        초등학생이 지각한 학업성취압력의 변화 유형과 심리 · 정서적 및 인지적 특성과의 관계

        Objectives: This study identified the latent types of changes in academic pressure perceptions among elementary school students in fourth to sixth grade. Additionally, the study investigated the relation between these changes and psycho-emotional and cognitive characteristics. Methods: Data from the 11th-13th waves of the Panel Study of Korean Children (PSKC) were used for preliminary correlation and descriptive analyses in SPSS Windows software version 23. A three-step growth mixture model in Mplus was then employed to uncover differences in psycho-social characteristics associated with perceived academic pressure change types and variations in their cognitive characteristics. Results: Four types of perceived academic achievement pressure changes were identified among elementary school students: low-level steady increase, high-level steady decrease, low-level rapid increase, and high-level rapid decrease. These change types were associated with significant differences in psycho-emotional characteristics, such as academic stress, time use satisfaction, and self-esteem. Additionally, distinctive executive function difficulties were observed between the rapid increase and decrease of academic achievement pressure change types in elementary school students. Conclusion: The study confirmed distinct academic achievement pressure perceptions among elementary school students, emphasizing the roles of psycho-emotional factors (academic stress, time use satisfaction, and self-esteem) and cognitive factors (executive function difficulties) in understanding these variations. The study also discussed implications and proposed directions for future research.

        청소년의 휴대전화의존도, 우울의 변화 궤적 및 자기조절학습 능력 간의 구조적 관계

        The purpose of this study was to examine the longitudinal relationships between Korean adolescents'mobile phone dependency, trajectories of depression, and self-regulated learning abilities. To achieve these goals, structural equation modeling analysis was conducted, using the 3rd, 5th and 7th wave of the data on 4th graders taken from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey. The results can be summarized as follows. First, growth-curve longitudinal analysis indicates that depression in 6th through 10th grade has increased. Second, mobile phone dependency among adolescents at 6th grade has a significant effect on both the initial value and the rate of change in depression. Also, the initial value and the rate of change in depression have significant relationships with mobile phone dependency at 10th grade. Moreover, both increased levels of mobile phone dependency and the rate of change in depression significantly influence adolescents'self-regulated learning abilities at 10th grade. Based on a longitudinal data set, these findings demonstrate the causal relationships between Korean adolescents'trajectories of depression and their mobile phone dependency. The findings also provide a comprehensive framework with implications for adolescents'development through an understanding of the relationships between adolescents'depression and mobile phone dependency, which impact their self-regulated learning abilities.

        초기 청소년의 학업스트레스와 자아정체감의 관계: 부모 애착의 조절효과

        이 연구는 초기 청소년의 학업스트레스, 부모 애착 및 자아정체감의 관계를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널 12차 데이터에서 1,248가구의 자료를 활용하였다. 연구 변인의 기술통계치 및 상관관계를 확인하였으며, 초등학교 5학년의 학업스트레스와 자아정체감의 관계에서 아버지와 어머니 애착의 조절효과를 PROCESS MACRO를 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초기 청소년의 자아정체감은 학업스트레스 및 부모의 소외감과 부적 상관 관계를 보였고, 부모의 의사소통 및 신뢰감과는 정적 상관 관계를 보였다. 둘째, 초기 청소년의 학업스트레스와 자아정체감의 관계에서 아버지의 애착 중 신뢰감의 조절효과가 유의하였으며, 어머니의 애착은 의사소통, 소외감 및 신뢰감 모두 유의하였다. 이 연구는 초기 청소년을 대상으로 학업스트레스와 자아정체감의 관계에서 아버지와 어머니 애착의 역할을 각각 확인하고, 이를 근거로 시사점과 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 제시하고자 한다. This study aimed to investigate the relation between early adolescents’ academic stress, parental attachment, and self-identity using data from the 12th wave involving 1,248 households in the Panel Study on Korean Children. Preliminary analyses were conducted using descriptive statistics and correlation analyses. Moreover, the moderating effects of maternal and paternal attachment on the relation between early adolescents’academic stress and self-identity were examined using the SPSS Process macro, and considered early adolescents’ sex and household monthly income as covariates. The results are summarized as follows: First, early adolescents’self-identity was significantly associated with academic stress and the subscales of maternal and paternal attachment. Second, among the subscales of paternal attachment, trust significantly moderated the effect of early adolescents’academic stress on their self-identity, whereas communication and alienation did not. Third, all subscales of maternal attachment, communication, alienation, and trust showed significantly moderated effects between early adolescents’academic stress and their self-identity. Based on these findings, implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.

