The objective of this study was to propose the best methodology for estimating soil organic carbon stocks during environmental assessment for development projects. We compared three methodologies which were developed by Korea Environment Corporation(2010), Korea Forest Research Institute (2006), and Jin-Hyun Jung (1998). We found that the methodology developed by Jin-Hyun Jung (1998) shows the worst performance and the methodology of Korea Forest Research Institute (2006) does not reflect a variety of soil types and land use characteristics shown in development project plans. Therefore, we propose that the methodology developed by Korea Environment Corporation (2010) is the most reasonable one because it is internationally accepted and used for local governments to make the inventory of greenhouse gases as well as to set up its reduction strategy.
설화그림카드를 활용한 자기성장 집단 문학치료 프로그램 사례연구 : <해와 달>그림카드를 중심으로

이 연구에서는 자기성장을 원하는 참여자들이 설화 <해와 달이 된 오누이>와 <해와 달이 된 오누이>설화 그림카드를 활용한 ‘다시쓰기’ 활동을 하고, 이를 집단 문학치료프로그램에서 나누는 과정을 통해 ‘부모로부터의 심리적 독립’을 탐색해볼 수 있도록 하였다. 설화 선정은 참여자들이 <해와 달이 된 오누이>에 대해 ‘부모로부터의 심리적 독립’의 이야기로 읽고 반응한다는 기존 연구를 근거로 이루어졌다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구 참여자 대부분은 자신이 부모에게 바라는 욕구에 대해 알아차릴 수 있었다. 둘째, 참여자들은 부모와의 관계를 탐색하거나 재조정해보는 통찰을 얻을 수 있었다. 셋째, 설화뿐 아니라, 제시된 설화 그림카드는 참여자들이 정서적 갈등을 투사하고 촉진하도록 도울 수 있었다. 넷째, ‘다시쓰기’ 전과 후, 설화 그림카드 작업들은 참여자들이 이야기의 방향과 줄거리, 주인공을 선정하는 데에도 효과적인 역할을 하였다. 문학치료에서 이야기를 재구성하는 과정이 자신의 내면을 탐색하는 데 있어 효과적이라는 것은 조은상의 이전 논문에서 검증된 결과이나, 설화 그림카드를 개발하여 활용하는 것은 아직 연구 중에 있다. 추후 지속적인 연구를 통해 설화 그림카드의 유용성과 효과성에 대한 검증이 이루어져야 하겠지만, 이 연구를 통해 설화 그림카드를 설화와 함께 사용하는 것이 참여자들이 내면에 있는 갈등을 투사하는 데에 효과적이고, 보다 명확히 자신의 내면을 표현할 수 있도록 도움을 주었음이 밝혀졌다는 점이 이 연구의 의의라 하겠다. In this study, participants wanting to mature, engaged in ‘re-writing’ activities using a folktale “The Brother and Sister Who Became the Sun and the Moon” and folktale picture cards <The Brother and Sister Who Became the Sun and the Moon>, and explored their psychological independence from their parents through sharing their stories in a group setting. This specific folktale was selected based on existing research where participants read and responded to “The Brother and Sister Who Became the Sun and the Moon” as a story of psychological independence from parents. The results of the study are as follows. Firstly, most of the participants in the study were able to recognize what they need from their parents. Secondly, participants were able to gain insights necessary for exploring or readjusting the relationship with their parents. Thirdly, the suggested folktale picture cards along with the folktale were useful for the participants to project and examine their emotional conflicts. Lastly, before and after re-writing activities, the folktale picture card work played an effective role in participants choosing the direction, plot, and protagonists of their stories. Even though the effectiveness of reconstructing stories in literary therapy to explore one’s inner self has been researched in previous studies, such as Cho Eun Sang’s papers, the topic of developing and utilizing folktale picture cards is still being explored. This study examined the ways in which using folktale picture cards in a literary therapy group helped participants project their inner conflicts and express themselves more clearly and effectively. This study also suggests that future studies will verify the usefulness and effectiveness of folktale picture cards.
Effect of Highly Pressurized Hydrogen Gas Charging on the Hydrogen Embrittlement of API X70 Steel

