The content of salicylic acid (SA) and the expression of defense-related genes have been studied in the PAP-transgenic tobacco plants showing a broad-spectrum resistance to plant viruses. The synthesis of PR1 protein was correlated to the PAP level and the PR1 expression is dramatically increased in high PAP-expressors. Minor changes were observed in the levels of superoxide dismutase and ascorbate peroxidase, which are responsible for the conversion of reactive oxygen intermediates (ROIs) to stable oxygen. SA production does not seem to be associated with PAP, but the SA level in high PAP-expressors increased up to 2-3 folds. Results obtained from the high PAP-expressors are similar to those of hypersensitive responses (HR) occured in resistant plants, suggesting that the PAP-transgenic tobacco plants may confer the HR-related responses.
IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN의 실시간 음성 데이터 응용에 대한 적용 가능성 연구

Wireless sensor networking technology is one of the basic infrastructures for ubiquitous environment. It enables us to gather various sensory data such as temperature, humidity, gas leakage, and speed from the remote sensor devices. To support these networking functions, IEEE WPAN working group makes standards for PHY and MAC, while ZigBee Alliance defines the standards for the network, security, and applications. The low-rate WPAN was emerged to have the characteristics of network resilience, low cost, and low power consumption. It has a broad range of applications including, but not limit to industrial control and monitoring, home automation, disaster forecast and monitoring, health care. In order to provide more intelligent and robust services, users want voice-based solutions to accommodate to low-rate WPAN. In this paper, we have evaluated voice quality of an IEEE 802.15.4 standard compliant voice node. Specifically, it includes the design of a voice node and experiments based on the prediction of voice quality using the E-model suggested by ITU-T G.107, and the network communication mechanisms considering beacon-enabled and nonbeacon-enabled networks for real-time voice communications.
PAP-형질전환 담배식물에서의 방어기작 관련 유전자의 발현과 살리실산의 생성에 관한 연구

여러 바이러스에 대한 저항성을 나타내는 PAP-형질전환 담배에서 식물의 방어기작과 관련된 salicylic acid의 합성과 방어관련 유전자의 발현을 연구하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. Salicylic acid의 양과 PRI 단백질의 합성은 PAP의 발현과 상관하여 증가하였다. 2. ROIs를 분해하는 SOD와 APX는 합성은 큰 변화가 없었으나, PAP를 많이 발현하는 형질전환 담배의 경우 약간 증가함을 보여 주었다. 3. PAP의 발현과 방어기작에 관련된 salicyic acid의 합성 및 유전자의 발현의 결과는 PAP-형질전환 담배가 여러 바이러스에 대해 저항성을 나타내는 것은 PAP이외에도 방어관련 요인들이 복합적으로 작용했을 가능성이 있음을 시사한다. IEEE 802.15.4 비컨 가용 방식에 의한 실시간 음성 트래픽 성능 평가

IEEE 802.15.4 specification which defines low-rate wireless personal area network(LR-WPAN) has application to home or building automation, remote control and sensing, intelligent management, environmental monitoring, and so on. Recently, it has been considered as an alternative technology to provide multimedia services such as automation via voice recognition, wireless headset and wireless camera for surveillance. In order to evaluate capability of voice traffic on the IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN, we supposed two scenarios, voice traffic only and coexistence of voice and sensing traffic. For both cases we examined delay and packet loss rate in case of with and without acknowledgement, and various beacon period varying with beacon and superframe order values. In LR-WPAN with voice devices only, total 5 voice devices could be applicable and in the other case, i.e., coexisted cases of voice and sensor devices, a voice device was able to coexist with about 60 sensor devices.
양배추 자색관련 분자마커 개발을 위한 안토시아닌 합성관련 유전체 분석

양배추 엽색을 결정하는 주요한 요인은 안토시아닌의 합성 유무 또는 축적된 양의 차이에 기인한다. 양배추의 엽 색 관련 분자마커 개발을 위하여 안토시아닌 색소의 축적이 다른 양배추 계통을 이용하여 RNA Seq을 수행하고 분 석하였다. 양배추 시료는 자색양배추, 녹색양배추, 저온에서 안토시아닌 발현되는 양배추, 저온에서 안토시아닌 발현이 없는 양배추를 각 2종씩 사용하여 색 관련 유전자 마커의 선발과 분류를 용이하게 하였다. RNA Seq 데이터 분석을 통해 안토시아닌 합성관련 유전자의 발현 양상을 확인한 결과 자색양배추에서 MYB2, TT8, F3’H, DFR, ANS 유전자의 발현이 많았다. 또한 RNA Seq 데이터를 기반으로 SSR 마커로 활용가능한 프라이머 45개 세트를 선별, 작성하고 PCR방법으로 검정한 결과 9개의 프라이머 세트를 선발하였다. 그 중 1개를 양배추 F1 품종을 대상으로 검정하여 자색양배추 또는 저온에서 자색을 나타내는 양배추를 구분할 수 있었다. 안토시아닌 합성과 관련된 상 류유전자와 구조유전자들의 게놈 구조를 분석하고 상류유전자 18개, 구조유전자 15개의 염기서열을 분석하기위 해 각각 33개, 21개 프라이머 세트를 작성하였다. 염기서열 분석한 결과, F3’H, DFR, MYB2, 유전자에서 총 10개의 SNP(Exon 4개, Intron 6개)와 1개의 SSR(Intron)을 발굴하였다. Genome-wide analysis of heterosis-related genes in non-heading Chinese cabbage

Heterosis or hybrid vigor describes a phenomenon that superior phenotypes compared to the two parents are observed in the heterozygous F1-hybrid plants. Identification and characterization of heterosis-related genes (HRGs) will facilitate hybrid breeding in crops. To identify HRGs in Brassica rapa, we analyzed transcriptome profiling using a Br300K microarray in non-heading Chinese cabbage at three developmental stages. A large number of genes were differentially expressed in F1 hybrids and non-additive expression was prominent. Genes that are expressed specifically for F1 hybrid at all three stages were Brassica-specific uncharacterized genes and several defense-related genes. Expression of several photosynthesis- and stress-related genes were also F1 hybrid-specific. Thirteen NBS-LRR class genes showed high and specific expression in F1 hybrid Shulu: some of them were characterized as defense genes in Arabidopsis, but most have not been. Further characterization of these defense-related genes in Brassica species and its application will be helpful for understanding the role of defense responses in heterosis. In addition, results obtained in this study will be valuable to develop molecular markers for heterosis and disease resistance in B. rapa.
