Matrix type silicone rubber devices were designed for long-term implantable drug delivery system. Release controlling agents (RCA), i.e., polypropylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, were employed to control drug release from the devices. The release rate of drug from RCA dispersed silicone matrices was mainly dependent on hydrophilicity-hydrophobicity of drug and RCA. In the case of hydrophilic drug, the release from the RCA dispersed matrix was regulated by swelling kinetics. Especially when the relatively hydrophobic polypropylene glycol was used, swelling control mechanism induced zero-order release kinetics. Whereas, the release of hydrophobic drug was resulted from partition mechanism. The effect of RCA was to increase drug diffusivity.

트위터에서 트윗 주기와 사용자 속도 사이 관계

최근 위치 정보를 제공하는 온라인 소셜 네트워크 서비스들의 급증으로 인해 사용자들의 지리적 위치 데이터의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자들의 고 정밀 위치 정보를 알려주는 공간 태그된 트윗 (geo-tagged tweet) 정보를 활용하여 트위터 사용자들의 정확한 위치와 트윗 전송시각을 알아낸 후, 이를 통해 사용자의 평균 이동속도와 트윗 주기 (tweet frequency) 사이의 관계를 분석한다. 구체적으로, 트윗 빈도수 계산 알고리즘을 소개하며, 결과에 대한 분석은 국가별, 도시별로 나누어 진행한다. 주요 결과로써, 사용자 속도에 따른 트윗 주기가 멱 법칙 분포 (power-law distribution) (또는 Zipf의 법칙 분포, Pareto 분포)를 따름을 보인다. 또한, 미국과 일본에서의 결과를 비교할 때, 일본에서의 분포도 지수가 미국의 경우에 비해 작음을 확인한다. Recently, the importance of users' geographic location information has been highlighted with a rapid increase of online social network services. In this paper, by utilizing geo-tagged tweets that provides high-precision location information of users, we first identify both Twitter users' exact location and the corresponding timestamp when the tweet was sent. Then, we analyze a relationship between the tweet frequency and the average user velocity. Specifically, we introduce a tweet-frequency computing algorithm, and show analysis results by country and by city. As a main result, it is shown that the tweet frequency according to user velocity follows a power-law distribution (i.e., Zipf' distribution or a Pareto distribution). In addition, by performing a comparison between the United States and Japan, one can see that the exponent of the distribution in Japan is smaller than that in the United States.

유아교사의 놀이신념과 놀이교수효능감이 유아의 놀이성과 또래 상호작용에 미치는 영향

목적 본 연구는 유아교사의 놀이신념, 놀이교수효능감, 유아의 놀이성, 또래 상호작용의 일반적인 경향을 살펴보고 변인들간의 관계를 파악하여 유아교사의 놀이신념과 놀이교수효능감이 유아의 놀이성과 또래 상호작용에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법 경남지역에 근무하는 유아교사 345명을 대상으로 놀이신념, 놀이교수효능감, 놀이성, 또래 상호작용이 측정되었으며, 수집된 자료는 일원배치 분산분석과 Pearson 적률상관분석 및 위계적 회귀분석을 통하여 분석되었다. 결과 첫째, 유아교사의 일반적 특성에 따른 놀이신념에서 교사 연령, 경력, 학력, 근무기관 유형에서, 놀이교수효능감에서는 교사 연령, 경력, 학력, 근무기관 유형에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 유아교사의 일반적 특성에 따른 유아 놀이성의 차이에서는 담당학급 연령과 담당학급 유아 수에서, 유아 또래 상호작용의 차이에서는 교사 경력, 담당학급 연령, 담당학급 유아 수에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 유아의 놀이성과 유아교사의 놀이신념, 놀이교수효능감 간에는 정적상관이 있었으며, 유아의 또래 상호작용과 유아교사의 놀이신념, 놀이교수효능감 간에도 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교사의 담당학급 유아 수와 발달-규범 신념, 놀이교수 효능에 대한 신념이 유아의 놀이성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 교사의 담당학급 연령, 담당학급 유아 수, 놀이교수 효능에 대한 신념이 유아의 또래 상호작용에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 결론적으로 유아의 놀이성과 또래 상호작용의 발달을 위해서는 교사의 놀이신념과 놀이교수효능감을 발달시켜 나가는 것이 중요하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. Objectives This purpose of this study was to investigate general trends of play belief, play teaching efficacy, and children s playfulness and peer interactions and to identify correlations among factors, and to analyze the influences of early childhood teachers play belief and play teaching efficacy on children s playfulness and peer interactions. Methods Date were collected from 345 early childhood teachers in Gyeongnam area, by using questionnaires of play belief, play teaching efficacy, and children s playfulness and peer interactions. Date were analysed using One-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation and hierarchical regression analysis through SPSS 25.0 program. Results First, the play belief according to general characteristics of early childhood teachers, age, experience, education, and work place type of teachers had statistically significant differences. For play teaching efficacy according to general characteristics of early childhood teachers, age, experience, education, and work place type of teachers had statistically significant differences. For children s playfulness according to general characteristics of early childhood teachers, ages and number of children in the class in charge had statistically significant differences while there were statistically significant differences in teachers experiences, and ages and number of children in the class in charge for peer interactions of children according to general characteristics of early childhood teachers. Second, there was static correlation among children s playfulness and teachers play belief and play teaching efficacy, and there was also static correlation among children s peer interactions and teachers play belief and play teaching efficacy. Third, number of children in the class in charge, teachers belief on development-norm, and that on play teaching efficacy had influences on children s playfulness, and ages and number of children in the class in charge, and belief on play teaching efficacy had influences on children s peer interactions. Conclusions In conclusion, it is important to develop teachers play belief and play teaching efficacy for developing children s playfulness and peer interactions.

