Chitinases are glycosyl hydrolases which cleave the β- 1,4 linkage of chitin into oligo or monomers of N-acetylglucosamine. These bacterial enzymes have been used for a wide range of applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries. In this study, we isolated two potential chitinolytic strains, BAO-01 and BAO-02, from salt-fermented shrimp, which were shown to belong to the genus Salinivibrio through genetic characterization using 16S rRNA. These isolates were gram-positive, rod-shaped, and non-spore forming. BAO-01 showed greater growth and chitinase activity than BAO-02 after the incubation at 37 oC for 4 days. Both strains grew on a wide range of carbon and nitrogen sources, pH values, temperatures, and salt levels. However, they showed minor biochemical differences. In addition, their antimicrobial activities against foodborne pathogens and antibiotic susceptibilities were evaluated. These Salinivibrio spp. did not show bioamine production, hemolytic activity, and mucin degradation. Therefore, the in vitro screening results suggested that these bacteria could be widely used as new candidates for chitin hydrolyzation and seafood fermentation.

This study focused on the preparation and characterization of anti-wrinkle peptides from the salted and fermented shrimp (Acetes japonicus) inoculated with Salinivibrio cibaria BAO-01 (SFSC). The results showed the proximate composition of SFSC to be 9.23% water, 75.32% protein, 0.23% fat, and 13.3 mg/g ash. Interestingly, the S. cibaria fermentation significantly increased the amount of methionine, leucine, and arginine. The in vitro antioxidant activity was assayed by the diphenylpicrylhydrazyl method and its IC50 value was found to be 43.02±2.84 μg/mL. It was observed to inhibit the activity of elastase, tyrosinase, collagenase, and hyaluronidase. The IC50 values of SFSC were 182.75±12.38 μg/mL for anti-elastase activity, 186.78±7.95 μg/mL for anti-tyrosinase activity, 444.4±34.81 μg/mL for anti-collagenase activity, and 1447.95±28.92 μg/mL for anti-hyaluronidase activity. These results suggest that salted and fermented shrimp has strong potential for the development of nutricosmetic products.

The study aims to evaluate the impact of corporate social responsibility on customers’ repurchase intention in Vietnam’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. This study employs primary data surveyed from 417 Vietnamese consumers, and the sample is selected based on the willingness to participate in providing information. The results show corporate social responsibility’s positive impact on repurchase intention in the FMCG industry in the Vietnam market. There are three components of corporate social responsibility, including ethical responsibility, legal responsibility, and economic responsibility have a positive impact on repurchase intention. The economic responsibility component has the greatest effect on repurchase intention. There is not enough statistical basis for the philanthropic responsibility component of corporate social responsibility to recognize its impact on repurchase intention. The findings of this study suggest that companies dealing in the FMCG industry in Vietnam need to invest more in further developing their corporate social responsibility, it not only helps to improve their customer loyalty to businesses but also contributes to promoting the country’s economic and social development in a better and more sustainable direction.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and economic growth at the provincial level by using time-series data in Binh Dinh from 1997 to 2019. We applied the quantitative approaches Vector Autoregression (VAR) and Autoregressive Distributed Lags (ARDL) in the model, which includes economic growth, real foreign direct investment capital, ratio of trained workers, and infrastructure. The results show that all these variables are stationary at the first difference. In ARDL analysis, we found that the economic growth positively affects FDI attraction. However, there is no evidence of the effect of FDI on economic growth in the condition of low capital implemented. Moreover, findings also show that the impact of FDI on economic growth is influenced by two factors: infrastructure and human capital. The lack of human capital, which is trained personnel and infrastructure, is the main barrier hindering and inhibiting FDI’s contribution to local economic growth. In order to improve the efficiency of FDI on economic growth in the future, it is suggested that the Binh Dinh government should have proper policies in terms of the infrastructure, the human capital investment. They would allow Binh Dinh to enhance the capital absorptive capacity and capital efficiency.

Lactobacillus strains have been considered good candidates as biological control agents for prevention or treatment of plant and animal infections. One L. plantarum strain FB003 and three strains (FB011, FB081, and FB110) which closed to L. sakei were isolated from fermented and salted shrimp and their abilities in inhibiting growth of Vibrio parahaemolyticus were characterized. These strains were selected as potential probiotics based on their oro-gastro-intestinal resistance, gut colonization, adhesion to Caco-2 cells, antimicrobial activities, antibiotic resistance, and safety aspects. Results of this study revealed that these isolates possessed high aggregation activities against pathogens in host intestines. Strain FB011 strain showed higher coaggregation and immunomodulatory activity in the gastro-intestinal tract than L. plantarum. These difference effects of Lactobacillus strains provide valuable information about using them to prevent Vibrio infections in the aquaculture industry.
Design of a Sliding Mode Controller with Fuzzy Rules for a 4-DoF Service Robot
Le Bao,Dongeon Kim,이승준,Jangmyung Lee 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.8
In this study, a novel control strategy that combines a fuzzy system and the sliding mode controller is proposed for improving stability and achieving high-accuracy control in service robots. Based on the kinematic and dynamic models of a 4-degrees of freedom manipulator, and the observed tracking error using a low-cost inertial sensor, the proposed fuzzy sliding mode controller (FSMC(IMU)) is designed to generate appropriate torques at robot joints. The FSMC(IMU) controller parameters are adjusted through a fuzzy rule that determines the state ofthe system. The error in trajectory tracking is reduced through this. The gain value K can be finely adjusted by fuzzy control by observing the degree of vibration after entering the sliding mode surface. The larger the observed vibration value, the faster the fuzzy controller follows the given input trajectory by selecting a smaller gain value K and reducing jitter due to the sliding mode control’s discontinuous switch characteristics. When the degree of error is small, it achieves faster and more accurate control performance than when the observer is not used. The stabilityof the FSMC(IMU) system is verified via disturbance experiments. The experimental data are compared with the conventional sliding mode controller and proportional-derivative control. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed FSMC(IMU) controller is stable, fast, and highly accurate in controlling service robots.
Intelligent Decision Support Algorithm for Uncertain Inventory Management
Le Ngoc Bao Long,Sam-Sang You,Truong Ngoc Cuong,Hwan-Seong Kim 한국항해항만학회 2023 한국항해항만학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2023 No.1
This paper discovers a robust managerial strategy for a stochastic inventory of perishable products, where the model experiences changing factors including inner parameters and an external disturbance with unknown form. An analytical solution for the optimization problem can be obtained by applying the Hamilton-Bellman-Jacobi equation, however the policy result cannot completely suppress the oscillation from the external disturbance. Therefore, an intelligent approach named Radial Basis Function Neural Networks is applied to estimate the unknown disturbance and provide a robust controller to manipulate the inventory level more effective. The final results show the outstanding performance of RBFNN controller, where both the estimation error and control error are guaranteed in the predefined limit.
