these issues are actively conducted, research on the same issue in Korea is at an early stage. Therefore, there should be various discussions on the influencing factors of the police officers job attitude and the outcome variables, and a comprehensive human resource management plan should be sought through continuous verification in the future.
