        This work was conducted to study the distribution of velocity field in the inlet region of evaporator for automobile HVAC(Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning). By experimental and numerical simulation method, we found out that the installation position of evaporator in cool air blowing system had optimal value. Also, the porous media assumption of evaporator in computational domain assured to valid when compared with experimental results. Finally, the diffusing scroll which proved to be very efficient and silent by experimentally.

      • 수중운동 프로그램이 뇌성마비아의 체력에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 수중운동 프로그램이 뇌성마비아들의 체력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 뇌성마비학생 5명에게 12주 동안 수중운동 프로그램윤 적용하여 뇌성마비학생들의 근력,근 지구력,유연성,민첩성,평형성 등의 변인들을 측정 분석한 결과 근력인 악력,근 지구력인 윗몸 일으키기,민첩성인 왕복달리기,유연성인 체전굴,평형성인 한발로 서기에 긍정적인 변화가 있었다. 이상과 같은 연구 결과를 동하여 볼 때 수중운동은 체력 요인에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳐 체력 향상 및 건강증진에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다. The purpose of this study were to evaluate the effect of aquatic exercise on body composition, pulmonary function and physical fitness. The subjects for this study were five spasticity cerebral palsy(18 - 20 years). The aquatic exercise program consisted of 11 item, and performed for 30-40mins in a bout, 3 times a week at the intensity of HRmax(40-65%) for 12 weeks. And the change of body weight, %fat, fat mass, vital capacity, hand grip, sit-ups, trunk flexion, closed eyes foot balance and shuttle-run have been measured in baseline, post 4, 8 and 12 weeks respectively. The following results were obtained from this study. Hand grip(2-4kg), sit-ups(5-8 bouts), trunk flexion (1 -4cm) and closed eyes foot balance(O.25-2.43sec) were increased after individually aquatic exercise for 12 weeks respectively. And, shuttle-run(O.37 - 0.9secl was decreased after aquatic exercise. These results suggest that aqustic exercise for 12 weeks affects on body composition, pulmonary function and physical fitness to the spasticity cerebral palsy. On the other hand, long term regular aquatic exercise programs are applicable to the spasticity cerebral palsy with abnormal movement in safety through the re-composition of exercise intensity and mode.

        전국 응급의학과 수련병원의 응급실 병력지에 대한 분석

        Background: This study was designed to analyze the current emergency department(ED) medical records of teaching hospitals in Korea. Methods: The five-item questionnaires were mailed to the EDs of 40 hospitals. Among them, 27 questionnaires and 35 ED medical records were returned for reply rates of 67.5% and 87.5%, respectively. Results: 1) The actual number of data elements in the ED medical records used by each hospital varies widely. It ranges from 1 to 15 data elements with an average of 7.5 data elements. 2) Thirteen data elements, signature of nurse, checklist style in review of systems, checklist style in physical examination, neurologic examination, figure of face, Glasgow coma scale, trauma scale, treatment plan, mode of transfer, condition on transfer, documents sent with patient, condition on discharge or discharge instruction, use of pediatric chart and vaccination history are used by less than 50% of the medical records examined. 3) There was no difference in the total number of data elements or in redesign and computerization of ED medical record based on the location of the hospital, the type of hospital administration, or the number of years since the start of EM residency program. 4) There was a statistically increased number of data elements in redesigned medical records. 5) In the survey, 89% of the residents replied that medical records needed to be redesigned. With respect to uniformity, 58% of the residents disagreed. A well-designed checklist chart rather than a descriptive chart was preferred by 89% of the residents. Conclusion: The currently used ED medical records have much room for improvement. The age of the ED had little impact on the quality of ED medical records. More attention and effort in this field are needed. In addition, The Korean Society of Emergency Medicine should provide guidelines for ED medical records.

        응집공정에 적합한 In-Line 정적혼화기를 이용한 혼화공정의 개선

        The rapid mixing process for coagulation is a critical component in a water treatment plant. However, at the present time a detailed understanding of the rapid mixing by in-line mixer or generally accepted criteria for the design of in-line static mixer are not available. The aim of this work is therefore to improve the understanding of how the in-line static mixer works and how to better utilize it in coagulation process in water treatment. To investigate the performance of static mixer, coagulation experiments were conducted to compare the static mixer to the traditional backmixer under several coagulation conditions. Experiments were also performed to compare the coagulation efficiency of different mixing type of static mixer which were made using different flow rates and the number of elements equipped in a pipe. The static mixer performed better than the backmixer for all coagulation and mixing conditions tested. Especially, the static mixer was very effective in the surface charge neutralization, as showing higher reduction of negative charge with increasing mixing intensity. However, little difference was observed in the performance of the static mixer equipped with 2, 3, and 5 elements. Also, in a series of bench-scale studies of rapid mixing, the in-line static mixer performed better than the traditional backmixer for both adsorption and charge neutralization (A/N) mechanism and sweep coagulation mechanisms. Especially, the static mixer was more efficient at producing A/N mechanism conditions as a result of its fast and uniform dispersion of the coagulant.

