        Delayed diagnosis of intramedullary spinal cord germinoma

        Germ-cell tumors (GCTs) are common in the central nervous system. GCTs are highly sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy and can be cured without radical surgery. However, this tumor produces nonspecific imaging findings, and its rarity can make diagnosis challenging. Here we report a case in which the first diagnosis was uncertain and follow-up imaging revealed intramedullary germinoma. The patient underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy after the diagnosis.

        울산 5개구 공공도서관의 공간계획 특성이 이용자 만족도에 미치는 영향

        This study examines how spatial characteristics of the public libraries affect user’s satisfaction through the survey. A principal component analysis is used to reduce many overlapping perceptional variables to latent factors that are used in subsequent models of ANOVA (analysis of variance). Four perceptional attributes that affect user’s satisfaction are identified: amenity, spatial configuration of resting place, recognition of the building, and recognition of the interior space. The results of this study show that favorable perceptions of spatial configuration of library’s resting place are independently associated with higher satisfaction. Other factors correlated with higher user’s satisfaction are psychological accessibility to the building, easiness of entrance and core finding, simple circulation, and connectivity between indoor and outdoor spaces of the library. Findings suggest that designers should consider practical use of library space by the provision of good accessibility, connectivity between spaces, and well-organized resting places.

      • 딥러닝을 이용한 임의 관측지에서의 조위 예측

        본 연구에서는 임의의 관측지에서의 조위를 예측하기 위하여 인근 조위 관측소의 조위 관측자료를 입력으로 하는 딥러닝 모델을 제시한다. 시계열 데이터 예측에 뛰어나다고 알려져 있는 순환신경망(RNN, Recurrent Neural Network) 모델을 사용하였으며, 모델의 훈련 및 검증을 위하여 울산 조위관측소와 부산 조위관측소의 조위 데이터를 이용하였다. 조위 예측의 정확도를 평가하기 위하여 평균 제곱급 오차(RMSE, Root Mean Square Error) 및 상관계수(CC, Correlation Coefficient)를 계산한 결과, 각각 5cm, 0.95로 높은 정확도가 나타났다. 또한 예측된 데이터를 조화 분해하여 실제 조위 데이터의 결과와 비교하였을 때 4대 분조 모두에서 진폭 정확도 95% 이상, 위상차 4° 이하가 나타났다. In this research, tidal level of an arbitrary station is predicted by using a deep learning model. RNN (Recurrent Neural Network) model is used and tidal level data of Ulsan tide station and Busan tide station is used for model training and validation. To evaluate the model performance, accuracy of the developed model is discussed in terms of root mean square error (RMSE) and correlation coefficient (CC) of the predicted tidal level. The results indicated that the model had a high accuracy. Also, harmonic analysis is conducted to compare similarities with observed data. As a result, accuracy of the amplitude was more than 95% and the phase difference was less than 4° in all four largeness tide value.

        수수 품종에 따른 이화학적 특성, 기능 성분 및 생리활성

        본 연구에서는 국내 육성 수수의 식품 및 공중보건산업 소재로서의 이용 다양화를 위한 기초자료를 확보하고자 수수 품종별 이화학적 특성 및 기능 성분을 분석하고, 수수를 에탄올로 추출한 후 생리활성을 비교하였다. 수수의 수분 및 회분 함량은 각각 9.72~10.17%, 1.89~2.24% 범위로 나타났다. 조단백질 및 조지방 함량은 각각 9.26~10.70%, 3.12~4.54%의 범위로 남풍찰이 다른 품종에 비해 높았다. 식이섬유 함량은 동안메가 7.88%로 다른 품종에 비해 높았다. 총 전분 함량은 66.87~68.40% 범위였으며, 아밀로스 함량은 찰성인 남풍찰, 소담찰이 각각 5.66%, 6.06%로 동안메 23.92%보다 낮은 함량을 보였다. 수수의 수분 결합력은 119.36~138.82% 범위로 나타났으며 동안메가 다른 품종에 비해 높았다. 용해도는 6.29~13.93% 범위였고 팽윤력은 6.69~8.93% 범위로 나타났으며 동안메(8.93%)가 가장 높았다. 호화 특성 분석 결과 값이 높을수록 식미가 양호한 강하점도가 소담찰이 다른 품종에 비해 높은 값을 보였다. 치반점도는 -85.08~89.89 RVU 범위였다. 수수 품종별 GABA 함량을 분석한 결과 동안메가 115.87 ㎎/g으로 남풍찰, 소담찰보다 높은 함량을 보였으며 phytic acid 함량은 남풍찰이 1.79 g/100 g으로 높았다. 총 폴리페놀 함량의 경우 동안메가 171.86 ㎎/g extract로 다른 품종에 비해 높은 값을 보였다. 항산화 활성의 지표로 활용할 수 있는 FRAP 값을 측정한 결과 541.48~990.82 mM의 범위로 소담찰이 가장 높은 값을 보였으며, α-glucosidase 저해 활성은 소담찰 98.27%, 동안메 96.98%, 남풍찰 89.75% 순으로 나타났다. 미백 활성 소재로 검토하기 위해 분석한 tyrosinase 저해 활성은 동안메가 62.16%로 가장 높았다. 호화 특성, 기능 성분 및 생리활성 등의 결과를 볼 때 수수 세가지 품종 중 동안메와 소담찰이 기능성 소재로서의 활용성이 높을 것으로 판단된다. 아울러 본 연구 결과는 수수를 식품 및 공중보건산업 소재로 활용하기 위한 기초자료로 활용이 가능할 것으로 생각되며, 추후 활용 목적에 따라 동안메 및 소담찰 품종의 기능 성분과 메커니즘 구명에 대한 연구가 추가적으로 요구된다. This study investigated the physicochemical properties, functional components, and of sorghum cultivars, to select a good cultivar for use in the food processing and cosmetic industries. The moisture, crude protein, lipid, ash, total dietary fiber, total starch, and amylose content of sorghum ranged from 9.72∼10.17%, 9.26∼10.70%, 3.12∼4.54%, 1.89∼2.24%, 4.73∼7.88%, 66.87∼68.40%, and 5.66∼23.92%. The binding capacity, water solubility, and swelling power were greatest in Donganme. An analysis of the pasting properties revealed Sodamchal had a high breakdown value. The γ-aminobutyric (GABA) and phytic acid contents of the sorghum cultivars were 17.57∼115.87 ㎎/g and 0.88∼1.79 ㎎/100 g, respectively. The total polyphenol content of the Donganme, Nampungchal, and Sodamchal cultivars were 171.86, 76.54, and 156.34 ㎎/g, and the ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) was 933.98, 541.48, and 990.82 mM/g, respectively. The α-glucosidase inhibit activity was 96.98, 89.75, and 98.27%, and the tyrosinase inhibit activity was 62.16, 61.64, and 61.90%, respectively. The total phenol content and physiological activities of sorghum, especially Donganme and Sodamchal, were high and these cultivars be used as a functional material.

