In a group-testing method, instead of testing a sample, for example, blood individually, a batch of samples are pooled and tested simultaneously. If the pooled test is positive (or defective), each sample is tested individually. However, if negative (or good), the test is terminated at one pooled test because all samples in the batch are negative. This paper considers a queueing system with a two-stage group-testing policy. Samples arrive at the system according to a Poisson process. The system has a single server which starts a two-stage group test in a batch whenever the number of samples in the system reaches exactly a predetermined size. In the first stage, samples are pooled and tested simultaneously. If the pooled test is negative, the test is terminated. However, if positive, the samples are divided into two equally sized subgroups and each subgroup is applied to a group test in the second stage, respectively. The server performs pooled tests and individual tests sequentially. The testing time of a sample and a batch follow general distributions, respectively. In this paper, we derive the steady-state probability generating function of the system size at an arbitrary time, applying a bulk queuing model. In addition, we present queuing performance metrics such as the offered load, output rate, allowable input rate, and mean waiting time. In numerical examples with various prevalence rates, we show that the second-stage group-testing system can be more efficient than a one-stage group-testing system or an individual-testing system in terms of the allowable input rates and the waiting time. The two-stage group-testing system considered in this paper is very simple, so it is expected to be applicable in the field of COVID-19.

열변색 스티커를 활용한 전기안전교육 탐구프로그램 개발 및 초등과학 수업에의 적용

In this study, we investigated the change in the composition of electricity in relation to the changes in the curriculum made to the elementary science textbook. As a result of investigating how elementary school teachers perceive electrical safety education, we found that electrical safety contents introduced in previous textbooks were not effective for learning, and that it was more effective to use experimental activities or multimedia data. To expand on this, we replaced wire with aluminum tapes and then attached thermochromic stickers to the surface of the tapes. If this line is short-circuited, then overcurrent flows; the temperature of the electric wire rises and the colors of the thermochromic stickers change, which means that the temperature to be observed rising so rapidly can cause a fire. As a result of applying this program to elementary sixth graders, as well as conducting a questionnaire survey, the students responded that the electrical safety education inquiry program using thermochromic stickers was more interesting and easier to understand short circuit than the electrical safety education contents presented in the textbooks. 본 연구에서는 교육과정 변천에 따라 초등 과학 교과서에 제시된 전기 관련 내용 구성의 변화를 분석하고, 초등 교사들의 전기안전교육에 관한 인식을 조사하였다. 초등 교사들은 역대 교과서에 도입된 전기안전 내용이 학습에 효과적이지 않으며, 실험활동이나 멀티미디어 자료의 활용이 더 효과적이라고 응답하였다. 이 조사 결과를 토대로 전기안전교육 탐구프로그램을 준비하였다. 전선을 알루미늄 테이프로 대체하고 이 알루미늄 테이프의 표면에 열변색스티커를 부착하였다. 이 회로를 단락시키면 과전류가 흐르게 되어 알루미늄 테이프의 온도가 상승하고 열변색스티커의 색이 바뀌게 된다. 이 현상을 통하여 전선에 과전류가 흐르면 전선의 온도가 급상승하여 화재의 원인이 되는 현상을 체험할 수 있는 프로그램으로 준비하였다. 이 프로그램을 초등 6학년 학생에게 적용하고 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 학생들은 열변색스티커를 활용한 전기안전교육 탐구프로그램이 교과서에 제시된 전기안전교육 내용보다 더 쉽고 재미있게 단락 현상을 이해할 수 있었다고 응답하였다.

그룹 검사를 이용한 효율적인 혈액 검사 절차에 대한 연구

혈액 검사를 통해 어떤 질병의 감염 여부를 확인하려 한다. g명의 혈액을 검사한다고 하자. g명을 개별적으로 검사하면 g번의 검사가 필요하다. 그러나 g명의 혈액을 섞어서 검사하는 방법도 가능하다. 이처럼 여러 개를 한꺼번에 검사하는 방법을 그룹 검사라고 한다. 본 논문에서는, 질병률이 알려진 경우에 대한 그룹 검사 방법 중에서 계층적 도프만 절차를 이용한다. 그리고 검사의 종속성 때문에 발생하는 단축효고를 고려한다. 이를 통해 개별 검사보다 매우 효율적인 혈액 검사 절차를 제안하겠다. 아울러 실제 상황에 쉽고 간단하게 적용할 수 있는 실용적인 방법을 제안한다. Suppose we have g itesm classified as defective or as nondefective. If we test each item separately, then g tests are required. However, it is possible to test a group of g items so as to detect whether at least one of them is defective, and to proceed to individual testing only if the presense of at least one defective item is indicated. The method is called Dorfman procedure. In this paper, we consider a variant of Dorfman procedure called a hierarchal dorfman procedure. We also consider the curtailment effect resulted from the dependency of the tests. We propose an efficient blood testing procedure. We also present ot heuristic rule of thumb which is simple and easily implementable.

