We investigated different moisture barrier layers, including inorganic Al2O3 films and six multilayer (dyad) barriers combined with an organic parylene C polymer. These dyads with varying thicknesses (i.e., 1-dyad, 2-dyad, and 3-dyad) were prepared on a polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) substrate. A single Al2O3 film on a PEN with an optimal thickness of 70 nm effectively acted as a moisture barrier. The measured water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) was 9.64 × 10−2 g/m2/day. Furthermore, a 2-dyad barrier, comprising an Al2O3 layer (70 nm) paired with parylene (700 nm), exhibited an even lower WVTR of 2.01 × 10−4 g/m2/day. We employed a 2-dyad barrier to laminate a flexible photovoltaic (PV) cell and assessed its performance under damp heat conditions of 85 ∘C and 85 % relative humidity. After undergoing a damp heat test for 500 h, the PV module exhibited a light conversion efficiency of 18.25 %, which is only 2.8 % lower than that of the initial module. The 2-dyad barrier composed of Al2O3-parylene layers has been demonstrated to be highly effective in preventing moisture penetration. Thus, it is an excellent encapsulation layer for the fabrication of flexible solar modules.
화학용액법으로 제작한 ZnS 박막의 기판에 따른 성장 특성 연구

We fabricated Zns thin film by using a chemical bath deposition (CBD) method. In the CBD growth, we used ammonia with hydrazine hydrate (HH) as a complexing agent, and the amount of HH was changed with respect to the ammonia. The growth of ZnS thin film was prepared on sodalime glass(SLG), Mo on SLG, CIGS on (Mo/SLG). As HH was increased 0% to 17% from the Zns films on SLG, the bandgap energy was reduced from 3.65 eV to 3.58 eV. However, the composition ratio [S/Zn] was measured 0.50 - 0.65 that showed little relationship with HH. As HH content varied, ZnS crystal grain gradually increased with on both SLG and Mo/SLG substrates while it changed little on CIGS/Mo/SLG substrates,
서브마이크론 CIGS 태양전지를 위한 텍스쳐링 효과 연구

We studied the influence of surface texturing of an indium tin oxide (ITO) transparent conducting oxide(TCO) layer on the performance of Cu(In,Ga)Se2(CIGS) thin-film solar cells. Both dry and wet etching were carried out by using reactive ion etching(RIE) and the solution etchants, respectively. As ITO etching depth increased, the surface roughness was increased from 5.62 nm to 9.53 nm in each thickness of CIGS. However, surface reflectance showed little correlation with the surface roughness. The current-voltage measurements of the CIGS solar cells revealed that the open circuit voltage(VOC) and the short circuit current density(JSC) are nearly constant as a function of the surface roughness and the reflectance whereas the fill factor(FF) was decreased.

태양전지는 태양광을 직접 전기로 변환하는 반도체 소자이다. 태양전지는 효율과 신뢰성이 높은 동시에 저렴한 비용으로 생산할 수 있어야 경제성을 확보할 수 있다. 박막형 태양전지는 제조과정에 에너지가 적게 소요되므로 짧은 기간 내에 투자한 비용과 에너지를 회수할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 소재 비용도 대폭 줄일 수 있다. 국내에서는 아직 1세대 결정형 실리콘 태양전지 산업이 주류를 이루고 있으며 2세대 기술은 초기 단계에 있으나, 이와 유사한 공정을 사용하는 대면적 디스플레이 생산 설비 및 기술을 기반으로 협력 체제를 구축하여 연구개발을 촉진함으로써 빠른 시일 내에 차세대 태양광 발전 시장에서의 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
옥외 관측을 통한 EVA, POE PV모듈의 열화 연구

Using both EVA and POE encapsulants, we fabricated polycrystalline Si PV modules and performed a set of reliability tests of PID, DH, TC, and Complex prior to outdoor installation. The power output with temperatures and insolation as well as I-V characteristics had been monitored under outdoor environments for 18 months. In the entire period, the total power of 3,576 kWh from POE PV modules was observed larger than 3,449 kWh from EVA PV modules by 3.5%. All the PV modules showed a 5.6~9.2% drop in the conversion efficiency. As for the solar power generation, the PV modules performed through PID, TC test revealed distinct difference in between EVA and POE for which the POE PV module produced more power by +11.4% and +6.6%, respectively, as measured in the 18th month. In addition, POE was proved to protect better the solar cells under PID influence.

We have developed a single integrated wavelengh selection type - 8channel light source module. This module oscillates in 8 wavelengh at 200GHz(1.6nm) ITU channel intervals within the c-band (1530~1560nm), and can transmit at 1.25Gbps level.
