Abdullah Aziz,Olov Schelen,Ulf Bodin,Lukas Romer,Sven Erik Jeroschewski,Johannes Kristan 제어로봇시스템학회 2022 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2022 No.11
Eclipse Arrowhead is an open-source framework for industrial automation based on serviceoriented principles. It allows the creation of a highly flexible System of Systems (SoS) by defining local clouds for connecting application systems running on industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPSs). However, in an ICPS context, resource constraints and battery-powered devices are facing issues such as high energy consumption, poor service availability, and low-security capabilities. The concept of Digital Twins (DTs) as a proxy (DTaaP) has been defined to address these CPS challenges by providing valuable properties such as energy efficiency, availability, and security. In this paper, we propose a solution to empower the Eclipse Arrowhead Framework (EAF) with DTaaP. Specifically, the proposed solution introduces AHDitto, an Arrowhead-compliant supporting core system, enabling EAF to achieve three DTaaP properties by integrating Eclipse Ditto with EAF.

Background Mitochondria are major cellular sources of reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation which can induce mitochondrial DNA damage and lead to carcinogenesis. The mitochondrial 10398A>G alteration in NADH-dehydrogenase subunit 3 (ND3) can severely impair complex I, a key component of ROS production in the mitochondrial electron transport chain. Alteration in ND3 10398A>G has been reported to be linked with diverse neurodegenerative disorders and cancers. The aim of this study was to find out the association of mitochondrial ND3 10398A>G alteration in brain tumor of Malaysian patients. Methods Brain tumor tissues and corresponding blood specimens were obtained from 45 patients. The ND3 10398A>G alteration at target codon 114 was detected using the PCR-RFLP analysis and later was confirmed by DNA sequencing. Results Twenty-six (57.8%) patients showed ND3 10398A>G mutation in their tumor specimens, in which 26.9% of these mutations were heterozygous mutations. ND3 10398A>G mutation was not significantly correlated with age, gender, and histological tumor grade, however was found more frequently in intra-axial than in extra-axial tumors (62.5% vs. 46.2%, p< 0.01). Conclusion For the first time, we have been able to describe the occurrence of ND3 10398A >G mutations in a Malaysian brain tumor population. It can be concluded that mitochondrial ND3 10398A>G alteration is frequently present in brain tumors among Malaysian population and it shows an impact on the intra-axial tumors.

Purpose: Online shopping festivals have quickly become the newest trend in online shopping worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has led to marketing distribution channels that traditionally emphasized traditional techniques having turned to electronic commerce platforms. Although the pandemic scenario encourages online purchasing, other factors, such as the influence of participation intention to shop during the Online Shopping Festival, must also be considered. Research design, data and methodology: Multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis based on data from 121 respondents who are actively involved with online shopping activities in Klang Valley, Selangor. Results: The results of this study show that promotion categories and the perceived influence of mass participation have a significant influence on participation intention. Meanwhile, the perceived temptation of price promotion and perceived fun promotional activities did not significantly influence participation intention. Conclusions: Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature by using the Theory of Planned Behavior and Stimulus-Response models to explain the factors that drive participation intention for online shopping. In practice, this study attracts and encourages customers to shop during the festival day because various attractive promotions are offered by sellers in Malaysia
Study on tool wear mechanisms in milling laser sintered material
Abdullah Yassin,Takashi Ueda,Tatsuaki Furumoto,Mohd Sanusi Abdul Aziz,Ryutaro Tanaka,Akira Hosokawa 대한기계학회 2010 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.24 No.1
This paper investigates tool wear mechanisms of a ball end mill in cutting laser sintered material. Cutting edge temperature is measured by using a three-color pyrometer with an optical fiber. Bulk carbon steel JIS S55C is selected as the standard steel. Experimental results show that tool life in cutting sintered material is shorter than that in cutting JIS S55C. Observations by SEM show that adhesion of the work material and micro chipping are the main wear mechanisms in cutting sintered material. The corresponding cutting edge temperature shows a continuous increase as wear evolves with cutting time.
Discussions on partial isometries in Banach spaces and Banach algebras
Abdullah Alahmari,Mohamed Mabrouk,Mohamed Aziz Taoudi 대한수학회 2017 대한수학회보 Vol.54 No.2
The aim of this paper is twofold. Firstly, we introduce the concept of semi-partial isometry in a Banach algebra and carry out a comparison and a classification study for this concept. In particular, we show that in the context of $C^*$-algebras this concept coincides with the notion of partial isometry. Our results encompass several earlier ones concerning partial isometries in Hilbert spaces, Banach spaces and $C^*$-algebras. Finally, we study the notion of $(m, p)$-semi partial isometries.