        초음파현미경의 고주파 초음파 탐촉자를 이용한 코발트기 초내열합금강의 열화평가

        V(z)곡선법을 이용한 코발트기 초내열합금강의 열화도 평가 유용성 유무를 고주파 초음파 탐촉자를 이용하여 실험적으로 검증 하였다. 코발트기 초내열 합금이 고온에서 장시간 노출되었을 때 일어나는 미세조직의 변화를 모사하기 위해서 인공열화를 실시하였다. 여로하에 미치는 초음파 음속의 영향을 고찰하고자 10MHz를 이용하여 펄스-에코법으로 종파의 음속을 측정하고 200MHz를 사용하여 V(z)곡선법으로 누설턴성표면파의 음속을 측정하였다. 두 초음파의 음속은 열화시간에 따라서 감소 하였다. 더욱이, 저주파수 종파의 음속변화는 거의 없었지만, 고주파수 누설탄성표면파의 음속변화는 열화시간에 따라서 최대 4.7%의 변화를 나타내었다. 열화에 따른 강도의 변화와 누설탄성표면파의 음속 변화는 양호한 상관관계를 나타내었다. 따라서 열화도 평가에 고주파 탐촉자를 이용한 초음파 현미경의 V(z)곡선법이 유용함을 알 수 있었다. The feasibility of V(z) curve method of scanning acoustic microscope using high frequency transducer was experimentally studied for assessment of the thermal degradation in Co-based superalloy. Thermal degradation was performed to simulate the microstructural changes in Co-based superalloy arising trom long term exposure at high temperature. Longitudinal wave velocity measured by pulse echo method using 10MHz transducer and leaky surface acoustic wave (LSAW) velocity measured by V(z) curve method using 200MHz transducer were measured to investigate the effect on thermal degradation. Ultrasonic velocity decreased as the aging time increased in both ultrasonic waves. Moreover, the low frequency longitudinal wave velocity decreased a little. Otherwise, the high frequency LSAW velocity drastically decreased up to a maximum of 4.7% at the aging time of 4,000hours. A good correlation was found between LSAW and Vickers hardness. Consequently, V(z) curve method of SAM using high frequency transducer could be a potential tool for assessing thermal degradation.

      • 메탄올 농도에 따른 당유자 잎의 항산화, α-Glucosidase 억제활성 측정

        Backgrounds : Pomelo (Citrus grandis Osbeck) is the kind of citrus fruit which is Dicotyledoneae belongs to Rutaceae and special product in Jeju island. According to the previous researches, coumarin, eliocitrin, naringin are identified and these kinds of constituents revealed to be effective as anticancer, antioxidant, and antidiabetic. Until recently, there are many investigations about its functional properties were reported, but investigation about biological activities depend on extraction conditions are not sufficient. Methods and Results : 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity was performed by the method of Blois with minor modification. After adding DPPH radical to each sample solutions, the mixtures were incubated in 30 minutes at aphotic place. Then, the degree of scavenging activity was recorded by microplate reader at 490 nm. The scavenging activity was expressed by RC50, which is the concentration of sample solution necessitated to scavenge 50% DPPH radical against negative control. For α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, the method using p-nitrophenyl-α-D-glucopyranoside (pNPG) was applied. To each samples, α-glucosidase and pNPG were mixed and incubated, consequently, Na2CO3 was added to terminate the reaction. Finally, absorbance was read at 450 nm. The same as DPPH radical scavenging activity, the inhibition was explicitly expressed by the amount of sample solution to inhibit 50% α-glucosidase, IC50. The 80% MeOH extract demonstrated the highest radical scavenging activity with 74.32±8.45 μg/ml. α-Glucosidase inhibitory activity was carried out to evaluate the inhibitory activity of sugar digestion and absorption and 60, 80% MeOH extract exhibited 416.35±11.07 μg/ml and 336.57±2.03 μg/ml, respectively. Conclusion : The DPPH radical scavenging and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity were evaluated in this study. The highest DPPH radical scavenging activity was seen in 80% Citrus grandis Osbeck MeOH extract, following 60% MeOH extract exhibited the second highest scavenging activity. Also, 80% MeOH extract showed 336.57±2.03 μg/ml, which was the highest α-glucosidase inhibition among all extracts.

      • VEGF Gene Polymorphism is not Associated with Advanced Gastric Cancer Risk in Korean Populations

        Background/Aims: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) the key mediator of angiogenesis, also plays an important role in the progression of gastric cancer. VEGF over-expression is associated with advanced stage and poor survival in gastric cancer. Several studies suggested the association between VEGF polymorphism and risk of gastric cancer, but the results remained still inconclusive. We investigated to determine whether there is an association between the VEGF polymorphism and advanced gastric cancer in Korean population. Methods: The association of functional single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of the VEGF gene with stomach cancer development was evaluated in a case-control study. A total of 150 patients with advanced gastric cancer(stage III, IV) diagnosed at St. Vincent Hospital, Suwon,Catholic University of Korea, from January 2010 to January 2013 were enrolled in this study. The control group consisted of 433 individuals who were randomly selected through health screening with esophago-gastroduodenoscopy. Genotypes were determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) analysis. Results: In advanced gastric cancer, the genotype frequencies of VEGF-936 C>T polymorphism were 64.7% (CC type, 97/ 150), 32.0% (CT, 48/ 150) and 3.3% (TT, 5/ 150), respectively. C allelic frequency of VEGF gene was 80.7%, whereas T allelic frequency was 19.3%. Compared with the control group, there were no significant differences of specific genotype and allelic frequencies(p=0.88, p=0.58). Conclusions: VEGF gene -polymorphism is not associated with advanced gastric cancer risk in Korean populations.

        Case Report : A Rare Case of a Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma of the Colon Mimicking a Juvenile Polyp

        Primary signet ring cell carcinoma (SRC) of colon at early stage is quite rare. Only 26 cases were reported until now. We report an early stage of primary SRC which was misdiagnosed as a juvenile polyp and treated with polypectomy followed by surgical resection. A 21-year-old male was administered for hematochezia. Abdominopelvic enhanced computed tomography revealed a polyp with active bleeding at the proximal rectum just below the rectosigmoid junction. Colonoscopy examination revealed a colon polyp with 0.5 cm sized head. Polypectomy was performed with snare and the polyp was completely removed. Biopsy revealed SRC. Surgical resection was also performed and there were no residual tumor or lymph node metastasis in the surgical specimen. (Gut Liver 2012;6:129-131)
