The author report here the clinical data of 18 cases of tonsillar cancer which verifide histopathologically during six year period (Jan. 1965-Dec. 1970) at the Dept. of Otolaryngology, S. N. U. H. . The results were as follows; 1. The histopathological classification revealed 11 cases of malignant lymphoma, 4 squamous cell carci?noma;2 undifferentiated cell carcinoma and 1 anaplastic cell carcinoma. 2. The age distribution was even and the sex ratio was almost equal in malignant lymphoma, whereas the squamous cell carcinoma was found chiefly in fifth and sixth decades and in man. 3. Most of the cases (more than 80%) complained of sore throat and more than 70% of the cases had visited the clinic within three months after onset.

This paper is about a case study of an interdisciplinary and intercultural collaborative design project course that has beenoffered for six years. The distinct characteristics of this course lie in that its students consist of those in two different disciplines,mechanical engineering and industrial design, and also in two different countries, Korea and Germany. The themes of the designproject have been selected differently over the years, but always were related to transportation and, particularly, personal mobilitydevices. The paper first delineates the course and illustrates examples of the outcomes. Then, unique aspects and challenges ofthe course that have been observed through the six runs and that are associated with the intercultural and interdisciplinary natureare indicated and discussed. The author is convinced that this course has been successful in helping prepare the students forglobally-operating manufacturing companies in the future. It is hoped that the findings from this course and the discussionscontained in this paper would help those who plan to offer similar courses.
유전자 알고리즘과 FDTD 방법을 이용한 접지면 U 슬롯 구조의 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계

본 논문에서는 유전자 알고리즘을 이용하여 접지면에 4개의 U 슬롯을 가지는 광대역 소형 마이크로스트립 안테나를 설계하는 방안을 제시하였다. 안테나의 해석을 위해 적합도 함수로서 FDTD 기법을 사용하였고, 정방형 패치의 길이, 접지면 슬롯의 길이, 중심선으로부터 급전점까지의 거리가 최대의 대역폭과 최소의 크기를 가지기 위한 최적화 파라미터로 사용되었다. 실제 안테나를 제작하여 측정한 결과, 2.445 GHz에서 10 dB 대역폭이 15.63 %이고, 최대 이득이 3.61 dBi이며, 일반 마이크로스트립 안테나에 비해 크기는 54.8 % 감소하였다. This paper presents a broadband compact microstrip antenna design with four U slots on the ground plane by using of genetic algorithm. FDTD method is used as fitness function for antenna analysis, and length of rectangular patch, length of ground plane slot, distance from center point to feed point is used as optimization parameter for maximum bandwidth and minimum size. The measurement result of implemented antenna present 10 dB bandwidth of 15.63 % and peak gain of 3.61 dBi in the 2.445 GHz, and antenna has a reduced patch size of 54.8 % compare with normal microstrip antenna.
