Recently, as a means of recruiting new students, campus maps of diverse style are produced and utilized, together with functional activities of university facilities and information within the campus. Unlike text-based contents, a map can enhance the value of information that a user wants to obtain. The purpose of the present study is to examine the sensitivity that the students actually feel about their campus and utilize it in the production of student participation-type campus map through an analysis of the survey result that was obtained from the students and the coloring experiment of the outlines of the produced map. In recent years, most of the universities provide their campus information using images, and thanks to the development of graphic and Internet technologies, map service that utilizes multimedia and 3-D representation is increasing. The elements that are represented in a plane map consist of significant and promised symbols, but overly realistic graphic elements of the map can give unwittingly a sense of confusion as they are toodetailed and contain unnecessary information. This is especially so in the case of 3-D map that employs both realistic representation and symbolic representation. But the fact is, the information on the map looks as if they are nicely displayed rather than they are made based on the experience of students who actually live in the space called campus. Also, as the tendency of the users’to obtain information becomes more individualized, they prefer information that are diverse and more concrete. Therefore, we have produced a campus map utilizing a new type of multimedia that complemented shortcomings of the existing map service, and examined the difference in their recognition of the outline images of the graphic elements that are contained in the newly produced map between the elements on the map or landmarks and the actual elements that are based on the users’experience through coloring. As a result, we have discovered that the map was not just an object to look at but an object that can be compared with what they knew on the basis of their experience. It also turned out that, on the map as a whole, the users tended to classify information that has more relationship with themselves preferentially.

Recently, we have faced fundamental changes in the telecommunications industry. The service develops from voice to multimedia data that merge telecommunication and broadcasting applications. The networks evolve from circuit networks to All-IP networks that unify existing networks with IP protocols. The Korean government has also presented new regulation policies in retail, wholesale, and spectrum allocation. As a result, these trends are affecting costs profoundly. We investigate recent changes in telecommunications and analyze its impact on interconnection prices. We propose directions for a new framework to set interconnection charges.

For the 2 years of farming, at the indoor circulating aquaculture system, four kinds of skeletal deformities were found among 60 Far Eastern catfish, Silurus asotus. Deformities saw jawbone’s luxation, abnormality of upper lip and malocclusion. Spinal deformity was most fatal deformities with low weight and small length. Jawbone’s luxation had 1 maxilla and 2 mandibles. Abnormality of upper lip had just lip was back over. Malocclusion’s left maxilla and right maxilla were not balanced. This experiment was any deformities in this species through the deformity can grasp how it affects.

As offices increasingly move into the center of large cities, office workers are short of time to focus on their tasks and unable to improve their efficiency due to commuting time, transportation cost and reduced working space. As a measure to solve such complex issues, 'smart office' is drawing attention in recent years. It is also needed to correctly understand the psychological effect of color and which color can improve efficiency. This study aims to investigate how color has an effect on emotional change to improve the efficiency of creative activities in smart office, using an experiment. The experiment was conducted using the Profile of Mood States (POMS) test: a portable form of color paper was placed on the table of office and a creative activity was performed using LEGO blocks. The colors used for the experiment were changed from white and blue to while, blue, green and grey. This study proposed a portable folding color pad to improve the work efficiency of smart office based on 2 experiments.

To understand the temporal variation of phytoplankton communities in a coastal area, the biomass and diversity were weekly investigated in the inner bay of Yeong-do, Busan. In the study area, chlorophyll a concentration ranged from 0.43~7.58 mg m-3 during the study, indicating the study area was in mesotrophic or eutrophic status. The fractions of chlorophyll a occupied by large phytoplankton (> 3 ㎛ diameter) exhibited an average of 80% of total chlorophyll a in this study. Among the large phytoplankton, while Bacillariophyta was the most dominant in spring and summer, Cryptophyceae prevailed in the fall and winter. On the contrary, in the picophytoplankton community less than 3 ㎛ in diameter, Mamiellophyceae was the most dominant in most seasons, Cryptophyceae was relatively high with an average of 17.7 ± 17.6% throughout the year, but seasonal variations were large. Dinophyceae rarely occupied a higher fraction up to 60.4% of the picophytoplankton community. By weekly monitoring at a coastal station for 13 months, it is suggested that phytoplankton communities in coastal waters could be changed on a short time scale. If data are steadily accumulated at the time-series monitoring site for a long time, these will provide important data for understanding the long-term dynamics of phytoplankton as well as the impact of climate and environmental changes.

This research presents an development of impact damper for reduction of vehicle vibration from road excitation. The structural vibrations are transferred through the vehicle body. The impact damper for reducing structural vibration from road excitation were designed and derived by using simplified numerical model. To analyze the characteristics of the impact damper, the vibration of simplified beam attached to impact damper was simulated. The damping ratios for different mass ratios of the impact dampers were calculated. The numerical results can be utilized to reduce the radiated noise from the electric vehicle.
