        In present study, we fractionated polysaccharides from Croton tiglium and investigated their hepatoprotective effects on CCI₄ intoxication. Polysaccharide fraction of which molecular weight is over 300,000(HP) showed the most potent hepatoprotective effects on CC1₄ intoxication. Lipid peroxidation, BAST and sALT were used as parameters to evaluate the liver damage. Glucose, xylose and arabinose were found to be monosaccharides composing sugar moiety of HP.

        한국 기업의 자본조달과 마켓타이밍에 관한 연구

        본 연구에서는 국내 상장기업들을 대상으로 기업의 자본구조가 마켓타이밍이론을 따르는지에대해 지배주주의 지분율을 중심으로 살펴본다. 즉 주식발행 시 지배주주의 지분율이 증가 및 유지하는 경우와 감소하는 경우로 구분하여 분석한다. 분석결과, 주식발행 시 지배주주가 증자에 참여하지 않는 경우에는 주가가 고평가되어 있을 때 주식발행을 한다는 마켓타이밍이론을 지지하는것으로 나타난 반면, 지배주주가 증자에 참여하는 경우에는 마켓타이밍이론을 지지하지 않는 것으로나타났다. 즉 지배주주는 자신의 이해와 상황에 따라 주식발행의 마켓타이밍을 선택하는 것으로나타났는데, 이는 지배주주들의 기회주의적 행위로 해석될 수 있다. 다음으로 정보비대칭과 투자자의 비합리성을 고려한 결과, 정보비대칭과 투자자의 비합리성이 존재할 경우 주가가 과대평가되어 있을 때 주식을 발행하는 지배주주의 마켓타이밍 행위가 더욱 두드러지는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 기업지배구조를 고려하여 지배주주의 마켓타이밍 행위를 분석한 결과, 기업지배구조가 취약한경우에만 지배주주의 기회주의적 자본조달행위가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. This paper examines market timing in equity issuance of the listed companies controlled by large shareholders in Korea between 1993 and 2011. The controlling shareholders have incentives to issue the shares when the stock price is overvalued, since the overall value of the controlling shareholders increases. However, this argument is particularly true in cases of equity issuance with dilution of the controlling shareholder. In this paper, we examine return predictability after equity issuance based on the ownership of the controlling shareholders. We find that returns following issuances are poor, which supports market timing theory, only when the controlling shareholder`s stake is reduced. We argue that it is another form of opportunistic behavior by controlling shareholders in Korea. In addition, we find an increase of market timing behavior of the controlling shareholders when the firm has severe information asymmetry and there is the irrationality of investors. Finally, taking into account the corporate governance, we also find an increase of opportunistic behavior of the controlling shareholders when the firm has weak corporate governance.

        Correlations between the Clinical and Ultrasonographic Parameters of Congenital Muscular Torticollis without a Sternocleidomastoid Mass

        Objective: To determine whether ultrasonography at initial presentation can help assess the clinical severity of congenital muscular torticollis (CMT) in infants without a sternocleidomastoid muscle (SCM) mass. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study included 71 infants aged less than 12 months (4.1 ± 2.3 months) with non-mass CMT. The clinical severity was divided into three grades (groups 1–3) based on the degree of lateral head bending or cervical rotation. The difference (SCM-D) and ratio (SCM-R) between the maximal thickness of the affected and non-affected SCMs were obtained using transverse and longitudinal ultrasonography. The sonographic echotexture and echogenicity of the involved SCM were reviewed. Results: A significant difference was observed in the SCM-D (0.42 ± 0.30 mm in group 1; 0.74 ± 0.50 mm in group 2; 1.14 ± 0.85 mm in group 3; p = 0.002) and SCM-R (1.069 ± 0.067 in group 1; 1.129 ± 0.087 in group 2; 1.204 ± 0.150 in group 3; p = 0.001) among the groups when measured along the longitudinal but not along the transverse ultrasonography plane. The areas under the curves of the SCM-R and SCM-D measured by longitudinal ultrasonography were 0.731 (p < 0.001) and 0.731 (p < 0.001) for group 1 versus groups 2–3. The proportions of heterogeneous echotexture or hyperechogenicity in the involved SCM did not differ significantly among the three clinical groups (all p > 0.05). Conclusion: Ultrasonography can aid in assessing the clinical severity of CMT in infants without an SCM mass at the time of initial diagnosis. The SCM-R and SCM-D helped grade the clinical severity when obtained by longitudinal scan.

