The purpose of this study was to investigate the relative importance of choice attributes in choosing a youth soccer class and to illustrate market segmentation based on the relative importance scores of each choice attribute. Data were collected from 241 users of youth soccer classes and respondents rated the extent to which they prefer 12 scenarios depicting fictional youth soccer classes. The results of conjoint analyses revealed that program was the most important choice factor, followed by administration (or ownership), instructors, and facilities. In addition, based on a cluster analysis and chi-square tests, four market segments were identified and labeled ‘administration-counts’, ‘instructor-focused’, ‘facility-prioritized’, and ‘program-oriented’.

The influence of heat treatments on the grain boundary morphology of alloy 690 (Ni-30Cr-9Fe) was studied. Serrated grain boundaries were produced by isothermal heat treatment at 800℃ after solution heat treatment at 1150℃ or by control cooling in the temperature range of 800℃ and 400℃ with a rate of 5℃/min or below. The amplitude and wavelength of serrated grain boundaries increased with longer isothermal heat treatment time or slower cooling rates, but showed maximum value at some extent, respectively. Precipitates on the serrated grain boundaries were revealed as Cr23C6 having semi-coherent cube-to cube relationship -{100}matrix//{100}ppt <100>matrix//<100>ppt -with one adjacent grain.

Two kinds of oxide-dispersion-strengthened (ODS) 316L stainless steel were manufactured using a wet mixing process(wet) and a mechanical alloying method (MA). An MA 316L ODS was prepared by a mixing of metal powder and a mechanical alloying process. A wet 316L ODS was manufactured by a wet mixing with 316L stainless steel powder. A solution of yttrium nitrate was dried after being in the wet 316L ODS alloy. The results showed that carbon and oxygen were effectively reduced during the degassing process before the hydroisostatic process (HIP) in both alloys. It appeared that the effect of HIP treatment on increase in impact energy was pronounced in the MA 316L ODS alloy. The MA 316L ODS alloy showed a higher yield strength and a smaller elongation, when compared to the wet 316L ODS alloy. This seemed to be attributed to the enhancement of bonding between oxide and matrix particles from HIP and to the presence of a finer oxide of about 20 nm from the MA process in the MA 316L ODS alloy.

Austenitic oxide-dispersion-strengthened (ODS) stainless steel was fabricated using a wet mixing process without a mechanical milling in order to reduce contaminations of impurities during their fabrication process. Solution of yttrium nitrate was dried after a wet mixing with 316L stainless steel powder. Carbon and oxygen contents were effectively reduced by this wet processing. Microstructural analysis showed that coarse yttrium silicates of about 150 nm were formed in austenitic ODS steels with a silicon content of about 0.8 wt%. Wet-processed austenitic ODS steel without silicon showed higher yield strength by the presence of finer oxide of about 20 nm.

Alloy 617, Ni-22Cr-12Co-9Mo base oxide dispersion strengthened alloy was fabricated by using mechanical alloying, hot isostatic pressing and hot rolling. Uniaxial tensile tests were performed at room temperature and at $700^{\circ}C$. Compared with the conventional Alloy 617, ODS alloy showed much higher yield strength and tensile strength, but lower elongation. Fracture surfaces of the tensile tested specimens were investigated in order to find out the mechanism of fracture mode at each test temperature. Grain adjustment during tensile deformation was analyzed by electron backscattered diffraction mapping, inverse pole figures and TEM observation.

Yttrium oxide is one of the most thermo-dynamically stable materials, so that it is generally used as a dispersoid in many kinds of dispersion strengthed alloys. In this study, a nickel-base superalloy is strengthened by dispersion of yttrium oxide particles. Elemental powders with the composition of Ni-22Cr-18Fe-9Mo were mechanically alloyed(M.A.) with 0.6 wt% $Y_2O_3$. The MA powders were then HIP(hot isotactic press)ed and hot rolled. Most oxide particles in Ni-22Cr-18Fe-9Mo base ODS alloy were found to be Y-Ti-O type. The oxide particles were uniformly dispersed in the matrix and also on the grain boundaries. Tensile test results show that the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of ODS alloy specimens were 1.2~1.7 times higher than those of the conventional $Hastelloy^{TM}$ X(R), which has the same chemical compositions with ODS alloy specimens except the oxide particles.
한국 회나무(Euonymus planipes), 참회나무(E. oxyphyllus)와 나래회나무(E. macropterus)의 잎의 형질비교

한반도에 분포하는 참회나무, 회나무, 나래회나무의 영양기관에서의 유효 식별 형질을 확인하기 위하여 166점의 표본 조사를 통해 단변량 분석을 실시하였다. 3종을 대상으로 4개의 정량형질(잎의 길이, 잎의 너비, 엽두의 길이, 엽병의 길이)을 측정하였다. 형질 분석 결과 3종에 대한 잎의 형질은 종간 차이를 보이지 않아 종간 식별에 도움이 되지는 않았다. 따라서 본 분류군에 있어서 잎의 형질만을 가지고 종을 식별하는 것은 타당하지 않고 반드시 꽃이나 열매가 있어야 이 분류군을 인식할 수 있다고 판단된다. 분포에 있어서 회나무는 강원도에서 평안도에 걸쳐 분포하고, 참회나무는 백두대간을 중심으로 한반도 북부까지 분포하며 나래회나무는 한반도 남쪽지역을 중심으로 분포하는 양상으로 보여 분류군 간에 다소 차이가 있지만 대부분 강원도를 중심으로 분포가 겹친다. Leaves of 166 specimens were sampled to investigate patterns of interspecific variation and to evaluate recognition of Euonymus planipes, E. oxyphyllus. and E. macropterus using four leaf characters (length, width, apex length, and petiole length). This study suggested that these leaf characters were not useful to identify these taxa. Therefore, it is only possible to identify these closely related taxa based on flower and fruit characters unlike other horticulturists' view.
외과중환자에서 APACHE-Ⅱ score의 임상적 의의

The objectives of this study were to refine the Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE-Ⅱ) scoring system in order to more accurately predict hospital mortality risk and to identify the patients who need the ICU admission and the predictability of length of ICU stay for critically ill hospitalized patients. We retrospectively collected data on 36 surgical intensive care unit (ICU) admissions at Dept. of Surgery, Chungnam National University Hospital between March 1993 and June 1996. An increasing APACHE-Ⅱ score was associated with increased mortality rate (p<0.005). And daily APACHE-Ⅱ scores may be used for monitoring of the patient progression and the course of illness (p<0.005). But APACHE-Ⅱ can not predict ICU length of stay (p>0.005). We conclude that APACHE-Ⅱ may be utilized to clinical assessment in the evaluation of the severity of illness and mortality risk in critically ill patients and also APACHE-Ⅱ may prove a useful means of monitoring the course of the illness and response to therapy in any selected patients.
