        A Case of a Bleeding Duodenal Lipoma Successfully Controlled by Endoscopic Resection

        This is a case report of successful endoscopic resection (ER) of a bleeding duodenal lipoma. An 85-year-old woman who was diagnosedwith asymptomatic subepithelial tumor of the duodenum 3 years ago visited the emergency room with hematemesis and was admittedto our hospital. Emergent esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed bleeding from an ulcer on the superior aspect of a subepithelialtumor measuring about 20 mm in diameter, at the superior duodenal angle. The ulcer was in the active stage (A1), with a visible vessel. The bleeding was controlled by ER of the tumor using a snare. The final pathological diagnosis was duodenal lipoma with mucosalulceration. The patient showed no signs of bleeding for 10 days after the procedure; subsequently, she was discharged and followed upfor regular checkups.

        Prototype Development of Sharp Learning: Learning Content Recommendation Platform

        With the advancement of technology and digital media, information has become content-oriented, with consumers using various platforms to gather information. However, there is a need for platforms specifically engineered to the needs of practical information, amidst the platforms providing professional information. In this study, a prototype of a learning content recommendation platform specially designed to provide practical information adhering to everyday needs, “Sharp Learning,” was developed and explained in detail. With analysis of learning content focused on information with modern-day practicality, the scope of learning content was widened and categorized into modern-day interests. A step-by-step recommendation algorithm was developed to customize a system for each individual, to design the most suitable platform for Sharp Learning.

        Additive-Manufactured Flexible Triboelectric Sensor Based on Porous PDMS Sponge for Highly Detecting Joint Movements

        A hybrid sequential additive manufacturing process combined an extrusion syringe and a fused deposition modeling is developed to fabricate a porous PDMS based triboelectric sensor easily and environmentally. The porosity of the PDMS is controlled by using wet sugar particle sizes, and we fabricate a porous PDMS plate with a pore-to-volume ratio of 46%, which has 11 times larger internal contact area and 52.4% softer mechanical strength compared to a non-porous one. So, two key factors for high performance triboelectric sensor is obtained using the proposed method. A cylinder-shaped triboelectric sensor impregnated carbon black particles on the porous PDMS matrix, which is wearable on a finger, is fabricated for evaluation of its characteristics on detecting finger joint movements. From the experimental results, the sensor shows the ability to help quantitatively analyze finger movements, therefore, the proposed flexible triboelectric sensor can apply to athletes or patients around their knees, wrists, or other joints to analyze their physical behavior. Also, we believe that it can be utilized to measure various physical signals such as contact force, gripping force, and pressure with small values.

        휴대폰 동영상 피드백: 학습효과를 최대화하기 위해 어떻게 제공되어야 하는가?

        동영상 피드백의 효과를 조사한 선행연구들의 결과에 따르면 동영상 피드백이 긍정적인 학습효과를 발생시키기 위해 학습자에게 단독으로 제공되어서는 안 되고 주의집중 단서, 오류수정 정보, 전문가 모델 동영상 등과 함께 결합되어 제공되어야 하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구의 목적은 운동학습 효과를 극대화하기 위해 동영상 피드백을 어떻게 제공해야 하는지 규명하기 위해 위 요인들의 결합된 효과를 조사 하였다. 구체적으로 선행연구들이 가장 효율적인 동영상 피드백 제공방법으로 제시한 ‘오류수정 정보+학습자 동영상’ 제공조건에 언어적 주의집중 단서와 전문가 모델 동영상이 부가될 때의 학습효과를 조사하였다. 40명의 피험자들은 네 가지 동영상 피드백 제공집단으로 나누어 땅볼 인사이드 축구 패스를 연습하였다. 24시간 후에 실시된 파지검사 결과, ‘오류수정 정보+학습자 동영상’ 조건에 주의집중 단서가 부가되었을 때 학습효과는 다르게 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 전문가 모델 동영상이 추가로 제공되었을 때 학습효과는 가장 우수했다. 부가된 전문가 모델의 동영상은 학습자에게 오류탐지를 위한 견본으로 사용된 것처럼 보인다. 또한 전문가 모델 동영상은 관찰학습 효과와 신체분절의 상대동작 정보를 제공하여 동작 폼의 습득을 더 용이하게 하는 것처럼 보인다. 그러나 동영상 피드백에 오류수정 정보가 결합될 경우 주의집중 단서의 추가적 제공은 불필요 한 것처럼 보인다. The purpose of this study was to examine how mobile phone video feedback should be delivered to learners to maximize the motor learning effect. Specifically, we investigated the effect of video feedback(VF) combined with error-correcting information(EI), attention-focusing cues(AC) and expert model video(EMV). The to-be-learned task was an inside-of-the-foot soccer accuracy pass. The performance score represented kicking form and pass accuracy. Forty-six female participants were randomly assigned to one of four experimental groups according to what factors were combined with a video feedback; 1) control, 2) EI+VF, 3) EI+AC+VF, and 4) EI+AC+EMV+VF groups. All participants practiced 10 trials without any information during a practice phase and 40 trials with video feedback during an acquisition phase. A retention test was administered 24 hours later. The results indicated that all video feedback groups displayed better learning effect than the control group. The EI+AC+EMV+VF group exhibited better learning effect compared with other video feedback groups. These results suggest that the video feedback should be combined with EI+AC+EV to maximize learning effect. However, attention-focusing cues are redundant when error-correcting information was presented. Adding expert model video to video feedback seems to facilitate the detection of movement error by providing a template for evaluating kinematic features of video feedback.

