A Cost-Effective Dynamic Redundant Bitonic Sorting Network for ATM Switching

This paper proposes a new fault-tolerant technique for bitonic sorting networks which can be used for designing ATM switches based on Batcher-Banyan network. The main goal in this paper is to design a cost-effective fault-tolerant bitonic sorting network. In order to recover a fault, additional comparison elements and additional links are used. A Dynamic Redundant Bitonic Sorting (DRBS) network is based on the Dynamic Redundant network and can be constructed with several different variations. The proposed fault-tolerant sorting network offers high fault-tolerance; low time delays; maintenance of cell sequence; simple routing; and regularity and modularity.
대규모 웹 지리정보시스템을 위한 메모리 상주 공간 데이터베이스 클러스터

웹을 통해 위치기반 서비스 등과 같은 다양한 지리정보 서비스를 사용하려는 사용자가 급격하게 증가하면서, 웹 지리정보시스템도 많은 다른 인터넷 정보시스템들과 같이 클러스터 기반 아키텍쳐로의 변화가 요구되고 있다. 즉, 사용자의 수에 상관없이 양질의 지리정보 서비스를 지속적이며 빠르게 제공하기 위해서는 비용대비 효율, 가용성과 확장성이 높은 클러스터 기반의 웹 지리정보시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 가용성과 확장성이 높은 클러스터 기반의 웹 지리정보시스템을 설계한다. 이를 위해 메모리 상주 공간 데이터베이스들을 클러스터의 각 노드로 구성하고 전체 데이터 영역 중 일부만을 복제 처리함으로써, 각 노드가 공간 질의에 대해 공간적 근접성을 이용한 캐시 역할을 수행하도록 한다. 또한, 제안된 시스템은 단순 영역 질의외에 연산 비용이 큰 공간 조인 연산을 효율적으로 처리한다. 본 논문에서는 성능평가를 통해 제안된 기법이 기존 기법에 비해 데이터 양이 많고, 클러스터의 노드 수가 증가할수록 각각 약 23%, 30%의 향상된 성능을 갖음을 보인다. With the rapid growth of the Internet geographic information services through the WWW such as a location-based service and so on. Web GISs (Geographic Information Systems) have also come to be a cluster-based architecture like most other information systems. That is, in order to guarntee high quality of geographic information service without regard to the rapid growth of the number of users, web GISs need cluster-based architecture that will be cost-effective and have high availability and scalability. This paper proposes the design of the cluster-based web GIS with high availability and scalability. For this, each node within a cluster-based web GIS consists of main memory spatial databases which accomplish role of caching by using data declustering and the locality of spatial query. Not only simple region queries but also the proposed system processed spatial join queries effectively. Compare to the existing method. Parallel R-tree spatial join for a shared-Nothing architecture, the result of simulation experiments represents that the proposed spatial join method achieves improvement of performance respectively 23% and 30% as data quantity and nodes of cluster become large.

Between July, 19S4. and July, 1987, 9 two-stage repair of symptomatic tetralogy of Fallot were carried out at the department of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, Kyungpook national university hospital. Their age ranged from 5 years to 18 years [mean age 9.4 years] at the time of total correction, and there were improvement of systemic oxygen saturation values by 10% and decrease of hemoglobin by 1.6gm/dl after shunt procedures. The interval between the initial shunting procedure and total correction ranged for 7 to 101 months with a mean of 32.7 months. Four of these patients required patching of the infundibulum alone, three required patching of the right ventricular outflow tract across the pulmonary annulus, and valved conduit was used in one due to coronary artery anomaly. Aortic cross clamping time averaged 122.2minutes [range from 60minutes to 150minutes], and cardiopulmonary bypass time averaged 174.4 minutes [range from 80minutes to 300minutes]. The operative mortality rate was 22% [2/9].

Perforated esophagus is a surgical emergency; it is the most serious and frequently the most rapidly lethal perforation of the gastrointestinal tract. Contamination of the mediastinum and often a pleural cavity with corrosive fluids, food material and bacteria leads to cardiorespiratory embarrassment, shock, major fluid losses and fulminating infection. Despite the improved diagnostic and treatment modalities, a perforation or leak from the esophagus remains a major source of morbidity and mortality. When esophageal perforation occurs, a successful outcome can be expected only when it is diagnosed soon after the event and repaired early. Esophageal perforations have a poor prognosis after delayed surgical treatment. With the use of the Thai onlay gastric patch method, a case of postemetic spontaneous perforation of the esophagus was successfully managed 6days after the event.
구기자나무(Lycium chinense Mill.) 접합자 배로부터 체세포배 및 부정아 발생

구기자나무의 접합배의 자엽절편을 MS 배지에 오옥신 (2,4-D, NAA, IAA)와 싸이토키닌 (zeatin, kinetin, BAP)를 단독 또는 조합처리하여 체세포배와 부정아를 유도하였다. 0.5 mg/L 2,4-D를 첨가한 배지에서 배발생능 캘러스를 유도되었고 이로부터 체세포배가 발생되었다. 반면에 부정아는 0.01 mg/L 2,4-D+0.5 mg/L zeatin을 조합한 배지에서 발생하였다. 접합자배의 여러 부위별로 배양한 결과 자엽 절편이 가장 높은 형태형성을 보였으며, 기관형성은 자엽>유근>배축>배 전체 순이었다. 해부학적으로 관찰한 결과 심장형배를 관찰할 수 있었고 정단분열조직과 부정아를 확인할 수 있었다. Somatic embryos or adventitious buds were formed from the segments of zygotic embryo of Lycium chinense Mill. on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with auxins (2,4-D, NAA, IAA) and / or cytokinins (zeatin, kinetin, BAP). Embryogenic callus formed on MS medium containing 0.5 mg/L 2,4-D and then differentiated into somatic embryos without transfer to hormone free medium. On the other hand, adventitious buds were formed on medium with 0.01 mg/L 2,4-D and 0.5 mg/L zeatin. Among various parts of zygotic embryos, the morphogenic potential was higher in the cotyledonary region, and the most organogenic potential was found in cotyledon followed by radicle, hypocotyl, and whole embryo. Histologically, bipolar structure of the heart-shaped embryos were confirmed and in adventitious buds only shoot apical meristems were found to exist.
