Super-cooled State Cloud Generation System Development for T-50 Supersonic Jet Trainer Icing Test

Icing cloud generation system was developed to perform the in-flight icing simulation test for T-50 Supersonic Jet Trainer on the ground. The developed system successfully generated the almost natural icing cloud in the super-cooled state (liquid state) below freezing point and with the required LWC (Liquid Water Content). For full-scale aircraft icing test, an icing scaling method was adopted due to the limitation of wind generation speed with open-circuit type blower and its applicability was experimentally verified. Under the required in-flight icing condition based on the icing scaling method, T-50 aircraft subsystems were successfully operated and functionally checked.

A 19-month-old boy suffered from stridor and dysphagia. He was taking asthma medication for a few months, but symptoms did not improve. After admission, a chest CT showed a posterior mediastinal mass, which compressed the trachea and esophagus. The removed mass via open thoracotomy was a bronchogenic cyst on histopathology. Postoperatively, stridor and dysphagia disappeared. In case of persistent and refractory stridor or dysphagia in children, congenital lesions including bronchogenic cyst need to be ruled out.

Faulted section identification is one of the most important function in distribution automation systems. Conventional over current detection based fault indicators frequently mal-operate due to the reverse fault current from the renewable energy resources. This paper present a new faulted section identification method based on the fuzzy decision making technique. In order to establish feasibility of the proposed method, case studies using Matlab Simulink has been performed.

Authors analysed 111 cases of the femoral neck fracture with more than 1 year of follow-up period among 172 cases treated in our department between January 1981 to July 1988. The conclusions were as follows. 1. 29 cases(26%) were below 50-year-old and 82 cases(74%) were above 50-year-old. More males(82.8%) belonged to below 50-year-old, while more females (63.4%) belonged ta above 50-year-old. 2. Both males and females bdow 50-year-old showed near normal value in Singhs index with 5.5 and 4.4 iespectively, while definite osteoporosis pattem was noted in both males and females above 50-year-old with 3.2 and 2.3 in the index. 4. Average bone union time of internal fixation group was 15.1 weeks. 5. In internal fixation group, compliCations encountered in 43 cases in 25 patients(rate.40 .3%);among these, avascular necrosis was most common(rate:24.2%). 6. Amount of extemal force, degree of initial displacement and accuracy of reduction were considered as the major factors in influencing the development of avascular necrosis, but age and sex, delay of operation and fixation device were seemed to be the minor factors. 7. 11 cases treated conservatively revealed poor result with 6 cases of nonunion and 3 cases of malunion.

Background : Arterial blood gas analysis is the most comon exam in intensive care unit. In this study, the frequency of blood gas analysis and the amount of blood loss after Blood Gas Analysis in Intensive Care Unit were observed. Methods : From November 1999 to February 2000, 115 patients admitted to intensive care unit at Soonchunhyang university Kumi hospital were studied prospectively for the frequency of blood gas analysis and the amount of blood loss after blood gas analysis in Intensive Care Unit. Results : The mean value of frequency of blood gas analysis was 6.41±6.49 and the mean value of amount of blood loss after blood gas analysis was 0.78ml. This was lower than that of other foreign reports. The patients with ventilator therapy above 24 hours showed higher frequency of blood gas analysis than that of not applied ventilator patients. Pulse oxymetry was applied to all patients and the frequency of blood gas analysis was decreased due to the use of strict pulse oxymetry. Conclusion : Doctors and nurses in intensive care unit keep in mind that adequate blood sampling is needed for the decrease of blood loss. Education and protocol for the decrease of blood loss after arterial blood gas analysis may be necessary.