      • Structural, optical and electrical impacts of marcasite in pyrite thin films

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The structural and electro-optical influence of marcasite on the properties of solution-processed iron pyrite thin films was investigated. Marcasite has a strong tendency to form simultaneously with pyrite upon sulfurization of amorphous iron-oxide precursor films, leading to a mixed-phase structure in which pyrite grains are surrounded by nanocrystalline marcasite boundaries. The optical analysis in combination with spectroscopic ellipsometry revealed that marcasite should have a bandgap of approximately 0.85–0.88 eV with a higher absorption coefficient than pyrite, differing strongly from the prior belief that marcasite has a bandgap of less than 0.4 eV. In addition, the pyrite/marcasite film has been found to have a larger diffusion coefficient for photogenerated minority carriers than the phase-pure pyrite film from electrochemical impedance analyses, resulting in a higher photocurrent density, as determined through photoelectrochemical measurement. The facile transport of a minority carrier along the marcasite boundaries is the putative origin of the observed improvement in the photoactivity of the pyrite/marcasite mixture films.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> In the mixture film, pyrite is surrounded by nanocrystalline marcasite. </LI> <LI> Marcasite has a bandgap of 0.85 to 0.88 eV, which is not as small as 0.4 eV. </LI> <LI> Marcasite phase provids an efficient path for diffusion of photogenerated holes. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        2모작 적응 준조숙 내탈립 대립 다수성 콩 품종 ‘선유2호’

        A soybean cultivar, “Seonyu2ho” for double cropping using soy-paste and tofu was developed in 2011 using the pedigree method by crossing “Milyang235ho” and “Jungmo3004ho.” A promising line, YS2441-B-2S-11-3, was selected and named as “Milyang334.” It demonstrated prominent early maturing, shattering resistance, and high yield in regional yield trials (RYTs) from 2017 to 2019, and was released by the name “Seonyu2ho.” The cultivar showed a determinate growth habit, white flowers, grey pubescence, yellow seed coat, yellow hilum, flat-spherical seed shape, and large seed size (27.9 g per 100 seeds). “Seonyu2ho” matured on October 5 (112-growing day cycle) in RYT and was suitable for double cropping with winter crops, such as wheat, barley, and onion. It was resistant to bacterial pustule and s oyb ean mosaic virus and tolerant to lodging in fields. Particularly, “Seonyu2ho” showed a high yield (3.34 ton/ha) and shattering resistance, even if the previously developed early matured cultivars exhibited low yield and easy shattering. Overall, “Seonyu2ho” can contribute to stable soybean production in double cropping.