한자어휘 교육을 위한 字義에 대한 이해

본고는 한자어휘 이해와 교육을 진행하는 데에 있어서 그 어휘를 구성하고 있는 漢字의 뜻에 대한 정확한 이해가 필요함을 강조하면서, 한자어휘 교육과 字義 이해의 상관성에 대해 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 주지하다시피 한자는 한자어휘 및 한문의 기본 요소가 되므로, 한자어휘 및 한문 교육을 원활히 수행하기 위해서는 한자에 대한 정확한 이해가 반드시 필요하다. 한자 이해를 통한 한자어휘 이해와 교육은 한문을 정확하게 해석하는데 필요할 뿐 아니라 올바른 국어 사용을 위해서도 반드시 필요하다. 본고에서는 한자 이해를 통한 한자어휘 교육의 방법으로 ‘字義(本義, 引申義, 假借義)에 대한 이해와 활용’을 제시하였다. 즉 한자의 字義를 本義, 引申義, 假借義로 나누어서 그 개념을 살펴보았으며, 이어서 字義 파악을 통해 어휘와 한문 문장을 이해하고 또 현대 국어의 어휘를 이해하는 사례에 대해 언급하였고, 마지막으로 字義 이해를 활용한 한자어휘 교육방법에서 고려해야할 사항에 대한 몇 가지 의견을 제시하였다. 본 연구 내용의 요지를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 한자의 字義 즉 本義, 引申義, 假借義를 정확하게 파악하는 것은 해당 한자가 쓰인 한자어휘를 이해하는 데에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 특히 한자어휘의 유래를 파악하거나 또는 한자어휘가 해당 의미를 가지게 된 이유를 파악하는 데에 유용하다. 한편 字義 이해를 통한 한자어휘 교육을 진행할 때에는 교육적인 효과를 우선적으로 고려하여 字義 분석을 활용해야 한다. This paper aims to examine relation between Sino-Korean words education and understanding the meaning of Chinese characters, stressing that the exact understanding of the meaning of Chinese characters composing relevant Sino-Korean words is necessary in order to effectively proceed with the understanding of and education in Sino-Korean words. The main body divided the meaning of Chinese characters into Original meaning(本義), Extended meaning(引申義), Borrowed meaning(假借義), and looked into the concepts. Subsequently, it referred to the cases of understanding Chinese writing and Sino-Korean words and cases of understanding of modern Korean vocabularies, through grasping the meaning of Chinese characters. Lastly, it proposed several opinions of the matters to be considered in Sino-Korean words education methods through understanding the meaning of Chinese characters. The gist of this paper is as follows: To exactly grasp the meaning of Chinese characters(that is, Original meaning, Extended meaning, Borrowed meaning) can be helpful to understanding Sino-Korean words including relevant Chinese characters. Especially, it is useful to understanding the history of Sino-Korean words. In the meantime, it is needed to analyze and utilize the meaning of Chinese characters in consideration of educational effects when proceeding with education in Sino-Korean words.

중국의 디지털 기술을 활용한 漢字 敎育

The purpose of this paper was to examine the current status of Chinese character education using digital technology in China and to understand its characteristics and implications. To this end, in the main body, digital dictionaries and electronic textbooks, Chinese character education software, Chinese character education videos, and the above three categories were examined. The characteristics and implications that can be confirmed through this are summarized as follows. First, in China, which uses Chinese characters as its native language characters, Chinese character education is conducted using various media using digital technology. This is thought to be the result of reflecting the high enthusiasm for education, the perception of domestic characters, and the perception of the advantages of using digital technology. Second, it can be evaluated that Chinese character education software and videos have generally accepted quite a lot of academic Chinese character research results. In addition, it can be positively evaluated that the hierarchization of Chinese character education is also in mind by setting the amount of learning by step and difficulty in Chinese character education software. Third, it seems that Chinese character education methods using more innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things have not yet emerged. However, it can be expected that innovative Chinese character education methods using more advanced digital technologies will be developed in the future. 본고는 중국의 디지털 기술을 활용한 한자 교육 현황을 살펴보고 그 특징과 시사점을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 본론에서는 디지털 사전과 전자 교과서, 한자 교육 소프트웨어, 한자 교육 동영상, 이상 3가지로 구분하여 그 내용을 검토해 보았으며, 이를 통해 확인할 수 있는 특징 및 시사점을 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 한자를 자국의 모국어 문자로 사용하고 있는 중국에서는 디지털 기술을 활용한 다양한 매체를 이용하여 한자 교육을 진행하고 있다. 이는 높은 교육열, 자국 문자 중시의 인식, 그리고 디지털 기술 활용의 장점에 대한 인식 등이 반영된 결과라고 생각된다. 둘째, 한자 교육 소프트웨어와 동영상 등에서 한자의 形ㆍ音ㆍ義를 다루거나 字源에 대한 설명을 진행하는 경우 대체로 한자학 연구 성과들을 상당히 많이 수용하였다고 평가할 수 있다. 또한 한자 교육 소프트웨어에서 단계별, 난이도별 학습량을 설정하여 한자 교육의 위계화를 염두에 두고 있다는 점도 긍정적으로 평가할 수 있다. 셋째, 인공지능이나 사물인터넷 등 더욱 혁신적인 기술을 활용한 한자 교육 방법은 아직 등장하지 않은 것으로 보인다. 하지만 최근 한문고전 표점ㆍ교감이나 漢詩 작시 등에 최신 인공지능 기술을 활용할 수 있다는 점을 고려해 보면, 앞으로 더 발전된 디지털 기술을 활용한 획기적인 한자 교육 방법이 개발될 수 있을 것으로 기대할 수 있다.
