Solubility of nitrogen in liquid iron and iron-Ni-Cr alloys has been measured by the sampling method under 1 atm N₂pressure. Results obtained are as follows ; 1. Nitrogen solubility and free energy change of nitrogen solution in liquid iron melts respectively are, log (wt % N)= -357/T -1.152 ΔG˚= 6830+22.06T J/g-atom N 2. Enthalpy change in liquid Fe-8%Ni-Cr alloys is, ΔH = 11060-2.33(wt % Cr) J/g-atom N 3. Interaction parameter in Fe-8%Ni-Cr alloy is e = -128/T+0.031

Interior design is intricate, as the designer should consider numerous design elements such as circulation, spatial composition, and energy efficiency. The complex interior design process involves both divergent and convergent thinking. In divergent design thinking, designers use micro- and macrostrategies. If we can identify a designer’s strategies in the design process, we can support the designers in diversifying and embodying their design ideas. Therefore, we propose a novel method that automatically detects idea divergence strategies of interior designers. To achieve this, we developed a floor plan retrieval system and conducted a user study with interior designers to analyze their design processes. The design exploration process of the designers was analyzed to detect their microand macrodivergence strategies and the point of transition between the two strategies. The user study results revealed that the explored floor plans had different design patterns depending on the micro- and macrodivergence strategies. Our study can enhance the understanding of automatically detecting the designer’s design intention and aid the design decision-making process in the future.

For the restaurant business, the menu is the heart of the business and it is a communicating and selling tool that determines the success or failure of the business. Accordingly, food service managers and scholars have shown interest in evaluating menu items and a variety of menu analysis methods have been proposed. In this study, several menu analysis techniques were adopted to analyze menus of a Japanese fusion restaurant. Specifically, classical techniques suggested by Miller, Kasavana & Smith, Pavesic were utilized. Hayes & Huffman’s goal-value analysis which aims to overcome shortcomings of classical techniques was also used. Finally, the results were compared to the result of ABC menu analysis method. Surprisingly, almost the same results were obtained when comparing the comprehensive menu analysis results with the ABC analysis results. This implies the usefulness of ABC menu analysis considering the simplicity of the method. In other words, the findings showed that customer preference rather than profitability drives menu performance, which indicates fierce competition in Korean food service market.