        원문 : 골프퍼팅 과제의 연습시간을 오전, 오후, 야간으로 배분할 때의 학습효과

        본 연구의 목적은 하루 중 동작기술을 오전 또는 오후에 1회만 연습할 경우, 오전과 오후로 나누어 2회 연습할 경우, 또는 오전, 오후, 야간으로 분산하여 3회 연습할 경우 전체 연습시행 수가 모두 같다면 어느 연습조건이 가장 우수한 학습효과를 부여하는지 조사하는데 있었다. 36명의 피험자들은 세 연습조건에 무작위로 배치되어 골프퍼팅 과제를 연습하였다. 1회 연습집단은 150회의 시행을 오전 또는 오후에 집중하여 실시하였다. 2회 연습집단은 오전에 75회를 실시하고 5시간의 휴식간격 후 오후에 다시 75회를 실시하였다. 3회 연습집단은 오전에 50회, 5시간 후인 오후에 50회, 그리고 다시 5시간 후인 야간에 50회를 실시하였다. 분석결과, 세 연습집단들은 연습단계는 물론 10분과 24시간 후에 실시된 파지검사에서 유의한 차이를 드러내지 못했다. 이 결과는 하루 중 연습을 통해 학습효과를 높이기 위해 연습시간을 오전, 오후, 야간으로 분산할 필요가 없다는 것을 나타낸다. 오히려 연습효율을 고려할 때 연습시간을 오전, 오후, 야간으로 분산하는 것보다 집중하여 1회만 연습하는 것이 더 바람직하다. 본 연구에서 나타난 유의하지 않은 집단차이는 연습시간들 간 간격에 의해 분산연습 효과가 발생되기 위해 휴식간격 동안 수면에 의존한 기억 공고화 작용이 필요한 것처럼 보인다. 즉, 분산연습 효과는 연습시간들을 하루 안에 분산할 때는 발생되지 않고 야간 수면이 포함된 휴식간격으로 분산하여 여러 날에 걸쳐 연습할 때에만 유의한 것처럼 보인다. 그러나 이점을 확증하기 위해 부가적인 연구가 필요하다. This study examined the effect of distributing practice across the morning, afternoon, and evening sessions on learning of a golf putting skill. Thirty-six participants were asked to putt the ball as close to the target as possible. Participants were randomly assigned to one of three groups that differed in the number of practice session performed in the morning, afternoon, and evening. In the one session group participants practiced once in the morning or afternoon. The two session group practiced the first practice session in the morning and 5 hours later the second practice session in the afternoon. The three session group practiced three times at intervals of 5 hours in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The practice groups revealed no difference during the practice phase and 10-min and 24-hr retention tests. These results indicate that distributing the practice sessions across the morning, afternoon, and evening does not benefit motor learning. Rather, considering learning efficiency massing practice sessions is more efficient. than distributing. If the present results came from sleep-dependent consolidation process, the practice sessions should be distributed across days not within a day for learning benefit. If the present results was resulted from wake-based consolidation process, the interval between the practice sessions should be longer for a sufficient consolidation process. However, more detailed study is needed to clarify whether the present results are the effects of wake-based memory consolidation or sleep-dependent consolidation process.

      • Efficient Photoelectrochemical Water Oxidation by Metal-Doped Bismuth Vanadate Photoanode with Iron Oxyhydroxide Electrocatalyst

        <P>Intensive attention has been currently focused on the discovery of semiconductor and proficient cocatalysts for eventual applications to the photoelectrochemical water splitting system. A W-Mo-doped BiVO4semiconductor was prepared by the surfactant-assisted thermal decomposition method on a fluorine-doped tin oxide conductive film. The W-Mo-doped BiVO4films showed a porous morphology with the grain sizes of about 270 nm. Because the hole diffusion length of BiVO4is about 100 nm, the W-Mo-doped BiVO4film in this study is an ideal candidate for the photoelectrochemical water oxidation. Iron oxyhydroxide (FeOOH) electrocatalyst was chemically deposited on the W-Mo-doped BiVO4to investigate the effect of the electrocatalyst on the semiconductor. The W-Mo-doped BiVO4/FeOOH composite electrode showed enhanced activity compared to the pristine W-Mo-doped BiVO4electrode for water oxidation reaction. The chemical deposition is a promising method for the deposition of FeOOH on semiconductor.</P>