This study develops and validates a comprehensive mechanism for evaluating the effect of zakat (obligatory alms-giving) on reducing poverty and attaining some of the prominent Sustainable Development Goals. The study unconventionally analyzes the effect of macrolevel data on microlevel data on district level of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Microlevel data are utilized from a renowned national survey, Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement Survey (PSLM) from which the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) has been computed, whereas the macrolevel data have been collected from Zakat & Usher Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Based on the nature of nested data set, we have used a multilevel model to counter intra-class correlation. The findings confirmed and validated that the novel aspect of the zakat negatively affects the multidimensional poverty and portray significant contribution in targeting several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Pakistan. Based on the empirical evidence, Zakat being as an obligatory arm which equips individuals to fulfill their necessities, this paper suggests necessary strategies toward zakat disbursement. The mechanism should be refined to stimulate economic growth and pursue SDGs via financial empowerment of less advantaged class of society by reducing poverty in developing countries like Pakistan. Moreover, the methodology adopted in the study opens doors for more enabling and conducive research practices in order to decompose the results and design policies accordingly.

The exploitation of fibre reinforced polymer composites, as external reinforcement is an evergreen and well-known technique for improving the structural performance of reinforced concrete structures. The demand to use FRP composites in the civil engineering industry is mainly due to its high strength, light weight, and stiffness. This paper exemplifies the shear strength of partially precracked reinforced concrete rectangular beams repaired with externally bonded Bi-Directional Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) Fabrics strips. All specimens were cast in the laboratory environment without any internal shear reinforcement. The test parameters were longitudinal tensile reinforcement, shear span to effective depth ratio, spacing of CFRP strips, and orientation of CFRP reinforcement. It mainly focuses on the shear capacity and modes of failure of the CFRP strengthened shear beams. Results have shown that the CFRP repaired beams attained a shear enhancement of 32% and 107.64% greater than the control beams. This study underscores that the CFRP strip technique significantly enhanced the shear capacity of precracked reinforced concrete rectangular beams without any internal shear reinforcement.

The adsorption of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from the gas stream in a fixed-bed reactor has been investigated using zinc oxide (10–30 wt% loading) impregnated on Na-A zeolite prepared from local kaolin. The adsorbents obtained were characterized by XRF, XRD, FTIR, nitrogen adsorption and SEM. Reductions of micropore surface area and micropore volume of Na-A zeolite were observed after modification with zinc oxide. H2S adsorption capacity was the highest, 15.75 mg S/g sorbent, when 20 wt% ZnO was loaded on Na-A zeolite. Reduction in adsorption capacity was observed when wt% ZnO increased above 20 wt%.

Background: Brain tumors, constituting one of the most deadly forms of cancer worldwide, result from the accumulation of multiple genetic and epigenetic alterations in genes and signaling pathways. Isocitrate dehydrogenase enzyme isoform 1 (IDH1) mutations are frequently identified in primary brain tumors and acute myeloid leukemia. Studies on IDH1 gene mutations have been extensively performed in various populations worldwide but not in Malaysia. This work was conducted to study the prevalence of IDH1 c.395G>A (R132H) hotspot mutations in a group of Malaysian patients with brain tumors in order to gain local data for the IDH1 mutation profile in our population. Methods: Mutation analysis of c.395G>A (R132H) of IDH1 was performed in 40 brain tumor specimens by the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method (PCR-RFLP) and then verified by direct sequencing. Associations between the IDH1 c.395G>A (R132H) mutation and clinicopathologic characteristics were also analyzed. Results: The IDH1 c.395G>A (R132H) mutation was detected in 14/40 patients (35%). A significant association was found with histological tumor types, but not with age, gender and race. Conclusions: IDH1 is frequently mutated and associated with histological subtypes in Malay brain tumors.

Oil-palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) is a waste matter that is abundantly generated from the oil palm industries. Natural fibers derived from this lignocellulosic biomass have the potential to be used as reinforcement material in polymer composites as a greener alternative to synthetic fibers. However, some treatment has to be done to overcome inherent disadvantages in natural fibers and further improve its properties. One such method to prepare the fibers for chemical modification is by alkalization. In this study the EFB fibers were immersed in sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution with concentrations and immersion times varied to 4, 8 and 12 w/v % and 6, 12, 24 and 48 h, respectively. The EFB fibers were characterized using FTIR, TGA, XRD, FE-SEM, diameter profiling and mechanical tests. Results from FTIR showed that the treated EFB have significant increment of intensity at 3335 cm-1 corresponding to -OH groups. Optimum treatment conditions for the EFB fibers were found at 4 w/v% NaOH and 24 h. Diameter profiling showed better uniformity in the treated EFB fibers with improved tensile properties.