        학령초기 자녀를 둔 취업모의 일-가정 갈등의 변화 유형화 및 영향요인과 결과요인 검증

        이 연구는 학령초기 자녀를 둔 취업모의 일-가정 갈등의 변화를 유형화하고, 변화의 유형화에 미치는 영향요인과 변화 유형화에 따른 결과요인을 검증하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널 8, 9, 10차 데이터에서 취업중임을 보고한 459명의 어머니의 자료를 활용하여 성장혼합모형분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 취업모의 일-가정 갈등의 변화는 3개의 집단으로 구분되며, ‘급감소집단’, ‘하위유지집단’ 및 ‘완만한 증가집단’으로 명명하였다. 둘째, 양육스트레스, 우울, 부부갈등이 취업모의 일-가정 갈등 잠재집단에 각각 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 취업모의 일-가족 갈등 잠재집단 중 하위유지집단과 완만한 증가집단 간에 권위있는, 권위주의적 및 허용적 세 개의 양육행동에서 모두 유의한 차이가 있었다. 이는 학령초기 자녀를 둔 취업모의 일-가정 갈등 변화의 개인차를 확인한 결과이며, 취업모의 일과 가정의 양립을 지원하기 위한 필요성과 방향성을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study was to identify the typology of changes in work-family conflict among working mothers with an early school-age child and to examine their antecedents and consequences. Data from 459 working mothers who participated in the eighth, ninth, and tenth waves of the Panel Study on Korean Children were used. A growth mixture model was used to identify working mothers’ work-family conflict trajectories. The results can be summarized as follows. First, the changes in working mothers’ work-family conflict were categorized into three latent classes: a rapidly decreasing group, a low-level stable group, and a steadily increasing group. Second, among the antecedents, mothers’ parenting stress, depression and marital conflicts were significant determinants of the latent classes. Third, regarding working mothers’ authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive parenting behaviors according to changes in work-family conflict, group differences in all the parenting behaviors were suggested in between a low-level stable group and a steadily increasing group. These findings reveal differences in work-family conflict changes among working mothers, and have further implications regarding the necessity and direction of work-family balance support for such individuals.

        어머니가 지각한 일상에 미치는 코로나19 영향과 유아의 사회적 유능성의 관계: 어머니의 사회적 유대감과 양육스트레스의 순차매개효과

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on daily lives and their children’s social competence, as perceived by mothers, through sequential mediating effects of the mothers’ social connectedness and parenting stress.Methods: Participants were 315 mothers with children 3-5 years old in Korea. An online survey using a questionnaire was conducted and preliminary analyses were carried out as descriptive statistics using SPSS Statistics 22.0. Research models were examined by confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling, and bootstrapping analysis was conducted using Mplus 8.4 program.Results: The results revealed that the COVID-19 impact on daily life as perceived by mothers did not show a significant direct effect on their children’s social competence. However, it had a significant indirect effect on children’s social competence through the mothers’ parenting stress, but a nonsignificant effect through the mothers’ social connectedness. Additionally, it had an indirect effect on children’s social competence through sequential mediating effects of both, the mothers’ social connectedness and parenting stress.Conclusion: These findings empirically confirmed the relationships among the perceived impact of COVID-19, mothers’ social connectedness, parenting stress, and their children’s social competence. Furthermore, the results illustrated that high levels of COVID-19 impact on daily lives could lead to low levels of children’s social competence through the effects of mothers’ social connectedness and parenting stress, suggesting a comprehensive framework of social contextual and parenting socio-psychological factors to understand children’s social competence. Therefore, the findings could help to identify points of effective intervention for children’s social-emotional development within a context of mother-child relation in the current epidemic situations.

        Identification of Two New Races of Podosphaera xanthii Causing Powdery Mildew in Melon in South Korea

        Powdery mildew caused by the obligate biotrophic fungus Podosphaera xanthii poses a serious threat to melon (Cucumis melo L.) production worldwide. Frequent occurrences of the disease in different regions of South Korea hints at the potential existence of several races which need to be identified. The races of five isolates collected from different powdery mildew affected regions were identified based on the pathogenicity tests of these isolates on eight known differential melon cultigens namely, SCNU1154, PMR 45, WMR 29, PMR 5, MR-1, PI124112, Edisto 47 and PI414723. None of the isolates have shown same disease responses to those of the known races tested in this study and in previous reports on these identical differential melon cultigens. This indicates that the tested uncharacterized isolates are new races. Among the isolates, the isolates from Hadong, Buyeo, Yeongam and Gokseong have shown same pathogenicity indicating the possibility of these isolates being one new race, for which we propose the name ‘race KN1’. The isolate of Janghueng have also shown unique disease response in the tested differential melon cultigens and hence, we identified it as another new race with a proposed name ‘race KN2’. Report of these new races will be helpful in taking effective control measures in prevalent regions and for future breeding programs aimed at developing varieties that are resistant to these race(s).