During the use of API X70 steel as a pipeline structural material for the transportation of natural gas,hydrogen embrittlement can occur due to the hydrogen contained in natural gas. The aim of this study is toinvestigate the effects of the hydrogen content under high-pressure hydrogen gas conditions on the hydrogenembrittlement of air-cooled API X70 steel. The air-cooled API X70 steel was manufactured by hot rollingand was then air-cooled to room temperature. Tensile test specimens were held for 0 h, 1000 h, and 2000 hwithin a pressure vessel filled with 100% hydrogen gas at a gas pressure of 10 MPa, with the tensile teststhen performed at room temperature. The microstructure of the API X70 steel consists of coarse polygonalferrite, coarse pearlite, and fine acicular ferrite. The yield and tensile strength increased and elongationdecreased considerably after a holding time of 2000 h compared to those of 0 h and 1000 h within the pressurevessel. The morphology of the fracture surface changed from ductile to brittle upon hydrogen gas charging. Secondary cracks were observed in both of the hydrogen-gas-charged specimens. No external cracks wereformed on the surface of the tensile-tested specimen with a 0 h holding time; however, many external crackswere observed on the specimen surface subjected to hydrogen gas charging.
Experience of treatment of patients with granulomatous lobular mastitis

Purpose: To present the author’s experience with various treatment methods of granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM) and to determine effective treatment methods of GLM. Methods: Fifty patients who were diagnosed with GLM were classified into five groups based on the initial treatment methods they underwent, which included observation (n = 8), antibiotics (n = 3), steroid (n = 13), drainage (n = 14), and surgical excision (n = 12). The treatment processes in each group were examined and their clinical characteristics, treatment processes, and results were analyzed respectively. Results: Success rates with each initial treatment were observation, 87.5%; antibiotics, 33.3%; steroids, 30.8%; drainage, 28.6%; and surgical excision, 91.7%. In most cases of observation, the lesions were small and the symptoms were mild. A total of 23 patients underwent surgical excision during treatment. Surgical excision showed particularly fast recovery, high success rate (90.3%) and low recurrence rate (8.7%). Conclusion: The clinical course of GLM is complex and the outcome of each treatment type are variable. Surgery may play an important role when a lesion is determined to be mass-forming or appears localized as an abscess pocket during breast examination or imaging study.

In this pater we study the continuity of rotation numbers of liftings of circle maps with degree one. And apply our result to prove that a positively equicontinuous flow of homeomorphisms on the circle $S^1$ is topologically conjugate to a continuous flow of rotation maps.
Synchronous triple primary cancers occurring in the stomach, kidney, and thyroid

We report an unusual case of synchronous triple primary cancer of the stomach, kidney, and thyroid in a 50-year-old male patient. Initial esophagogastroduodenoscopy with biopsy for the medical check-up revealed poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. We performed an abdominal/pelvic computed tomography scan for staging and incidentally found a 1.7-cm exophytic hypervascular mass in the left kidney. Thyroid ultrasonography showed suspicious malignant nodules suspicious with multiple lymph nodes (LNs) metastasis in the right side of the neck. Subsequent fine needle aspiration biopsy of a nodule and a LN was performed. Cytologic report revealed papillary thyroid carcinoma with lateral LNs metastasis. Our integrate oncology team performed radical subtotal gastrectomy, partial nephrectomy, and total thyroidectomy with modified radical neck dissection. The postoperative pathologic finding was well-differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma (T1N0M0; stage 1A), renal cell carcinoma (T1aN0M0; stage 1), and papillary thyroid carcinoma (T4bN1bM0; stage 4B). He received postoperative a radio-active iodine ablation and is doing well with no recurrence.
Output Feedback Dynamic Surface Control of Flexible-Joint Robots

A new output feedback controller design approach for flexible-joint (FJ) robots via the observer dynamic surface design technique is presented. The proposed approach only requires the feedback of position states. We first design an observer to estimate the link and actuator velocity information. Then, the link position tracking controller using the observer dynamic surface design procedure is developed. Therefore, the proposed controller can be simpler than the observer backstepping controller. From the Lyapunov stability analysis, it is shown that all signals in a closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded. Finally, the simulation results of a three-link FJ robot are presented to validate the good position tracking performance of the proposed control system.

This paper presents a robust control method via the intelligent adaptive backstepping design technique for stable walking of nine-link biped robots with unknown model uncertainties and external disturbances. In our control structure, the self recurrent wavelet neural network (SRWNN) which has the information storage ability is used to observe the uncertainties of the biped robots. The adaptation laws for all weights of the SRWNN are induced from the Lyapunov stability theorem, which are used for on-line controlling biped robots. Also, we prove that all signals in the closed-loop adaptive system are uniformly ultimately bounded. Through computer simulations of a nine-link biped robot with model uncertainties and external disturbances, we illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control system.