Elizabeth Costello is the character of The Lives of Animals by J. M. Coetzee who maintains that reason is not the unchangeable value distinguishing human from animal. She thinks that reason is just the criteria that human has produced for their own interests. Therefore she rants at the academic audience attending her lecture that slaughtering of animal is not different from the Holocaust. The fictional Elizabeth Costello mocks those philosophers who try to discuss suffering of animals in abstract terms. Nobody around her realizes her spiritual wound originating from her radical argument. As an old vegetarian writer, she speaks on behalf of J. M. Coetzee, who performs her in his own Tanner Lectures on meat eating and animal experimentation delivered at Princeton in 1997. Accordingly, The Lives of Animals is Coetzee`s performance of a female subject of Elizabeth Costello. Despite the fact that feminists have compellingly drawn a connection between the traditional notion of reason vs emotion and the oppression of women and animal, many animal ethicists fail to incorporate these insights. The link between ability of reason and oppression of others has resulted from philosophers` insistence on the superiority of reason over emotion. Thus, recognition of the inherent continuity between the two is urgently needed to eliminate suffering of others.

Stupidity and wisdom stand in a deeply paradoxical relationship. Since the Enlightenment, thought has been "trained" to "detach" itself from stupidity. But it is discovered right at thinking`s origin: it names the wonder or stupefaction that inspires thought. Stupidity names the repressed ground for human affectivity. Apatheia, that is assumed by Kant as a emotionless state or absence of affect, can be related with stupidity. The fact that Kant classifies apatheia among affects is meaningful as it implies that apatheia can function as a potential of all Michael K, the protagonist described in Life and Times of Michael K, is a kind of idiot who shows an unique emotion of stupidity and apatheia. In fact, he appears to lack many things in reality but has no desire for anything. Also his idleness in reality can be criticized for its irresponsibility and passivity, he only wants a genuine existential freedom of his being. The only one thing he can do as a person who has been treated like an inferior animal is to be stupid in the turmoil of war. For Michael K, stupidity is the very condition of his being and the means to survive in the cruel historical and social reality. A doctor of the camp who tried to control Michael K with his charity has failed and been overwhelmed by his stupidity. He also experiences a paradoxical emotion like stumplimity in relation with an unrepresentable being of Michael K. The only responsible and ethical response of the other is to try to commune with emotion of the other for a sincere relation even if we can`t know it at all.

One of the most prominent characteristics of J.M. Coetzee`s novels is that there are many characters who perform the writing act in the novels like J.M. Coetzee himsel. These characters are both same and different with the real author. As a kind of spokesperson, sometimes they represent the opinion of J.M. Coetzee and sometimes show differences with it. In this kind of confessional way of writing, J.M. Coetzee represented his own limit as a white writer in South Africa with the help of these characters. Especially, Slow Man is the novel about failure of an author to transform her raw writing materials in his imagination into a real work of fiction. While Coetzee`s concern with hospitality is evident from his earlier novels in his extensive use, he expands the concept of hospitality into authorship more specifically in Slow Man. According to Derrida, unconditional hospitality is distinguished by responsiveness to otherness and denotes receiving difference of others "before any determination, before any anticipation, before any identification." Likewise, an author should open up to visit of character involuntarily as inspiration comes to her. In terms of the metaphor of hospitality, a writer could be described as both a host and a hostage to an unknown character and unknowable readers of the future. Eventually, Elizabeth Costello who is writing a novel as both a character and an author in Slow Man is representation of J.M. Coetzee himself.

Lee Hochul confessed that the works at the early stage after his debut seemed like coughed bloodstains. His 1950s fictions contained the signs of painful life that he experienced since he had moved to the south boarding the boat for refugees. He, who had to continue the lonely life in the south after leaving his family in the north, writes the processes of meeting and parting of the community rather than the individuals in his early novels, repeatedly. Of course, they have the writer’s original memory or self-consciousness. Lee Hochul studied at Wonsan middle and high schools when socialist’s regime was established in the north right after liberation. At that time, he faced the fighter characters of ideology at the classroom where was the place for propagation of strong ideology. He felt the violence of the system that broke up the existing community or made the individual members as a homogenous group in terms of ideology by the process to make or eliminate enemies. Experiences at that time remained as the original problems of the writer and became media to capture the social problems in the south where separation ideology was prevailed. Hence, Lee Hochul prepared the literary methods that triggered the contradiction of separation system and ideology by community problems in his novels in 1950s.
