The present study is a preliminary research improving the dwelling quality of apartment house as a kind of multi-family housing. The purpose of the study is to find out the actual state on characteristics of indoor noise including residents' living in apartment units. The method was field survey consisted of field measurements on equivalent noise level, observation on noise type, and interview on residents' responses. Field survey were carried out in 20 occupied apartment units from January to March 2007. The results are as follows. 1) Averages of indoor noise levels including residents' living noise were measured as $43.9{\sim}62.2\;dB(A)_{Leq5min}$, the average of each house except one was higher than the permissible level, 45 dB(A). 2) The noise types observed were mostly residents' living noise and classified into 'water hammer', 'living equipment noise', 'noise by family', 'hood noise', 'kitchen noise' in own unit, 'walking and talking noise in stairs and corridors', 'noise by neighborhood house', 'noise by the upper story' in building, and outdoor noise. 3) The residents showed slightly non-positive responses at 'noise by the upper story', 'noise by neighborhood house', 'water hammer', and 'noise by family'. Therefore, it is required to plan for preventing deterioration of the dwelling quality by residents' living noise in own unit as well as by neighborhood houses.

The final aim of this study was to propose guidelines for the indoor environment of apartment remodeling projects. The first task of this study was to understand the major elements and the actual condition of the remodeling for apartment unit by carrying out in-depth interviews on residents and specialists. The open-access interviews were conducted with interior designers who have a wide experience of apartment remodeling and residents who live in recently remodeled apartment units. The second task was to evaluate the actual condition of the indoor environment and to analyze the main factors that affect the indoor environment in remodeled apartment units. Field measurements were carried out in twenty apartment units occupied after remodeling, recording indoor environment elements (indoor temperature, globe temperature, relative humidity, $CO_2$, CO, PM10, TVOC, HCHO, illumination, and equivalent noise level). Moreover, resident interviews and researcher observations were carried out to determine the contents of the remodeled unit and to investigate the architectural and living factors(like ventilation characteristics, etc.) related to the indoor environment. The results are as follows. The remodeling elements generally included the changing of lighting fixtures and finishing materials in all the spaces, the integration of the balcony into the children's room, the installation of furniture in the kitchen and the entrance, the changing storage furnitures and equipments in the bathroom. The average levels of each unit of relative humidity, $CO_2$, TVOC, HCHO, equivalent noise level, and illumination were proved to be on the whole in inadequate condition. The factors that affect these indoor elements were classified as remodeling factors (remodeling amounts, extent balcony integration, and lighting fixture exchange), ventilation characteristics, and living factors. According to these results, this research proposed the guidelines for the indoor environment in apartment remodeling projects.

The purposes of this study were to determine the actual state of the indoor air quality by measuring TVOC Concentration and surveying residents' responses in a newly built university dormitory and to analyze the influencing factors of IAQ. Field measurements on the concentrations of TVOC and HCHO were carried out three times at 4 week intervals in 3 rooms of a dormitory. A questionnaire survey was conducted on residents which inquired into the resident's lifestyle, their consciousness of IAQ, and the responses to SHS. According to the results, TVOC concentrations were 0.14~18.5 ppm and HCHO concentrations were 0.23~6.89 ppm during the 3 months following the completion of construction, showing a serious state in which standard levels are exceeded, though these levels seemed to decrease over time. The factors influencing the differences in the levels of TVOC and HCHO were the ventilation volume including infiltration, the heating temperature, relative humidity, or the use of living matter that include chemical ingredients. However, the residents rarely felt the symptoms of SHS and were not conscious of the importance of ventilation.

클라미디아 시타시에 의한 비전형 유두 각결막염 1예

        최윤정,전루민,Yun Jeong Choi,Roo Min Jun 대한안과학회 2010 대한안과학회지 Vol.51 No.4

Purpose: Only a few cases of keratoconjunctivitis caused by Chlamydophila psittaci have been reported worldwide, and no case reported in Korea. We report an atypical case of keratoconjunctivitis caused by Chlamydophila psittaci. Case summary: A 34-year-old male patient who had raised a parrot at home presented with three weeks of conjunctival injection and a week of ocular pain in his left eye. There were papillae on the left upper and lower tarsal conjunctiva and punctuate epithelial erosion of the entire cornea. He also complained of dizziness, fever, and dyspnea. Upon chest X-ray, consolidation on the right middle lobe was apparent. The Chlamydophila IgM antibody test was positive, and the pneumonia improved quickly. Nevertheless, signs of keratoconjunctivitis persisted despite 3-week treatment with oral doxycycline. As a result, the patient received an additional 10-day treatment with oral azithromycin. Four weeks after the first visit, symptoms were improving gradually, and, after six weeks, no signs of keratoconjunctivitis remained except minimal erosion. Conclusions: When patients show keratoconjunctivitis after contact with a bird, prolonged ketatoconjunctivitis by Chlamydophila psittaci should be considered. Identification of genomic regions associated with piglet survival and mortality

        최윤정,김상욱,윤준호,Bong-Hwan Choi,Tae-Hun Kim,김관석 충북대학교 동물의학연구소 2014 Journal of Biomedical and Translational Research Vol.15 No.2

One of the major problems in the modern pig in- dustry is infectious disease. Susceptibility to infec- tious diseases is influenced by both constitutional (e.g. genotype, age, gender, and reproductive status) and environmental factors (e.g. nutrition, management, infections, and other forms of stress). Genetic varia- tions within individual animals or herds can cause dif- ferences in the execution of immune functions against infectious agents in domestic pigs. The objectives of the present study were to identify genetic factor(s) responsible for piglet survival and mortality under commercial field conditions with infectious diseases as well as determine QTL regions for immune capac- ity in a pig reference family. Sex ratio was examined between normal grown and presumed dead groups of F 2 animals generated by Korean native pigs (KNP) and Yorkshire (YS) breeds. The ratio of males was significantly higher in the presumed dead group than in the normal grown group. In order to study genetic factors associated with presumed mortality under dis- ease outbreak, allelic frequencies of 239 single nucleo- tide polymorphisms (SNPs) were compared between normal grown and presumed dead groups. Exactly 22 SNPs showed significant differences in their allelic frequencies between the two groups, and four of them were validated with another commercial population divided by normal and emaciated pigs. Furthermore, the relationships between 239 SNPs and immune- related traits were studied. These results demonstrate that identification of genetic components of animal im- mune systems and susceptibility to infectious diseases is possible and will be useful to improve disease resis- tance in individuals as well as in breeding programs.