        훈련교·강사 보수교육 의무화를 위한 소수훈련직종 보수교육 인정 제도 적용방안 연구

        2020년 3월 「직업능력개발법 일부개정법률안」이 통과되고, 직업능력개발 훈련교·강사의 보수교육 의무화가 법제화됨에 따라, 보수교육 운영기관에서는 훈련교·강사의 역량 강화 및 직업훈련 품질 향상을 위한 보수교육을 제공하는 방안을 마련하고자 하였다. 그러나 보수교육의 수요가 일부 직종에 집중적으로 몰려 있어 교육훈련수요가 적은 직종에 대해서는 별도의 개별학습 등을 보수교육으로 인정해주는 방안을 마련해야 할 필요성이 제기되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교육훈련수요가 적은 소수훈련 직종을 먼저 정의하고, 소수훈련직종에 속하는 훈련교·강사를 위한 보수교육 인정방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 선행연구 및 현황 분석, 이해관계자와의 협의, 전문가 자문 및 소수훈련직종 종사자 자문 등을 실시하였다. 연구결과로 소수훈련직종을 유형 1과 유형2로 나누어 구분하여 정의하고, 여러 교육유형을 포괄하는 소수훈련직종의 보수교육 인정방안을 도출하였으며, 소수훈련직종의 보수교육 인정범위의 확대에 대한 논의 및 제언을 제시하였다. As the “Partial Amendment to the Vocational Competency Development Act” was passed, and the mandatory refresher training was legislated in March 2020, HRD education institutions has prepared a plan for the improved refresher training to strengthen the competency of vocational training teachers and to improve the quality of refresher training. However, as demand for refresher training is concentrated in partial occupations, it is necessary prepare a separate plan to recognize personal learning as a refresher training for a minority of teachers who are not provided with a training. Therefore, this study aims to identify areas of a minor training occupations that don’t exist many participants for a refresher training and to derive ways to recognize their multiple education experiences and participations instead of attending a refresher training. To this end, literature review, analysis of current situation, consultation with stakeholders, and written interviews with experts were conducted. As a result, a minority of training occupations was defined as type 1 and type 2 and ways of the recognition of refresher training for minority of training occupations which embrace various educational types were derived. Lastly, discussions and suggestions on the expansion of the scope of the recognition of refresher training for minority of training occupations were provided.

        Evaluation of the microbiological safety, quality changes, and genotoxicity of chicken breast treated with flexible thin-layer dielectric barrier discharge plasma

        The microbiological safety, quality changes, and genotoxicity of chicken breasts treated withflexible thin-layer dielectric barrier discharge (FTDBD) plasma inside a sealed package wereinvestigated. Following 10 min plasma treatment, the numbers of total aerobic bacteria, Listeriamonocytogenes, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella Typhimurium were reduced by 3.36, 2.14, 2.73, and2.71 Log CFU/g, respectively. Color L* and b* values increased whereas a* value decreased followingplasma treatment with increasing exposure duration. Lipid oxidation was unaffected by plasmatreatment. In sensory evaluation, flavor decreased and off-flavor increased with extended plasmaexposure time, however, these changes had no effect on acceptability. Increased cohesiveness was theonly texture profile analysis parameter that changed following plasma treatment. No genotoxicity wasdetected in plasma-treated chicken breast using the Salmonella mutagenicity assay. Therefore, FTDBDplasma is applicable since it is able to improve microbiological safety with minimal changes in sensoryproperties of the chicken breast.

        Efficient Reconfigurable Architecture to Accelerate Descriptor Extraction in SURF Algorithm

        Speeded-up robust features (SURF) is considered to be the most efficient feature extraction algorithm and it has been implemented in powerful hardware for real-time operation due to its characteristics of data-intensive computation of high complexity. Especially the computational load of the descriptor extraction procedure is very significant and the overall performance of SURF can be improved by speeding up the descriptor extraction step with increasing parallel hardware accelerators. However, simply increasing the hardware accelerators is burdensome because of causing significant area and power consumption. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a reconfigurable hardware architecture that enables achieving the maximum performance of the descriptor extraction step with making the best use of the existing accelerators without any additional ones. Experimental results show that the proposed architecture improves the performance of the descriptor extraction step by 21.51% ~ 47.31% with negligible area and small power overheads of less than 1% and 4% when compared with the existing hardware implementations of the SURF algorithm.