        Effect of co-administration of atelocollagen and hyaluronic acid on rotator cuff healing

        Background: This study aimed to evaluate the co-administration effect of atelocollagen combined with hyaluronic acid (HA) injections for treatment of full-thickness rotator cuff tear (RCT). Methods: Eighty patients who underwent arthroscopic rotator cuff repair for full-thickness RCT from March 2018 to November 2019 were enrolled. The patients were randomly allocated to the following groups: combined atelocollagen and HA injection (group I, n=28), only HA injection (group II, n=26), and no injection (group III, n=26). Clinical outcomes were assessed at 3, 6, and 12 months after surgery using the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score, visual analog scale pain score, functional scores (pain visual analog scale, function visual analog score), and range of motion. Magnetic resonance imaging was performed 12 months after surgery to evaluate rotator cuff integrity. Results: Preoperative demographic data and postoperative clinical outcomes did not differ significantly among the three groups (p>0.05). However, in group I, the number of steroid injections after surgery was significantly lower than that in the other groups (p=0.011). The retear rate on follow-up magnetic resonance imaging was significantly higher in group II (9.5%, n=2) and group III (13.6%, n=3) than in group I (0%) (p=0.021). Conclusions: Co-administration of atelocollagen and HA improves healing of the rotator cuff and increases the integrity of the rotator cuff repair site. This study provides encouraging evidence for use of combined atelocollagen-HA injections to treat patients with full-thickness RCT.

        닥섬유사 흡수량과 염색 불균일의 상관관계에 관한 통계적 평가

        In this study, the correlation between the uneven dyeing and absorption of mulberry fibers was investigated by an effective vertical strip test. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of uneven dyeing on the difference between the absorption of mulberry fibers. The samples, tape yarns with a width of 1.5 mm, were subjected to the vertical strip test; subsequently, they were subjected to statistical analysis to estimate the evaluation of the test method. The morphology and chemical composition of the samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The statistical results confirmed that a strong correlation existed between the absorption and uneven dyeing of mulberry fibers ($F_o=1.849$, P=0.0012).

        규소화 PU/POSS 나노섬유 매트의 물성

        A polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) macromonomer with the cage structure of $Si_8O_{12}$ consists of an inorganic silicon and oxygen core surrounded by organic groups on the corners. In this study, POSS was blended with polyurethane and electrospun to produce organic/inorganic hybrid nanofibrous mats. Silica was formed on the nanofibers after exposing the nanofibrous mats to silicic acid under ambient conditions. Structural characterization was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The morphological difference resulted from the condition of water evaporation and the hybrid with and without the POSS after silicification. The thermal behavior was examined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). These 3D inorganic-organic hybrids have potential applications as templates for photonic materials, novel membranes, and scaffolds for hard tissue.

        High-Resolution Finger MRI: What Should You Look for in Trauma of the Fingers?

        The fingers are among the most commonly injured structures in traumatic injuries resulting from sports and work. Finger injuries encompass a broad spectrum of injuries to bone and soft tissues, including tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. The high resolution of 3T MRI with dedicated surface coils allows for optimal assessment of the intricate soft tissue structures of the fingers. There have been several reports on detailed MRI features of the basic anatomy and common pathological findings of the finger and hand. Understanding the normal anatomy and familiarization with common traumatic lesions of the ligaments, tendons, and pulleys of the fingers on high-resolution MRI will allow radiologists to perform accurate preoperative evaluations of traumatic hand lesions. The purpose of this study is to review the normal hand anatomy and common traumatic lesions of the finger on high-resolution MRI and correlate them with surgical findings.

        The effects of surfactant on electrospinnability and wettability of electrospun PLGA nonwoven mats were investigated. For PLGA, a mixtured solvent of tetrahydrofuran (THF) and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) was used to dissolve the polymer. Sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS), a surfactant, was added to PLGA solution for electrospinning. The water absorption capacity of resulting fibers increased as the content of surfactant increased.
